I'm definitely at fault although I probably didn't write a much about it and sorrrrrrry I mislabelled him as abusive rather than a jerk. As an 18 year old I guess you have way more experience than everyone in the world and you can tell everyone else how perfect you are, because obviously you never misused words or made mistakes before.

Yes but I tried to make it work and finally I left. I really don't understand the negativity. People are jumping down my throat for making a better decision? What happened to being supportive in RPW? I don't need people to tell me I stayed in a shitty relationship. It's in the past. I have moved on and I learned my lesson. The fact that people are condoning someone who made a mistake and learned their lesson is unforgiving. We have all made mistakes before.

Gaslighting, not letting me end the relationship.

Bitter pill much? OP is asking why both MGTOW happen to choose HER to date when they're already jaded. Replying with your own rant isn't helping her. She already knows why they're MGTOW as stated above.

I'd also like to know the types of things she gets sensitive about too. She mentions texting him, but hasn't disclosed the content of those texts for example. I think this might be more of my problem of being too sensitive of clingy because I'll text him some things (more like stories or kiss faces or selfies not logistics) during the day and I'll get annoyed if he doesn't respond for a few hours or if he gives a one word reply. But thinking about it I guess it's silly of me to expect him to alw…

Your comments are so amazing! I love how you wrote this. He's not terribly stoic to an extreme, I might have made him look like a bad guy but actually he likes to tell me funny stories about his day and stories about his past. So he's not totally silent 100% of the time. I think he's just stoic maybe 40% of the time. I also grew up with a stoic father and a stoic brother (both of whom essentially concentrated their energies on their career, family and relaxing), so obviously I'm attracted to thi…

My reply to another similar comment: He does show me appreciation, so I just wonder if I'm a little needy. I would say 70% of the time he says "I miss you too." He does take me out to dinner few times a week but the most important is he never complains about me or insists I have to do anything for him. He holds my hand when we cross the street and when I do cook dinner for him he says thank you and also he tells his friends and his family how much I do for him. He is actively working on his care…

Wow! Good points. Especially about not being prepared for a conversation...that's why a lot of men take so much time to think through things (like after a fight, they usually don't speak for a while because they're thinking). I think I will try to read that book. Thanks for bringing it up!

Hahaha 'snuggling' does not engage the mind. It sounds like you want to chat with him or do something along with the snuggling. Men do not have near as much patience or interest to 'snuggle' unless it's a warm up for sex. True, I never thought about it that way. I guess for me I can snuggle and literally do nothing else but I can understand that snuggling for men is not as necessary (we definitely snuggle I just need more if it). It's actually amazing and humbling when strong men admit fault, sh…

Are you by any chance on the spectrum? When environment, noises, and too much stimulation in general has a severe affect on your energy and mood that's sometimes an indication. Or, are you really introverted? Actually, I'm not on the spectrum. I'm not sensitive to loud noises around me and I enjoy going to loud concerts and enjoy stimulation. I don't think it's so much of the loud noises part but rather the aggressive masculine voices that people use because then it affects ME to use an aggressi…

Sorry just to ask again since you can relate...how do you accept that even though your bf may be hardworking he may NEVER be as successful as your father? I'm just a bit depressed and maybe I shouldn't be seeking "daddy" but we respected my father so much, not just because he's successful but because my mother came from a poor family, so of course we had to rely on my father. Nowadays it's difficult because women can be just as intelligent or successful as men, so we understand the workforce. So…

I'm concerned of his finances because I don't know how we'll be able to raise children. I don't give a fuck about paying for meals or holidays, the underlying issue is that if I have to help him pay for little stuff then I don't know how we're going to be able to pay for another human being.

That's an excellent point and I lacked this in my other LTRs. I have never thought about me and any man as "us" because I have tried hard to maintain my independence. But you're right if we we are to marry then we have to start thinking about us as together not separate entities. Yes I have been very fortunate because he comes from a tiny island and English is not his first language. It's a lot of effort for him to get where he has.

