I can talk to them whenever I want so long as their schedule is clear. How old is your kid? My oldest is 7. I ask as I have a friend that was missing talking to his daughter as he is just going through a divorce now. She likes to game and I suggested he start playing online with her (she is 12). He talks to her every night during her game time. He has been so much more fulfilled ever since he started this with her.

CA, US here. First thing my lawyer told me once I hired him was “I highly advise as your attorney that you refrain from dating, seeing of sleeping with someone until the divorce is final”. Seeming that I had just paid him well I took his advice.

None of this applies to our relationship and I can see that she has used them. It actually disgusts me that this is geared towards men being the only abusers. Thanks fo the suggestion. Edit: applies to what me in our relationship.

Thank you for your feedback. I will consult my lawyer (even though lawyer advise is mentioned) about this on Monday as I have a consultation set. I’ve been still paying my share of finances to keep our home though I’m not presently living in it. I have financial statements to prove that I have been. She’s been physically abusive with me too which is another reason I moved out during this time.

Thanks man. Yeah I put up with a lot and being called a lot. Don’t get me wrong. I fall short in other ways but being a father is not one. I’m meeting with a Family Law lawyer on Monday. I’m done. I won’t stand for being called a bad father.

We were never married, it was very short and explained somewhat in the links with the body. Everything that will be set through the court is new. I just opened the case with a petition for joint physical custody (I already have joint legal). If she agrees than great, we'll have the judge sign-off. If not, I am getting a lawyer to help with the rest.

The "informal/verbal" agreement has been determined nil. Do to her not allowing me to take him out of her sight. I was allowed to take him twice, for thanksgiving and christmas. She stated and wrote that these were under "special circumstances". This is why I have decided to start the court process.
