I've struggled with autoimmune disease my entire life. The thing about autoimmune disease, sometimes you can do EVERYTHING the doctors tell you to and you're still sick. Part of why I stopped dating is because I'm on track to end up with a permanent colostomy bag and I don't want to deal with that extra layer of drama when the time comes. I needed to hear this today. Cat guys aren't inherently wholesome. You still have to vet them. My ex was obsessed with his breeder cats who he HaD tO lEaVe wItH hIs cRaZy eX. He ended up totaling my car on purpose, neglecting my rescue dogs need to pee when I was hospitalized for a week, and finally assaulting me. So yeah. Cat guys are just as suspicious to me as dog guys or lizard guys or bird guys. A bigger red flag for me is men who say they don't like animals, period.

Stay no contact. Being pressured into painful anal sex is rape. I know because I've been there and it's taken so much therapy to recognize that a lot of our "intimacy" was coercive rape where I was abused until I gave in. I don't know if the lack of oral hygiene was on purpose, but more-so him going on penicillin repeatedly and using it to terrorize me when he realized I was scared to death of it. My narc ex used to do this with penicillin. He would refuse to take care of his mouth, go on antibiotics for his gross mouth, and then leave random antibiotics out of the bottle sitting on counters, etc. Knowing that I've had a deadly penicillin allergy my whole life. This is absolutely anecdotal and I am NOT a health professional... but I had a bad series of anaphylactic reactions right around the time my NV-ex ramped up his physical abuse. Five epi-pens and four ambulance rides to the ER. I'm still not too sure of the culprit but I've been avoiding mangos and avoiding him and haven't gone into anaphylactic shock since. I wouldn't be surprised if stress hormones like cortisol mess with our immune function!
