Just to clarify even further: When I'm being validated without trying to get it(that is I'm just aware of things and the 'I' isn't present/dominant), after sometime it feels that I've set the bar higher now. That there are expectations from me now. That I have to maintain this image now. So the stakes feel to be high and the awareness succumb to the strong impulses of the 'I' and I end up doing stupid things.

Makes sense. I relate to this. I'm not sure if it happens only with me, but I can live in a state without I and I've tried solving problems being in such a state too(after going through your comment and other posts many times). What I get stuck at is, being in that state I get everything the 'I' wished for. I've been exploring these concepts for some years now. Jiddu Krishnamurthi, Tolle and other's words have helped me in understanding these things.
