I want to get sterilized. Advice?I also chose an IUD despite these risks, but the chance of them happening is very small. My point was that surgery also carries risks. My word is not law and there is no reason she needs to listen to me, a stranger on the internet. I just wanted to point out that IUDs are also a good option, and one that might be easier to access. Where I am, we have public healthcare so birth control is very easy and inexpensive to access, but most doctors here would still be very reluctant to perform a permane… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 24/02/20 03:20 PM
I want to get sterilized. Advice?I never said she didn't, but it's very permanent and any surgery is risky too. I don't have a copper IUD, I have a hormonal one, hence the acne, but please, enlighten me what these devastating issues IUDs cause are. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 24/02/20 02:00 PM
I want to get sterilized. Advice?I also have an IUD. I've experienced some acne and a bit more cramping, but yes it does carry other risks. So does a sterilization surgery. Neither one is a 100% perfect option but they are both options. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 24/02/20 05:13 AM
I want to get sterilized. Advice?I second this. IUDs are a great option, and they have the highest protection rate of reversible birth control at about 99.7% which is in the same ballpark as a tubal ligation at 99.5-99.9%. There are hormonal and non-hormonal options that can last 3-10 years, so you're covered for a long time. Plus it is much, much easier to find a doctor who will give you an IUD. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 23/02/20 03:47 PM
[SEEKING ADVICE] What are some good self-care practices to do after leaving a toxic (LVM/pickme) relationship? When I got out of a bad relationship, one quick thing that helped me feel a lot better was a whole day where I just did what I wanted by myself. The night before, I cleaned my room and had a nice long bath and then went to bed early so I woke up well rested. My "me" day was getting my nails done, going to a local bakery, doing some shopping, and just kind of wandering around and enjoying my new freedom. I felt a thousand times better at the end of the day. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 18/02/20 02:50 PM
Opinions on Stay-At Home Dads?Yeah exactly! Dad's can be great as stay at home parents and good fathers are extremely important for child development too. I still have a really good relationship with both my parents, and they're still married after almost 30 years. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 14/02/20 07:32 PM
Opinions on Stay-At Home Dads?He fixed printers and did some minor IT support for a handful of offices in the area, it was by no means a regular or well paying job because it was contingent on the office's things not working. It amounted to an extra few hundred per month, maybe a thousand if it was a busy month or he fixed and sold some extra junk printers, but otherwise our family was completely dependent on my mother's salary. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 14/02/20 07:03 PM
Opinions on Stay-At Home Dads?Yeah idk why. My dad being stay-at-home was hugely influential on our relationship and my relationship with men in general. He's largely responsible for my interest in things like science and the outdoors. Like I said before, if thats not something you want out of a relationship then that's fine, but being a stay at home dad or considering that option does not automatically make a man bad. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 14/02/20 05:52 PM
Opinions on Stay-At Home Dads? This is so dumb. I was raised by a stay at home dad who ran a small business out of of our house and eventually got a different job once my sister and I were older, and I wouldn't change it for the world. So many girls talk about "daddy issues" brought on by absent, workaholic fathers, and there is nothing I could relate to less because I have such a good relationship with my father. Having a strong father figure and a dynamic that worked for my parents I think has made me a better judge of a ma… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 14/02/20 05:15 PM

Just my personal observation of IUD and sex cultureIn my experience, it's lightened and shortened my period, even if it is a bit crampier. Its also about 10x more effective. 3/100 women who just use a condom will get pregnant within a year, where with an IUD that number drops to 3/1000, even less if you use both. It's not for everyone, but I feel significantly safer with an IUD because I am the one responsible for not getting pregnant. I have more to lose if I do get pregnant, so I want to have total control over the birth control. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 04/02/20 06:46 PM
One month after IUD insertion, I'm still having horrible pain. Fuck the lack of male birth control purely for their convenience. You should NEVER have to be the only one who suffers and sacrifices. Fuck that. The reason there's no male birth control is because of risk vs. benefits. Men not being on birth control has no increased risk of adverse effect, but the risk for women is that they get pregnant, which has its own plethora of negative health effects which are much greater than the risks of birth control. A drug that does more harm than good, even in the form of relatively mild side effects, will never get approved. It still sucks that there's not more options for male birth control though. | 0 | LVM struggling with newborn and wife dying of cancer...This is a horrible situation and anyone involved has every right to be terrified. It's a normal reaction to believe you can't handle something as huge and scary as both having a newborn and a wife dying of cancer. From what I got out of that post, he isn't legitimately debating leaving, but it's a thought that had crossed his mind, and I know would cross mine, as a woman, if I were put in a similar situation, even though I would never in a million years actually do it. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 12/01/20 05:12 PM
