Not disagreeing with your point, but I found that a lot of the time that gender gap came from my male managers. A call would come for someone to assist with moving something, and I (a woman) would need to explain to my middle aged male boss for 10 minutes that I could lift the 10kg box on my own. I'm not saying there aren't plenty of girls that are more than happy to leave the lifting to the guys, but there are also a lot of guys who simply refuse to let a girl do what they see as 'men's work'

I did a volunteer earth build a few years ago. I was there for 9-12 hours each day, and almost all of it was labor. I HATED the fact that when the boys were carrying 40kg cement bags, I could only carry 20, or that I could only move a half wheelbarrow load instead of a full one. Two people receiving different sentencing for different crimes in completely different circumstances describes nothing. I don't disagree that there have been gender bias issues in the legal system, especially in child molestation and custody cases, but this post is clutching at straws and makes this entire sub look like boys vs. girls in primary school, rather than a forum to address real threats against men's rights.

I haven't encountered much of it head on, but from what I've heard, the real extremists seem hesitant to engage rationally with anyone. I can really understand how it would look like all moderate feminists are sitting back silently while nutters take over, but the problem is that moderate viewpoints are generally boring. Like 'kill all men' is a much catchier slogan than 'consider all men and women on their individual merits irrespective of their gender identity and sex organs!'

I get that, but at the same time you cant have a rational argument with an irrational person. The deep dark heart of it is that to me, they're just nuts.
