Thank you! So annoying to see the armchair lawyers saying a guy would get 25 years for this same thing. Too many people come here and are ready to believe anything as long as it confirms their biases.

Well in the words of Tim Curry's Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island, never trust a silver platter.

People are literally trying to hold that girl back and stop her the entire video up until the fight starts

Her friends really tried to look out for her and keep her from pushing him too far, but she just couldn't keep it together. Considering how long he held back for I wonder what even precipitated this, because I can't imagine he antagonized her.

In her other tweets she says this was a bathroom with one stall and no lock on the door. She does a piss-poor job of explaining, but it sounds like there's a stall and a urinal (because I don't know why else there would be a stall if it was the only toilet) and a sink. In that case, yeah, that's super weird to come in and not wait for the woman to leave if you're going to piss in her view, but on the other hand how the hell does a bathroom like that not have a lock on the door??????

There are so many things of guys knocking a woman the fuck out after a weakass slap and acting like it's a proportionate response. This was actually a somewhat proportionate response. He didn't drop her on her head, he didn't punch her in the face. He basically just knocked her off her feet and he showed all restraint up until he finally did that, and he didn't keep going, he just kept her at bay when she got up.

If you go out to eat with someone with the expectation that you are paying (regardless of if it's a date or just treating a friends) there is an implicit agreement between you and the other person: you will not restrict what they order and they will not order excessively. If you take a girl out and you know you can't afford to get a drink or two just have the discussion that you'll each pay for yourselves. If she's not okay with that then you don't want to go out with them.

The title says that Leyonhjelm documented 26 examples of her making misandrist insults in the senate. We can say it's not true because that's not what he did. The person you're replying to misquoted the title a bit.

What is not honest about that? It's literally what happened. The context isn't even important beyond the fact that it was in the senate chamber. He accuses her of calling all men rapists (his interpretation of her statement which she has said is not correct) and he yelled, "You should stop shagging men, Sarah!" He admitted he did it. He won't apologize. He did something wrong. If he thinks she did something wrong then he can say she needs to apologize, but that doesn't absolve him guilt or blame…

Yeah he's defending himself for shouting, "You should stop shagging men, Sarah!" from across the senate chamber and refuses to apologize. It's, at the very least, totally uncalled for in the senate. He absolutely should apologize.

She actually never said "all men are rapists". Leyonhjelm said that she said something about men bearing responsibility for rape instead of women (context being that she said she didn't think women should have to carry weapons to protect themselves from rape) and he interpreted it as meaning "all men are rapists". She has denied his assertion that that's what she was saying. And what started this round of feuding was that he shouted across the senate chamber, "You should stop shagging men, Sarah…

Yeah this whole situation was actually bullshit. They gave her the breathalyzer and found she hadn't been drinking but still decided to arrest her because there were drinks there. It's a bullshit law and that enforcement is bullshit too.

That's a good response and I appreciate it. We just clearly differ on our opinions. I come at it from the perspective that the whole idea of fathers and mothers having separate roles in raising a child is arbitrary, it's based on outdated social norms from a time when mothers were stay-at-home moms and fathers were the breadwinners and disciplinarians. Now in most families everyone has to work full time so there's no reason a father and mother can't be equals and the roles they play could be int…

Who's to say that's what she's doing? Maybe she was raised by a single mom and is talking about her. Or maybe she has a lot of friends who are single moms. Maybe she's thinking about all of the single moms in her life who feel like they somehow failed their kids by having to be a single parent and not being able to provide a father figure. And correct me if I'm wrong but she didn't make that image, right? She just shared something from another Facebook page. I agree that it's a little trashy to …

First off, it is trashy to pat yourself on the back on Facebook for any reason really, but for all anyone here knows she was posting this because she was raised by a single mother or has a lot of friends who are single mothers, not because she is one herself. That being said, this is stupid. Deadbeat, absentee fathers don't deserve to be honored on Father's Day so posting about single moms who had to fill the father's role doesn't "take away" from Father's Day at all, not anymore than thanking a…

The reply does exactly that. It implies that she's trying to "take away" from Father's Day, but celebrating a single mom instead of a deadbeat, absentee father doesn't diminish Father's Day.

Caring for a terminally ill or invalid parent doesn't automatically preclude you from having a romantic relationship with someone or from getting married or being physically intimate with another person. And in many cases they won't live for that much longer, but the spouse would be presumably for the rest of her life. Plus a lot of people care for an invalid parent but how many put them in a home instead?

It's a lot easier to say that than it is to live that reality every waking minute of every day of your life. Not saying you couldn't do it, but I bet at least half of the people who say they would couldn't actually do it.

If everyone were really held to that standard hardly anyone would actually get married. Half of all marriages already end in divorce, how many more would if they were put through that kind of strain?

It's so easy for people to say they'd stay in that situation, but if they were actually in that situation how many could? I would personally rather risk my life for my fiancee and take a savage beating that may kill me or leave me disabled than spend the rest of my life as her caretaker because she's suddenly quadriplegic after saving my life. I would also feel like shit having the love of my life have to become my nurse and she would be bound to me as a caretaker. I'd need her but I would feel …
