I am just being rational, not emotional. She was a stupid kid that made a massive mistake. I personally think that everyone should be given the chance to redeem themselves.

What a silly comment.

You got caught (lol). You were punished and that was that. You don't have to live your life with stoner tattooed on your forehead. Sure Begum's "mistake" was bigger but it amounted to the same thing, a teenager's lapse in judgment. I don't know, it just seems cruel and unusual to be so unforgiving to an individual, no matter how far down any particular rabbit hole she went. Also: just found this: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/aug/31/shamima-begum-smuggled-into-syria-for-islamic-state-…

How is smoking weed on the roof a mistake? Do people steal jazz mags? I thought they got found on building sites and in the woods. My point is she is not a threat to anyone, she is a mother. I am no Christian, but aren't we meant to be a Christian nation?

I'd say my opinion has more heart than your "let her rot" stance.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: I'm sorry but the British people should be bigger than this. People make mistakes, young people especially. As they grow up they tend to make less mistakes. She has a child which is such a grounding and now, by denying her, we are probably turning her child into a future Jihadi. Begum never was actually dangerous and she is not dangerous now. I think this makes UK look small-minded and hypocritical given how much violent influence we put on the world for British gain.

Such silly things to say. Whether she will learn from it or not is not certain but her ongoing regret because she should have shut her mouth is.

You know that, I know that, but has the society she lives in taught her that? No, it's clearly taught her that the goals are what is important, not the means to achieve the goals on your own merit.

What is "greater" than not having to work, being rich, getting laid by a fit guy. Isn't that every girl's dream? I smell double standards, you go Kaylee!

Of course you wouldn't, who would? And that is your protective instinct that is kicking in. But you are only protecting them from your own conditioning of what is right, whilst they are obviously more open-minded about it.

Then US law is a fucking idiot. And if the 16 year old girl was fucking a 29 year old man FOR SIX MONTHS whilst leading a normal life, I'd say there's a good chance they were really into each other. This whole debate is a joke.

I would rather he slept with someone with experience than go through the trauma I went as a 15 yer-old with a girl the same age. Terrible experience because we both had no clue. Can we drop this conversation please?

And you need to stop your snippy comments, how does a woman rape a man? Seriously, I'm certain I could not be raped, if I did not want to be there, there would be no erection. Just seems bizarre to me, like a normal red-blooded boy's wet dream turned into a witch hunt.

Yes it would be different, of course it would. Because sex of the sexes is different. Men actively seek sex, women less so. It boils down to the old adage, women need a reason, men just need a place.

I was one a long time ago. And at that age I had been thinking about sex for at least three years. I wasn't a virgin, and had unloaded enough cum through wanking to fill an olympic swimming pool. Edit: last statement was hyperbole... but I did wank... a lot.

Women have a stronger cling to life, due to a combination of their maternal instincts and self-importance and other stuff. They live longer, they suicide less, they eat better, they are more temperate. Men love life, women fear death.

You’d think that having a child during this time would be easier. “Oh everyone understands what it’s like to be a single mother nowadays.” That would be great if it was true. They do love, that's why they are staying the fuck away.

No. Could be spittle. Circumstantial at best. This is my thinking. •The woman does not look depraved, she looks like a woman who respects family values above all. She looks humble enough to know her place. •The boy is four years old, incapable of anything sexual. There would have to be a lot more information that the article has not even alluded to, to make me think there might be something to this story.

When detectives received the results of the examinations on Aug. 16, the boy's DNA was found on Medellin's breast, according to the affidavit. Male DNA was also found on her genitals, but the sample was not sufficient enough to make a positive comparison. This is the evidence that convicts her. Dubious.

According to the law. That is because the law has to be as simple as possible in order to work effectively. According to anyone with any intelligence, maturity is based on experience in the adult world. But whatever, if you think this 19 year old is a rapist, that is your prerogative. If you think the 13 year old was a total victim, that too is your prerogative. I would be inclined to think both were just doing what people do.

Being a child is not about age it is about experience. I know children over thirty.

19 and 13? Both children, both sexually awoken. In Alabama? Where a man Procuring or employing a girl from 10 to 18 years old for prostitution brings a relatively mild $300 to $500 fine and six months in jail.
