Interesting views, many of which i agree with though i hadn't thought of it that way, explicitly. Thanks for sharing

The original commenter gets the framing dangerously wrong. In a modern age when regulations, infrastructure, and public awareness influence diet and food habits far more than "culture". One begets the other, but they've gotten the order wrong.

I commend the both of you for handling this more or less flawlessly. You, for upholding your values and being clear about that. Him for his honesty. I literally have no notes, other than maybe when he matures, things come up and circumstances might be different then.

I'm the same, except probably more introverted. Went to a Protestant church (certain racial demographic) and my research was correct; they welcomed me and my quiet demeanor and foreign culture, fed me each Sunday, and somehow I'm married in the secular but traditional marriage that I wanted, with a child on the way.

You already have 4 kids and you're willing to give him 4+ more babies at 31? Dang!

I hear you and you're not wrong. He is right that his position is something he has earned; great. But for you, in the day to day life, his Privilege manifests as a larger share of work with little representation or gratitude for you. That is the part that needs to be addressed. You should not feel powerless and unvalued, unless you are not pulling your weight. Each person should strive to bring as much as they can to the relationship. Money alone does not justify one partner to be neglectful in …

He is over-available and it is understandable for a woman to lose attraction from this circumstance, even setting post-baby changes aside. Some men in the Men's RP space even discuss (half-jokingly) intentionally working from third/public spaces even though their role is fully WFH because of what that does to their relationship and the attraction between the couple. That said, this part deserves more thought, and perhaps warrants some conversation between you two: What keeps it important is that…

Churches usually welcomes newcomers even those who are brand new to religion or not at all religious. Chances are there are conservative men in the congregation that are questioning their belief themselves. Anyway, can say from experience this works.

I think a well thought-out written letter like the one you've put together here would go a long way in starting a conversation about marriage - something that is deeply meaningful for you but to him feels like merely checking a box. Explore this discrepancy; What about marriage makes it meaningful for you but not for him? I think written conversation could work well for this because your writing is nice and measured, and comes off without judgement. And, it sounds like the space between the two …

It sounds like you've lost attraction to each other so now you're both functionally just a roommate. Also sounds neither party wants to really change that. I don't think much will change as long as both parties remain in this state. Something's gotta give.

To me, Balance is highly desirable in both the pragmatic and aesthetic sense. In dating, I believe passion is rooted in polarity. Developing your inverse side helps in understanding the pov of the other pole.

The feminine and the masculine are both innate in all of us. One can lean into one or the other. One can cultivate both sides of themselves. To be well-rounded, one should find what is their natural inclination, seek to understand it, and strive to balance that out by developing the inverse side.

That's not the most accurate representation of OPs fundamental advice which is literally "hire someone to do it", and pointing out that the little hit to the ego can be catalyzing to a man is something that I, as a man, resonated with and responded to.
/r/RedPillWomen23/01/26 07:55 PM

Exactly this. Isn't the appeal in a much older man the probability of increased success/self-sufficiency/self-development/wisdom? If these are in short supply, then... not just "What's the point?" but also "How are you more than a decade older than me and so stunted?". It's up to you and your discernment whether a partner is worth investing in -- and there are great people to invest in. Just be pragmatic about whether yours is.

eh, sometimes there's nothing that'll wake a man out of inaction like a little wake up call and a figurative slap on the ego.

Haha it sounds like you both come from quite opinionated families, and it sounds like you both make your own conclusions and explore your way even when there is disagreement from family. On the flip side, it seems like both families show leeway and lets their kid "make their own mistakes". These can all be quite positive signs for a long term relationship/eventual marriage; the man has shown signs that he paves his own road and prioritizes you, and people and activities he wants to prioritize, e…

It is normal and expected for a man of his age to go through a crisis of meaning. It's also very common, at least in the U.S., for people in their 20s to share a flat with others. What to look for? Signs of agency and innate drive. (Building, researching, doing things for himself without any extrinsic coaching. Risk-taking, even if you don't love it and maybe you are right not to, is also a sign of this.)

