Looks like you struck a nerve with this one but I have to agree with you. If a man's feeling that emotional about past traumas or family deaths I refuse to play "Lean on Me." That man needs a (Edit: paid, on the clock)therapist or GTFO. Being an emotional tampon for someone is never appreciated in the long run. I thought that was generally acknowledged here. I guess some among us still have a weakness for broken birds.

She doesn't need to play psychiatric detective and make inferences about his behavior either. She should be vetting every step of the way, then approving for further interaction or denying. That's it.

She's only been dating this bro for a month. A conversation about love languages is certainly not in order. It's way too early to be that invested. Worse case scenario it goes completely over his head, best case it teaches him to muffle and disguise bad personality traits our girl needs to know about. This dude sounds emotionally needy; OP needs to allow him to reveal himself while continuing to date others.

You feel like he's your soulmate. He's busy playing the field. This isn't someone you can be friends with. I mean you can, but you won't be getting what you want from the interaction and reading too much into what you do get. Meanwhile he'll be strutting around with the confidence only a fuckboi with a reliable fallback can muster. Keeping a stable of "friendly" exes is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Don't let him do that to you.

Gotta control that thirst sis. This thread from yesterday will tell you everything you need to know about "shy" men https://www.reddit.com/r/FemaleDatingStrategy/comments/eqrgk1/what_would_you_do_if_a_man_were_too_shy_or/

I love this. I was introduced to the concept of "radical acceptance" years ago, at my low point, and it helped me take my future into my own hands and changed my life 💜 In my experience it can work in abuse circumstances as well. My mindscript was "this is not my fault, but it IS my problem. So what now?" It worked for me.

The post above says this is not the place for BDSM talk.. so you thought a handy BDSM definitions guide would prove your point? Why does there always have to be one "but but what about me? I only entertain good Dominants?" "but I beat men and mindfuck them and they pay me lol eMpoWermEnT" So exhausting. This post is literally about you and your ilk and telling you to take it elsewhere. Have some self awareness. We get it. You're Open with your Sexuality and too dark (read alternative, cool, open…

Nah sis. "A lot of these types of threads make me worry that I’m more naive than I thought.." Full stop. Listen to yourself. A "good Dominant" ?! What the fuck is that? Why is that shit capitalized? You're literally using pornified language. And to suppose servicing some simpering pervy masochist is any better? Yikes sis. "Can we please not demonize the BDSM community" Seriously type "good Dominant" in the search bar and I'm sure you'll find plenty of people who will tell you what you want to he…

Girl I'm right there with you. Just had this convo when the man my friend has a long standing non-relationship with texted her out of the blue today: Me: what'd he say? Friend: "what's good" Me: oh and what did you say Friend: I told him I was good, just waiting on him to come marry me Me: 🤯 Some people are addicted to the drama and not self aware enough to know that their self esteem and standards are too low. If you try to talk about it they will get offended. My advice is don't try and meet m…

Came to say this. Someone once told me "forgiveness only benefits the wicked" and it resonated with me.

Can we get a "not-like-the-other-girls cool girltm" flair for the empowered strippers, sex work defenders and male pleasure apologists among us? I would consider it a subcategory of Pickmeisha. There are too many other subs they can visit to get asspats for turning tricks...

Its an issue because only a lvm would willingly embed himself in a serious relationship with you, either out of naivety or low standards, while you live with your "ex". but my options are about to be very limited A scarcity mindset will fuck you up every time. You are on the right track but you are trying to do too much at once. Do not entertain male attention unless you have ended your relationship with your current partner in all ways except child sharing. Then build up your independent queen …

Holy defensive reflex batman. If you are still living with the father of your children and telling suitors y'all are "roommates" you are NOT ready to start dating. Imagine a man telling you, while on a date, that he lives with his children AND their mother, as a family, but they aren't together anymore because she sucks, they're basically roomies, so you have nothing to worry about! 😒😑 The reverse isn't a good look either, sis. It's not queen shit. 9 out of 10 men will assume you're just steppin…

I think it's imperative to maintain an independent social calendar, and work on our personal development continually so that, if and when necessary, we can be 100% ready to walk at any time. We have to give up that Disney idea of love and become somewhat stoic. We should enjoy that person in the moment while being realistic about the probability of the arrangement lasting forever.

I'm with you sis. The book is great, the advice is timeless, and what OP is describing here is a self esteem issue. One I still struggle with admittedly. "He's just not that into you" isn't a personal judgment but a reality check, for our benefit. It's not meant to hurt our feelings but to help us make realistic assessments so we can strategize, which is what fds is all about.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
