Yes i would also say its more about social circles and similar sets of values within a socio-economic background. From my expierence most relationships start within circles of friends and at the workplace or school. People are more likely to get in a relationship with people they already know and i guess the main benefit of wealth and status is that it makes people more likely to leading a life were they meet lots of people.

Even if those things are true (which they are most likely not in my opinion) it doesn't seem to me that that knowledge would have any kind of value in our lifes. In fact the absolute majority of people engage in relationships without even considering this stuff. I think that framing relationships and sex in those terms will set one up to never engage in a fullfilling relationship. That might be more of an issue than status and wealth since most of the people engage in relationships regardless of…