Most peiple first choose their stance, which is often just a mimicry of their surroundings and culture, THEN come up with reasonings thereafter to justify their instinctive, mimicked "belief". Modern society is juvenilized. You can see this in the culture's tendency to refer to young adults as children-- something that is ubiquitous now ("omg that <18 to 24> year old is a literal child!!!") but was hardly seen until the last few decades. The rise in adult consumers of childrens' toy products. T…

Maybe try taking the conversation "asynchronous" by writing out your thoughts as you've done here, and giving it to him so that he can understand you and come up with a response at his speed, on his time, and in some isolation and self-reflection. You are good at articulating your thoughts, and the way you layed them out here seems quite fair, pragmatic, and reasonable. With people who can write in such a way, it can offer a great way of communicating with intent while giving the other person sp…

But if thats not for you, rock on brother Basically this. This is the wrong tack; if single life for you is going swimmingly, it's nonsensical as a high value man to feel some kind of imminent doom because of lack of fatherhood. That's just propagandized horse shit. The real problem at hand is that from said single (never married, never fathered) pov, there is and never will be anything to sufficiently distinguish a truly fulfilled father from a father dealing with massive, biologically-driven, …

Yes, some people on reddit say re+arded things. You should probably formulate the claim better if you want to facilitate "debate", as no one here would disagree productively with the above, honestly extremely trite, take.

This back-and-forth should be framed and displayed in the Louvre. Prime fucking chef's kiss example of the degree to which men understand what it's like to be in the mind of a woman, and vice versa.

More competition in The SMP forces men to either get better, or keep trying till they succeed. That’s a win-win. It’s that simple. You're forgetting a third, and increasingly popular option of opting out entirely from the SMP, which isn't good for anyone but a few "leader" figures that capitalize off the opportunity. Research historical accounts of what sociological changes catalyzed droves of driven men with societally conducive motives to become droves of listless men who have "opted out" and …

Nah, it's all relative. Who is serenading their paramour outside their window, or writing sonnets about their muse? Think pre-sexual liberation of the 1960s vs. everything after. It's clear from reading accounts of courtship from the days before reliable birth control was universally available that sex was sex and romance (even for men) was not just sex with some flowers on the side. Men used to yearn. They've largely swapped it out for simping instead. Agentic, intelligent women are going, "wtf…

Conservative and Patriarchal are loaded terms. Care to define how you're using them? These two are doing a lot of the heavy lifting for making this post worth engaging with.

It doesn't seem OP's saying the two are morally level, but "comparable" in the sense that they're respective sides of a pathology.

I'll take your rant at face value, and agree that yes, most modern Men are hyperfocused on sex. If you want to find one that isn't, you can. It'll just take some digging, and a re-opening of your mind towards the other sex.

Here is my most "pro slut-shaming" take; one I shared with my daughter when she became the appropriate age. As a modern woman, one of your most powerful God-given rights is the ability to discern men, with the main tool for doing so being the exercising of the word "No". By this discernment, the woman acts as a filter for what is incentivized in society, what kind of dating behavior is acceptable or rewarded, and literally whose genes and (the associated characteristics) are allowed into the fut…

Things co-evolve and one thing can beget another. If something is crucial for survival of genetic content, that thing will be biologically enshrined and incentivized in all kinds of different ways -- including but not limited to physical pleasure, emotional closeness, novelty, status, self-esteem, etc. etc.

Why would I give up comfort? Comfort is cool, struggling isnt. This is the main difference between You and I. That actually kinda hurt to read because it reminds me so succinctly of myself a couple years ago, as a college drop out struggling between jobs. Struggle builds, comfort kills. None of this will mean shit to you, of course. No shit you're too lazy to search and read your own sources. The whole point of my comment was to fucking do it anyways.
