My question in these situations is how on earth did the husband not care / notice / do anything? Like, to some extent you can hide stuff from your spouse, but this is wayyyyy too much to just keep tucked away for while he's at work

Chauvin being convicted isn't as strong a peice of evidence you seem to think it is. Lots of people who get convicted later end up proven innocent. Also, lots of people who obviously committed crimes end up "innocent". OJ Simpson? So yeah, not a great metric to determine who has committed a crime or not.

I don't smoke for that exact reason, but I've had my mind blown a million times over watching these heavy smokers run 6 minute miles. As far as I can gather, a strong running habit outpaces a smoking habit lol

Just staff shifts with one or two extra associates rather than trying to squeeze by with the absolute bare minimum skeleton crew. If one unskilled, likely minimum wage (or nearly) employee calling off fucks your scheduling, that is absolutely your fault and the fault of the company.

Abso-fuckin-lutely I swear it's all we do. There's so much dead space every single day because higher ups set a time something needs to happen, NCO's tell the Joe's a half hour early, and the Joe's show up 15 mins before that because we'll get chewed out if we don't. So we show up 45 mins early to everything and the higher ups end up late anyways Then the actual planned training starts, and if it's a class, the higher ups knees start hurting from standing at the front of the room, so we take a 1…

No it does not. That's the old test, this one started in October. Called the army combat fitness test

Infantry uses the same test

They have lowered standards for PT tests, look up the ACFT, the US Army's new standard.

The army at least is getting rid of sex based physical standards. However, after a long period of changing the scoring every fuckin two weeks, they've settled on making this new PT test easy as FUCK to pass, but pretty damn hard to max. When the ACFT (the new test) rolled out, your passing scores were determines by your MOS so, say, infantry had harder requirements that females basically just couldn't qualify for. Now everybody got brought down to the lowest standard that even a fat body fuck co…

The issue is that it's really hard to fire government employees for things like 'theyre too fat' They get tested for physical fitness when they get hired, but after that it's basically impossible to fire them for fitness reasons

Chimney sweeps basically had the same breathing issues as coal miners, but even more cramped and yes, more dangerous. They had to climb up and down the lengths of chimneys. They basically bought children from their parents because only small children could fit in most chimneys. So many young boys does, it was actually one of the main jobs that spurned child labor laws into existence.

No no, what he's saying is that it's BOTH individuals choices to have sex, so it shouldn't EXCLUSIVELY be the woman's choice as to wether or not the father is being shackled with child support. If a woman wanted an abortion because she didn't want to be stuck with the responsibility just from a mistake, but the state ordered her to have it anyways, we'd all say that's pretty fucked up. If a man wanted an abortion because he didn't want to be stuck with the responsibility from just a mistake, but…

Weird. I always preferred menthol when I smoke, and I don't do any other drugs but drink. I've never even heard that stereotype haha.

I can somewhat understand him. I'm a guy, lived with two male roommates for 3 years. I was the only one who cleaned or took out trash or did chores in general. I was routinely mad at them and would yell at then and assert that they had to help. They'd help for a bit, but always go back to being nasty. I eventually realized the frequent confrontations were worse than just cleaning everything myself. I knew it was unfair, but I was less mad if I just cleaned.

You pretty much defined a normal relationship. Complimenting weaknesses and working as a team and such, yeah that's just what relationships are supposed to be, not co-dependancy

First off, good on you carrying them. Maybe most people won't tell you they appreciate it, but I will. Good job, internet stranger. But moreover, I'd recommend that you just kindly tell them to get lost. If your condition for gettin nasty is that they wear a condom, you should feel more than fine about shutting everything down if they refuse. Especially since you're supplying. I get some people might be upset that "it won't feel as good", try reminding them they'll last longer lmao. But yeah, at…

