I have no idea what the details of this case are, and going by the media it sounds like no one else does either - not even the defendant. Yet the media have omitted any use of the word "alleged" and are therefore painting this guy as guilty. He may be guilty, who knows, but this is careless reporting and will no doubt effect public opinion. Good luck finding an unbiased jury.

Things like that can be detrimental in court, i mean the mother could say that the father has been psychologically manipulating the kids into this type of behavior and then it comes down to the judges decision. The only thing that is really certain is that the kids are traumatised. In NZ the kids would probably get psychologically assessed, depending on what the lawyer for child had to say. Poor kids.

Hard to say, it depends on the circumstances. If the person was somehow forced or incapable of saying no because they were too impaired to make decisions then it could be rape.
