As a former feminist, I was committed to the ideals espoused by the public fantasy of "gender equality". Then, I realized what the reality of that struggle was like. That's when I woke up. Sincere commitment to the ideals of gender equality is what made me stop being a feminist. True equal regard and respect for the dignity of both sexes goes beyond some misguided misandrist disingenuous lying sociopolitical movement masquerading as a force for good and the good of the sexes.

We've had our rough patches, but we worked through them. We nearly broke up a bunch of times before we got married. But, after we got married and she got pregnant with our child, I noticed that's when things started to become really different. She called it pregnancy brain, postpartum depression, and so on. Petty fights would escalate into absurd levels with past quarrels as fodder for more fights. There's a lot to get into, and I really need to talk this all over with my therapist. Otherwise, I…

We were together 9 years before tying the knot. With 2 years of marriage it will be 11 total. We've been in a long distance relationship for the last 7 years.

Been married going on 2 years. Can confirm. Before we were married, she was the most long-suffering, caring, and patient person I thought I ever knew. I thought I could keep trying my best for the rest of my life. Just for her and our daughter. Now, where once there was forebearance and supportiveness, there is only scorn and mocking derision. Every fight feels like WW3 and a pressure to capitulate my own principles and dignity, or else I will not get access to my own child. (I work abroad) In o…

I view the giving and earning of respect similar to two philosophies: The Golden Rule by Jesus/Confucius and "On Honor" according to Arthur Schopenhauer/Dinobot from Beast Wars. Jesus/Confucius: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (Treat others with respect, and you are bound to receive the same from others in return. I.E. the universe will return what you put out into it) A.S./Dinobot: "Honor has not to be earned; it must only not be lost." (Replace honor with respect or associa…

Good on the lady who wrote this article calling out the hypocrisy. I thought of donating once or twice in the last five years but never saved enough to make it. Sad to see that now, I will never support something so blatantly subverted from their original purpose.

I've faced discrimination as a man. Some subtle. Some overt. But, outright hatred? No. I've seen it happen to others, but I only saw that when I moved here to the West.

My late-disabled uncle had this to say about women like the one in this video, "Some people are lucky they were born women. If they were men, they'd either be dead, a cripple, or in prison."

You have valid points, and I agree that the subconscious bias you mention is indeed cognitive dissonance that many feminists are somewhat unaware of. Like you said, the human mind can be full of hypocrises and contradictions. (Often, a sign of many an unexamined thought process) We are all guilty of this lack of self-awareness in some way at some point in time, and I would like to think it's just part of being human. Maturity is when one critically analyzes one's cherished beliefs and understand…

I just want to add what I have long hypothesized when I stopped being a male feminist. Feminists in general, cannot conceive of being misandrist because they are true believers of their own propaganda. They believe, as a movement, that they supposedly "represent a march of equality among the sexes", therefore, the notion of being misandrist in their thoughts, words, and deeds never enters their minds. They just can't understand that thought. It is genuinely alien to many of them, and they are in…

It seems to serve lofty ideals at first glance, which many do strive to live up to. Sadly, like the MRA or any other movement, it can and has been co-opted to serve the needs of the less scrupulous and corrupt looking to abuse any power structure that seeks to exert influence on others. Not an indictment on the movements as a whole, just pointing out the similarities. Of the two dichotimies (feminism and MRA), MRA and MGTOW seem to differ by trying to reign in the darker impulses of its members.…

Reposting my copy of another wiser redditors response for relevance as another post about this exact topic was posted months ago. Saw another thread on this sub about this same subject a few weeks back, and their observation was brilliant. I wasn't able to save the name of the redditor, so I'll paraphrase it thusly: It's kind of true, if you think about it. While you're at it, better mention the anti-suffragette movement, too. Most in the movement were women and were the majority of women at the time.

And if you count the most recent example in the last hundred years of the white feather bearers shaming the men into wars, women set up the system men had to bear in order to procreate and keep their place in most societies that did not value men until they had proven themselves in some way, shape, or form.