It sounds like you're evaluating your partner based on what's happening in their career right now. I don't think that's a good way to go - even the most amazing people have bad years, and conversely, some morons will get lucky for quite a while before shit catches up to them. That's true. And I know that I myself struggled a lot for a long time with depression and being overweight. I was an SMV 5 back when I was 21-25. Dumpy, overweight, awkward as hell. I am peaking right now in my late 20's be…

Also just wanted to add that I did all the wife material things not consciously...! I am naturally like that. I don't have to think about how to give because that's just the way I am as a girlfriend, hence the reason why I was able to almost lock down marriage twice and potentially a third time. The problem is making sure the man is worthy of my wife material activities. I'm probably lean more toward the "unentitled" spectrum and too thankful of what boyfriends do for me. Unfortunately I think i…

About the finances? Yes he knows. We both know. He's frustrated but he doesn't know what else to do. He has even said if I feel I need someone more financially stable then I should leave. But I can't leave yet because he's the love of my life.

A captain is someone you turn to. Not run from. I do turn to him though, for virtually everything BUT finances. That's the dilemma. He's my captain in everything except finances.

YES exactly what you just said and that's my dilemma. Men really value that and it's basically all were looking for in a women besides the obvious sexual compatibility piece. We are extremely sexually compatible, he acknowledges this, we have the same outlook on life, I know he loves me to death and I have proven to be loyal to him since I stayed with him through a job loss. in miserable relationships now with men that are stable but don't complete them fully. This is what I'm afraid of. He's th…

I sounds like you knew his financial situation before you started doing all the cooking, household things. When we met he was doing OK, then he suffered a job loss, got a new job but it's also not going well either. Did you think that because you stepped up your wife-material game that you'd get something out of it? My intention with stepping up wife material game is to show that I'm marriage worthy, which to me is one of the main points of dating in the first place. I was looking for marriage i…

At some point you'll have to settle. You'll never get the perfect man. Are you perfect? are you above him in SMV? This is true. I think we are equal in SMV/RMV although our strong traits are different. For example he is probably a 9 on the looks scale whereas I'm a 7 (he says I'm very beautiful but this is my own judgment) but I have a lot of good RMV traits like sexually generous, good cook, soft place to land, I'm well-connected in the community and good reputation, I come from a well off fami…

Consider that he may also have been burned by previous gf's, and has matured to the point of not blowing a lot of dough on fake holidays. Yes, this is true. I know he was burned by the first example ex-girlfriend because she was very difficult emotionally to handle, and burned by the second example ex-girlfriend because during that period they all suffered job losses and she left him because of his economic situation. Everything else you say about him paints him as a good guy who appreciates wha…

Just let him know what your intentions are, and say that if he doesn't want a relationship then you're going to walk away. It's up to him to work for you or not.

I'm not scared of living overseas because I have before in the past so I understand expat life. My job is similar everywhere so it doesn't really matter.

You don't have to be demanding about it, you simply need to set your boundaries. If you say it sweetly and nicely, and leave it at that instead of explaining yourself over and over (aka nagging) then you're not being demanding.

Work on yourself and nurturing yourself first with the intention of doing it for you and not for the purpose of him flocking to you, and he - and everyone else - will see the integrity of your self work and the ensuing confidence and yes, femininity. Ugh yes this so much. It's such a fine line for me to be submissive (and I'm naturally submissive) because I easily turn it into being needy and clingy. I just need to work on myself and my own interests not trying to revolve around him as much. It'…

respecting your partner's boundaries when you're needy and he's taking care of himself is the ultimate form of respect, and he will love you for it. Thank you I needed to hear this and remember it...we did talk about it the other day because he asked me why I kept picking stupid fights with him and I said "I feel like you don't care about me and if you fight back then I know you care." I did start taking better care of myself though and trying to concentrate on myself, because I know I have the …

Well here's the thing. I have impressed him with myself, at least at the beginning. Then like most relationships you start becoming vulnerable. I will reiterate that I'm not dependent on him - I have my own life and interests and ambitions, that's exactly what attracted him to me. But since we've been dating for over a year of course I'm going to start being attached to him - like any romantic couple will be - but apparently he doesn't like that. He likes me for my "independent wall" that I've b…

Yes actually we talked about it today. He's on probation for a new job so he's pretty stressed. I have been understanding in the past but lately I have been needy because when he's stressed he pulls away and when I'm stressed I want to be close to him. Logically and rationally I know he's concentrating on his career so that we can have a stable life in the future. Although I understand this it's still difficult sometimes when I feel lonely. Again I'm very independent and have my own life so I do…

