...your lawyer says you can't divorce her? You don't need permission to divorce someone who treats you that way.

I haven't. Sure, the pain isn't as bad. But, as far as immersing myself in anything..all I do is work.

Oh for sure, it took me a long to actually see it was manipulation. But, I've learned a lot going through all of this.. and I guess every situation like this can be a learning experience.

I don't have the mental capacity to date right now. It seems so incredibly overwhelming. I feel like no one believes in actual dating, courting, all that. Instead, it seems most just wanna be fwb and no strings attached..which I'm not that kind of person at all.

Yes. I'm the monster, the fucked up one, the mentally ill, crazy, abusive one, cheater. You name it. All my fault..in her eyes.

Nah. No dating for me. Divorce was finalized earlier this month. She was had a bf a month after I left. I haven’t gone on any apps, nothing. I’d prefer to just be alone right now.

The marriage was incredibly toxic in all honesty- she was verbally, physically abusive. All the mind games, mind fucks constantly. I’m not perfect, I have my issues. I guess I got tired of always living in fear I’d piss her off somehow, walking on eggshells

I guess I had the same thought for a long time, well, what if I stay and she changes or decides to stop treating me like shit. I’m not putting all the blame on her, but that’s what led me to leaving and ultimately filing was because she was so verbally, physically and mentally abusive towards me. Also alcohol. But anyway, I guess now I do see me doing all of this as a good thing, but I still am sad in a way. I don’t want to be with her by any means, but yeah. Anyway, I hope you can find peace wh…

For sure, I guess it hurt so bad cause it was my first everything. Met her when I was 22, and we’ve been through a lot together. I definitely get what you mean man, and thank you. I appreciate the words

Hey man, my default hearing is tomorrow and I don’t know how I’m feeling honestly. A mix of emotions really. My ex wife definitely has narcissistic traits and tendencies and she’s kinda made my life hell. Constant gaslighting, name calling, throwing things at me, leaving bruises..you name it. It was awful. Always feeling worthless, suicidal. I don’t see anything good in my future right now, but maybe one day. Good luck and hang in there

Nah. I can’t see myself dating or being with another human being after what I went through the last 12 years. Lost all of my 20s. I guess you could say, I don’t know I’ll ever be able to trust again.

I got tired of it. I was house sitting a family members house earlier this year for a few days. When said family member was like “you can stay longer if you need to” I took that as my chance. Knowing I’d have a place to stay if I needed it. I was tired of the gaslighting, the yelling, screaming, belittling, name calling, throwing things at me, hitting me…so so tired of it. I deserved better. But then I’m still here almost 10 months after leaving, still allowing her to speak to me so nasty. Why? …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