Forgive my cynicism, but their troubles are of their own making, and they deserve to reap what they've sown. It's one thing to neglect the men of society from their political discourse, it's another thing entirely to blame and demonize them, time and again, for their own shortcomings (real and imagined) and advocating for the removal of mens influence in every facet of society and culture. The tone deaf nature of the article is clear when the author and their contemporaries are unable to clearly…

Pardon my presumptuousness, but you could be the emotional enabler/support, the emotional punching bag, and the one that wasn't having their emotional needs met in the relationship. All could be true at the same time. None of the conditions makes the others invalid or mutually exclusive. She/they probably not only made it impossible for you to take up any emotional real estate in the relationship because they only ever saw it as their space and saw that since you didn't use it as much (for whate…

My greatest hits for answering this room temperature feminist take. Hit them with the logical fallacy: "If men's problems are caused by the patriarchy, doesn't that disprove the notion that the system propagated by men uniquely advantages men? Especially at the cost of women's issues?" (Watch them try to justify this. It might be a hilarious mask-off moment) Ask them to enumerate all the advantages men have over women in society. (Be prepared to list all the ways that women are privileged that m…

Short answer: No. Long answer: No. And even if it was, the Patriarchy only exists because women/the female of the species selectively bred evolutionary traits in men that would be the most advantageous for themselves regardless of their thoughts on the matter. Patriarchy exists because of women's instinctive selective biases. Hence, women throughout history have created their modern bogeymen while biting the hand that feeds them and blaming their own creation. It would be funny if the irony wasn…

I was indoctrinated by modern feminist propaganda when I was young. When I grew older, I did personal analysis of feminism's principles, doctrines, ideologies, and practices. After careful consideration of the theories of feminism and their practices and after considering the arguments of MRAs and the manosphere, I no longer considered myself a feminist. All you have to understand that feminism does not fight for justice and equality is see how they treat those they claim to fight for and fight …

Wanna expose the common feminists cognitive dissonance? When they use the tactic of asking if you believe in equal rights for the sexes, and if you respond in the affirmative, they will claim you as a feminist. Like how Anita Sarkeesian once claimed a late night talk show host was a feminist simply because he professed to be egalitarian as far the treatment of the sexes (not genders) were concerned. Then, use their same logic against them. If they are so committed to the egalitarian treatment of…

To sum up what everyone else has stated in one word. I believe that Western Men marry because of Hope. The hope that they are the exception. The same hope that drives men to conquer the perils of the world for all of human history. That same spark of life that shouts its defiance against all odds, even in the face of certain doom; men, not merely Western men, have hope.

Now, remember those sperm banks can impregnate women, but all babies born will still be only female. I remember reading a very interesting graphic novel series called Y, the Last Man. It explored the dynamics of a world without men, save for one along with his pet, the last male capuchin monkey. It was treated as a post-apocalyptic scenario, but also a commentary on modern gender politics and dynamics. I never finished it, but I remember it being a very well-written and thought-provoking read. M…

When I was a nurse in my younger years. Got told by a male coworker to get out of the country and work elsewhere (like western countries) because, in Asia, male nurses don't tend to get promoted to higher positions compared to women because we were seen as "inferior nurses", despite the fact we are preferred in certain areas of the hospital due to our larger size and capacity to do manual labor. This was crystallized for me one day when one of our female supervisors told me and few other female …

I agree. Nobody should be arguing over gender issues using philosophy from the 1800s. Especially feminism. That holdover from the 1800s needs to stay buried in the past with all the other failed ideas like, Socialism.

Feminists forget that all of this coddling of women and ostracization of men can only lead to the division and degredation of society. Neglect of men and boys can only lead to men and boys being liabilities and non-contributors to society, since men are considered to have no inherent value other than what they can produce.

My hot take? Women have always been the patriarchy. They've dictated how they've selected for men/males of the species and propagated it throughout our species' history. (Albeit with hardly any forward planning and more natural selection) Everything from mate selection, resource gathering, willingness to protect familial members, mating competitiveness, compatibility, cultivation of desirable traits, etc. The biological pressure to produce viable mating partners has always come from the opposite…

I was once a feminist in my younger years. Still believe in a lot of the premises of "equality" and treating both genders with the same honest regard despite their obvious differences. That said, as I grew older, I realized most of the feminist talking points made little to no sense unless you ignored your cognitive dissonance, biases, objective reality/history, and just accepted everything on bad faith. The movement/sociopolitical philosophy as a whole just perpetuates misandry in the form of g…