But at least for me and my boyfriend, I give him what he wants for his inner child. His inner child wants acceptance even amidst his failures. I recognize that in his relationship between him and his mother. So in that sense, I'm giving him what he wants in the relationship. How come I cannot ask for the same? I only ask for some affection and some love and protection from him. I don't feel this is too much to ask for especially in a romantic relationship. Intimate relationships are intimate for…

That's the thing though. I haven't let myself go. I'm still just as ambitious and social and nurturing and fit as before. Nothing has changed in that area. What's changed is I've shown him I want some love and affection. I tell him I miss him. But he doesn't seem to want to hear me saying there things. He seems to enjoy me being this strong independent woman who don't need no man even though he says he wants to be needed. I just don't understand. Is it so much to ask for for some love and affect…

I struggled with severe depression several times in my life. I was a pretty happy child until teenage years. Then success and perfection became a big part of me, due to my mother because she had high standards. I always strove to please my mother. She never told me I was good at anything because her philosophy was I would work harder if I didn't think I was good enough. I ran after my mother's approval my whole life. My father was emotionally absent and he pretty much stayed out of this whole th…

While I agree that I need to keep him "hooked," I feel like I'm lying to myself and to him if I'm not being vulnerable, does that make sense? The real me is a little baby girl that wants to be coddled. The independent side of me is the front I put up to take on the world. I feel like it's unfair to not be able to show the soft vulnerable part of me to a man. Especially since as a woman it should be OK to show my soft "weak" part. It makes me feel distrustful. I'm looking for someone to be secure…

Sort of, actually he wasn't sleeping with anyone else when we met, for me I was just broken up with and no one else was in the picture. But the main point was he wasn't looking for a wife when we met and he was a bit of a rebound for me. Maybe "plate" was the wrong word.
/r/RedPillWomen27/05/17 04:14 PM

To be honest he wasn't sleeping with other women when we met, but I meant plate as in he wasn't looking for a wife when we met. We quickly turned into a LTR though.

Well couldn't I also say "upgraded me to a LTR?" Not every single word has to be dissected. You know what I meant.

I was more shocked by the fact that I was trying to be open and honest about myself and the relationship, only to be yelled at quite harshly. I really just wanted some advice and a simple discussion. Perhaps I was being overly sensitive. I have lurked for a while and I do notice there are some queen bees in this sub that think they know everything and jump down your throat. It's funny because it doesn't seem very RPW to be so aggressive and the opposite of nurturing. I understand now when new us…

Because I was getting some nasty and unhelpful responses accusing me of being a hypergamous woman that's "terrifying to date or marry" and I felt like the commenters response was solely criticism and not constructive like yours, nor was it trying to discuss the situation at all. Thank you for your input that was actually helpful.

I'm sorry? What was your constructive advice? I'm confused. I read a lot of insults and yelling. Nothing that actually told me what I could work on. Read u/loneliness_inc response. That's what I call constructive. Many thanks to him. Ive honestly never understood TRP because I've never felt my attraction to a man diminish becausr I now had "the upper hand" but if girls like you are truly all over the place then ...You're too young to get married. Jesus fucking christ. For one please stop jumping down my throat. I think you have anger problems. Secondly, I mentioned above it was actually my father that told me to have a backup plan. I was planning on moving and having him in my future. It was my own father that said I should make sure I know exactly what I'm getting into. It's the same as if you were dating someone with a red flag, like someone with an alcohol problem. Please calm the fuck down and stop being such a bitch.

Jeez, way to be super negative. I'm trying to improve and make this relationship last and here you are criticizing me for trying to be better? And not even trying to give constructive advice? Maybe you might want to evaluate your own self worth and what you contribute besides negativity. You're also making a lot of assumptions about me and my relationship, accusing me of "being one of those girls." Maybe you don't know how much I've done for this guy. This is the response I'm looking for. Obviously I've never taken that "next step" so these feelings are new to me and that's why I'm trying to figure out why and how to make it a better situation, a better relationship, because I do love this man very much. I don't have an urge to chase anyone else. I really don't. That's why I'm so confused as to these feelings. And actually, it was my own father that told me to have a backup plan. I think you're confused. I don't WANT to have the upper hand. I didn't have the upper hand in our relationship at all until last night when I could tell he was seriously contemplating marriage. He IS a good man. I've invested a lot of time in him. He's everything I want in a husband. That's why I'm confused as to why I don't feel as excited now that we're moving towards settling. And I've worked really hard to be a good girlfriend and potential wife, otherwise he wouldn't be offering to provide …
