If you made this up, you need to get in touch w television/ movie studios. This could be gold. If it's real, I'm so sorry that you are going through this. It's one thing for your wife to be doing stupid, but leading your daughter down this road just hurts my heart. When our family does things we don't approve of, we can choose to communicate our disapproval in love, but be prepared for blow back

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT allow loneliness to let her back in. There was a reason. Think about THAT while YOU get closer to God and yourself. If you allow her back in, it WILL be worse. You've got this. Just put one foot in front of the other and one day at a time. I'll bet you haven't been you in a WHILE and you didn't even realize it

Very good message. Just be Dad. The kids matter most. Don't get caught up with the arguing.

I won't even read the responses. It's because they have been coddled as children. Called "princess" from day one to try and build their self esteem. However, their parents and communities went overboard and have them thinking that as soon as a partner so much as disagrees with them to get rid of them. Yes we need boundaries, but we overshot.

Years ago, on a work trip, I ran into a girl from college Iwas crazy about. We caught up for a minute, told her I wa travelling on a work trip and she told me she was going on a vacation. Solo. My mind was BLOWN. She sid it was good for their marriage to have one solo vacation each year. I was impressed, but I knew never to try that piece of advice at home.😉

For one thing... Don't react... Even if you have to see it. Chuckle, smirk and walk away. She will be crushed when she feels her attempts to anger you fail. Never let her see you sweat.

Amazing analogy, really. I love it and will use it going forward. She wanted to destroy you and make you rue the day you allowed her to go. She REALLY didn't want you to go. They (some of them) want a Hallmark / Soap Opera storyline of you realizing your life is nothing with out her and you came back to tell her so and beg her to come back. when this didn't happen, she began hating you for it . She'll eventually crack and tell you something to this regard. It's the whole problem of raising our d…

First off SHE IS NOT THE ONE GRANTING YOU ANYTHING - its the COURT that makes the call if you cannot agree. And buddy I had the SAME thing told to me (m-f, i get weekends). MOST DEFIJITELY and this is how she will put it to you EVERY TIME. I'll LET you have this. it is COMPLETELY a POWER PLAY.

It's all about control. They will complain about ANYTHING to make you the bad guy, so they don't have to take responsibility. It could be as simple as your daughter talked about what good time she had and Mom has nothing to counter with have a better time. Now any disagreement is PRECIEVED to be acting out. Coach your daughter to not let anyone steal her joy and how to handle it.

Well, a bunch of them tend to have those tendencies as well. Perhaps "less than 1%" of the word are true clinical narcs, but our culture has bled the tendencies into our culture. I'd honestly believe more women have the tendencies due to what culture pushes. "My Princess" "nobody is happy if Momma is not happy" "Happy wife Happy Life" "PMS" I mean, they have a license for bad, self-prioritizaion behavior... the hallmark of narcissim.

Duh. That's hilarious that a study was necessary. If you have a woman who just wants to be with you, DO NOT encourage her to hang around other women. It will not end well.

I know it's sad. But this is why it is pertinent for us to talk to young men and have them understand that marriage is not something that HAS to be done. Even the Bible says it's better not to marry (I Cor7) because of the difficulties inside marriage. It takes a matrurity from both sides that our society as a whole lacks. We marry because we've been with someone we probably should not be dating anymore because of the turmoil. We think it'll make things better or that we don't have enough patien…

Interesting. I can see that being an issue. You tell them what bothers you beacuse you believe they are oblivious and they twist the knife. All probably in an effort to get you to leave or WORSE bait you into something they can consider abusive. And UNDERSTAND, they WILL turn Gray Rocking into "abandonment/abuse" even when all you're doing is trying retain you peace and sanity.

I would say you need a divorce to figure out who YOU are without a partner. You need more self confidence and respect and I say that respectfully as MOST of us need that. I... needed that before I got married. Get out and get healthy, Brother.

I can see why. I wonder what the equivalent mom is. I'll wager there is no term. I know women who try to buy their children's love with constant gifts and talking about what they've bought and threatening kids with "well all your father because I won't buy that again." Just crazy.

I feel you. We often mess up because we want our spouse to speak our love language and not vice versa. It's hard being a word of affirmation person and give gifts because that's what she wants. And never get the words you crave because she's busy giving you crap. You feel like you're being financially abused, but that's just how she sees love. And then if you ever read Love and Respect, what will happen is either you'll stop showing love or she'll stop showing respect and you death spiral until …

I'm sorry to hear that you feel that way, Brother. But if you "refuse to attribute" your success, then perhaps you should also refuse to attribute your failure in marriage to God. And I don't say that to be petty, etc. There are times that we forget that we were given free will and our decisions, even as Christians, are flawed. But then again, it's not like you're open to this at this time. I was just letting OP know that he needs to focus on himself and if he happened to be open to Christ, delv…

You really don't want to know. It won't make it any easier. Protect yourself and your relationship with your children. As hard as it will be, show her no emotion and focus on YOU and your children. Find activities that will make you a better person, father and partner (you can ALWAYS improve). Do things YOU enjoy and share those with your children. Never speak ill of their mother. They will figure things out on their own as they age. Just be the rock they need through this. If you believe in a h…

Brother, I'm so sorry to read this, but realize you are safe and will live another day! It's time to let her go regardless of the outcome for YOUR sanity is greater than any accumulated wealth. Don't return home alone. Go with someone preferably police, get your things and start over. I hope there are no children involved in this madness.

Speak on it. One of the major issues is that MOST women will blame before taking any part of responsibility. We have to raise our daughters not to be princesses, but partners for their future husbands.

Hmm... I'm sure I'll get backlash for this and people saying it's made up or it's just one data point, etc. But when people say there's "no racism in.. ” I really wonder if they just mean they haven't experienced it because they aren't a minority. The problem in our court system is that they still look at things as if it's the 50s. The mother is a nurturer and if there is a divorce, the children should stay with the nurturer. You have to prove she is an unfit mother otherwise.