Groceries, and in some cases health products, are not taxed depending on your state. The anecdote I have is Indiana, I live here (unfortunately). Most "essential" groceries are not taxed. It's only a few cents, but the principle is nice. As for condoms, I live about a 3 minute drive from Purdue University, so there's definitely free condoms all over the place. Yeah, I can't walk into Walmart and get a 128 pack for free, but a lot of dorm bathrooms have free condoms, and the gym on campus offers …

In Indiana, a lot of groceries are not taxed. Junk foods and hot food (like pre-prepared food at restaurants) are still taxed, but most essential groceries are not

I have not admitted to friends in private, now that I think about it. But it's no big deal regardless, they can give me all the shit they want, I won't waiver from my view that I should always be wearing a condom unless I'm specifically trying to conceive. And yeah, I wouldn't dispute you that women can feel the difference, I'm not a woman, so I sorta just assumed. I'd still stand by the idea that it's much less of a difference for women than men. This is excluding ribbed/textured condoms, of co…

What he's trying to say is "if I don't care about std's or pregnancy, I won't be bothered to carry a condom around. If a lady who's tryna fuck me cares, she should have one" If it's such a massive problem, just find out if he carries condoms before he's about to stick his dick in you. Hell, use it as a way to initiate. A seductive "do you have condoms?" whispered in my ear is more than enough to set me off. But Christ, don't wait till you're both naked and ready to fuck to learn that he doesn't …

Gotta say, I disagreed hard with this person earlier in the thread, but they're kinda right here. I admitted to my small ring of close friends that I refuse to have unprotected sex, and they gave me a bunch of flak as if that wasn't the right choice to make. They all roasted me about how it feels so much better unprotected and all that, which is definitely a male thing. Women can't really tell the difference if there's a condom or not, so more men are definitely likely to push the pullout method…

Women like sex too, if they want to fuck somebody, they should be willing to pony up for a portion of the admittingly tiny cost of condoms. Regardless, women should be very interested in safe sex since pregnancy is a bitch-and-a-half. This is just as stupid as the "men should put toilet seat down" argument. Look out for yourself, you lazy fuck. If you wanna get laid, make sure you have condoms. Same for a guy. Also look at the fucking seat before you sit down. I seriously can't fathom what kind …

Because people want to feel useful and helpful without really putting in too much effort. If your friend has depressive spells every so often, it's easy to occasionally go out of your way to help them out, and you can pay yourself on the back. If your friend is constantly lying and stealing because they're paralyzingly deep into a drug addiction... Well, that's a lot more work than most people are willing to put into somebody other than themselves, especially if the "payoff" is small or too far …

And yet they criticize men for lack of self control when they're horny. Don't get me wrong, I think everybody should be held accountable for their actions regardless of gender, it's just the double standard that irks me.

I really feel for cops all things considered. Not only does their job have then constantly dealing with the filth of society, they often get blasted for shit like this. Oh he hit her with his baton? BRUTALITY!! Can you imagine your job involving publicly neutralizing people like this? Would you be so careful about it? I get that they're trained to respond with appropriate force, but if I had a taser, pepper spray, and firearm on my belt, I'd probably reach for something a little less precision t…

He'll be arrested, but likey the video will prove it wasn't him starting it. A lot of the times, police have to arrest somebody to end the fighting but don't know the full story. It's not right but they usually default to arresting the man. If the case goes to any court, he'll be let off problems on the the grounds of defending himself.

I get where you're coming from, trying to point out that he's using excessive force compared to what she was using, but being better equipped to take a hit doesn't mean you just have to ignore it. Have you ever been hit over and over? For one, it'll make you super angry. For two, a bunch of slaps and kicks add up to a few punches. Lastly, if it was another guy smacking him around, nobody would be pointing how how unfair it is that the other guy swung with fists.

Sir is TECHNICALLY gender neutral. Granted, almost nobody uses it that way, but if we're gonna throw a fit over it it's worth pointing out

It looks like he's trying to take it easy on her, only commiting to leg shots at first. I imagine it's harder to specifically not hurt somebody too bad when smacking them with a baton.
