I don’t think OP is unsure about her interest level. They’re concerned about the implications of getting involved with someone you see around work. I’d agree with OP that that is a little more complicated, esp if things don’t go well or if they even just get awkward

This is very well put. It’s akin to patriotism. If you can identify the disappointments and shortcomings in our system, can admit we fucked up, and earnestly work/advocate for their improvement, you’re more of a patriot than those who lack the courage to do the same. And you did it without devolving to acting toddlerish

That reaction may be accusatory enough to be a projection

Not so. The statistics aren't what dictate that decision, it's the officer who truly believes they can justify the shot because their life is in danger. They're not thinking about percentages in that moment. They're evaluating the evidence supporting the suspicion that that biker has a weapon and is about to use it. The officer likely feels like they have less of a chance of mitigating that threat without deadly force which is what informs the same decision not to shoot the old lady.

Not quite relevant tho. Every incident is subjective to itself. A police response is supposed to be informed by experience and training and engaged based on the subjective necessity of the moment. General statistics don't get to dictate who lives and who dies

You're not wrong, and I wouldn't universally equate the two. However something doesn't have to hit every alt-right base to still qualify as alt-right. I don't come here for all my alt needs, but there are some specific ones I can count on finding here consistently.

Not even trying to start shit, but it kind of is. It's why I'm subbed

Well that doesn't even make sense. You're not very good at jokes.

Sincere question: is there a single-word equivalent to racism in the context of religion?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
