A lawyer will be able to advise on the financial situation. Sounds like you’re the roof over her head. Does she work? If you buy her out, then she should be able to put downpayment on a place or at least rent. Never forget you don’t owe anything to her. Maybe some pressure will persuade her. Sounds like she’s not really willing to make things better. Try and think about the practical side of things and avoid emotional thinking. No place for guilt now although it’s natural

Some states, setting up your bank account and “withholding family money” doesn’t look that good. You don’t know it yet but this optimism may turn fast. She will be freaking out now and probably talking to a lawyer to gear up. If you were her paycheque, you were her biggest asset, which she’s about to lose. You need to see this as an issue. We talked before you were going to do your thing. Please talk to a lawyer dude.

Well you’re prepared. I’d go a little further and check in with a lawyer first to protect yourself. Also setting a time limit on saving a marriage doesn’t sound successful but I get it. Careful with those statements, this is not the air force or a KO by Tyson, although you’ll be begging it was. It’s going to be trench digging and mustard gas. You haven’t done this before so thread lightly, don’t underestimate what’s at stake here. Be well

Getting left behind after surgery sounds familiar. Hope you’re better than before

It’s hard, really. I’m afraid many of us feel the same way at some point. The point is, there is no gain. You won’t feel better for her misfortune, you may feel worse even. You may even get sucked back into the wormhole. While it’s hard to believe, what’s done is done. And it is what it is, to say another useless phrase for you right now. Typically women calculate these steps for a long time. The best answer is to move on. Sounds like you have your finances in order, maybe move back to the city …

My ex took off with a bartender that’s 5 years younger and called me that same year with a flat tire. I felt bad for her the moment she took off. She did spend our money while I was recovering from surgery so she set herself up for failure but also me. That surgery lead to more surgery and chronic pain. She gaslit me through the whole ordeal. She’ll text me every now and then about something dumb she did. It’s natural.

Sorry to hear that, divorced 2 years ago. You’ll be better off in the end. If she told you no sex, six years ago, there was never anything to be done about it anyways.

Never did, never would. I’m loyal, too loyal. Had lots of opportunities working in hospitality. On a christmas party I ended up kissing a coworker on a night filled with booze and blow, after she threw herself at me. Wanted to go home with her but didn’t. Wife ended up having affair a few years later, while I was out of the country having surgery. Had me come back too soon during my recovery because she “needed help with the bills”. Left her with 10k in our account before my surgery and three mo…

My health has left me concerned for my financial future. That car was part of it. I can’t work full time anymore, while i used to do 50+ hours/week. Currently spending half of my income on medical bills. That’s why i’m so upset about it. If it wasn’t for my health, I wouldn’t care. But you have a point. ✌️

Lesson learned, I guess. SOL has been the name of the game for three years. Feeling like grabbing half of her bank account but I guess I won’t cause I couldn’t live with it.

I just posted here myself. Loneliness is the worst. Have no solution for it. I started having chronic pain during this time of my life so it’s already game over for me. No rebounds, alcohol or mental healing for me. It was hellish physical pain while trying to not lose my apartment and job. Now it’s just surviving the pain every day.
