Ex is now homeless. Can I get full custody?1st, this is a divorce men’s sub. You don’t belong here. 2nd, you do what you have to in order to keep your children safe and divorce is war. The fact that a judge wouldn’t instantly move the child to the father vs allowing him to be homeless justifies any means necessary. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/10/25 08:16 AM
Ex is now homeless. Can I get full custody?Depending on your relationship with the ex, maybe you could offer to have him nights until she’s back on her feet. Courts only care about overnights when totaling custody percentage. Document that you’ve been de facto having him 100% nights and you should have a stronger case. Offer to pick him up and drop him off, you just want him to be in a warm bed each night. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/10/25 06:44 PM
Asking your husband to do as much chores as you when you are a SAHM is abuseNot necessarily abuse in and of itself, but I imagine OP was in an abusive relationship and this may have been one of many emotional manipulations culminating to the whole of it. My ex was the exact same way, and would call me really viscous names when I couldn’t keep up with working full time, and being the sole responsible caregiver anytime I wasn’t working while she expected me to clean the house when she “tagged out”. What a relief to be free of that now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/03/25 07:05 PM
How long should I wait before I try to meet someone again? It took me 5 years to be ready. Prioritized my son, my financial well being and my therapy. I wanted to get fully back to a stable life first and didn’t want to risk catching feelings with a FWB. I’m glad I waited because now I’m so much more comfortable in who I am, and I think that’s helping me attract better dates. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/03/25 03:56 PM
Well the affair partner just called me.Yeah, but you fight for 100% knowing you’ll get 50/50 if you’re lucky. His ex is about to claim abuse, seek TRO or any number of things to screw him over. It’s war and you have to go for the jugular, because you as a man are at a disadvantage in all things child related in the court’s eyes. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/02/25 07:53 PM
Single Divorced Men, how are you dealing with the void on Valentine's day?Have a taste of DEMOCRACY! | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/02/24 06:02 AM
Not What I Signed Up ForThis is so spot on. Disregard the betrayal, the lying and backstabbing from the one person in your life who is supposed to support and lift you up. Picking up the pieces alone and carrying on the best you can for your kids is a lonely road. Sometimes I’m grocery shopping and looking at these couples working together to keep guide the kids or keep them involved and think to myself, why am I doing this alone? | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/23 02:00 AM
Question for menIf she won’t sign a prenup, then she’s already showing her true intentions. She will do everything in her power to manipulate you and gaslight you into thinking that you wanting a prenup is a sign that you aren’t committed to her, when in reality she’s hedging her bets. If you marry without a prenup you will regret it for the rest of your life, I promise you. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/07/23 05:59 AM
Divorce Final....Going back to Court (AITA?)This is 1000% true. If you set the precedent that you will allow bullying she will continue for the the 18 years or however long you are tied to her because of your children. It’s about making a statement. You will likely recover from going to court financially a lot easier than she will. Don’t allow her to go back on what you already agreed to without painful consequences. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/06/23 05:52 PM
UpdateDon’t leave the house no matter what. Talk to an attorney ASAP | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/06/23 05:08 AM
Mothers Day Card for ExSpending $5 to send an olive branch shouldn’t hurt anything. In fact, seeing their parents be amicable after divorce will reduce stress for the children. Once the divorce is done, showing kindness tells the universe that it didn’t break you and your character is still in tact. Just don’t make it a big deal, and keep it to just a card. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/05/23 01:20 PM
