It's harder though when you're really alone. As in no friends. I struggle daily to keep myself preoccupied enough that I don't think about my lack of friendships. I like to think I'm good in most social situations, but I'm terrible at breaking the ice. I'm really anxious when I go out alone because the thought of talking to a stranger and knowing what to say really mess with me. So, I moved to a new city about a year ago and it's been a struggle to make any friends and meet people. I just try to…

Then how do I do it? How do I just accept my fate and be confident about the things I can control? I know I have a lot to be proud of and I posses qualities and a lifestyle that most would kill for. I don't want to let my social shortcomings make me feel less than what I actually am, but just accept it and work towards it as another goal in life. I used to think I knew what confidence was and how to emulate it. But I guess I don't. What do I do?

Talking to people at work is a cinch, but everyone I work with is 30+ with a family and not likely to drink with me after hours. Not because they aren't nice, but that's just not their life anymore. So I certainly try to get out there as much as possible and I try to talk with people whenever it comes up. It's tough and I find myself searching for things to say, …

I appreciate your insight. I don't value my self worth on what any woman thinks. I don't go to the gym for girls. I didn't graduate college and good a good job for girls. It's stuff I do for me. I can't deny that I long for the companionship, but ultimately everything I've done is for me. And that's how everyone really should live their life. Get healthy and lose weight for themselves. Learn a skill and make a living for themselves. It's really a no-brainer. It can be a little disheartening thou…

Hey man thats a great story. As someone Whos introverted im right there with you. I like to read but i envy that you can talk about literature with such confidence and knowledge. Its funny because ive got my shit together with a degree, good job, 401k, and all that stupid shit at 24 but when all you really know is tech stuff, guitar/rock, and video games i personally never know what to talk about with girls. Like you im at this point where its time to focus on me. Read more book, write more musi…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
