Finnish here. All the same ideas apply here too. But no, men are not expected to pay on dates -- actually some women may get offended if you try to do so and others will insist on paying your share as well. Some will go as far as to offer you drinks and all. But all in all, I guess that's because of the ultra-feminism that like other Nordic countries is unfortunately deeply infiltrated in the society.
