If a grown man has to get his friend to tell you he likes you, then he has no business dating anyone. I have no patience for childish shit like this; they need to grow a pair and start acting like an adult.

I don't have words to describe this situation...it's so bizarre. How on earth is a guy's mother so heavily involved in his dating life?!?!? This guy has more than a few screws loose if he is harassing this poor woman like this for over a date where he stood her up. The worst thing is his entitlement in thinking that this woman owes him her time. He's lucky that she hasn't called the cops on his crazy ass for stalking and harassment. With dating these days, women will have to start doing psycholo…

That pretty much hits the nail on the head. There's a mob mentality where everyone wants to see Will Smith practically burnt at the stake for one ill advised action. This is also combined with the fact this incident is forcing people to see Will as a flawed human being instead of "staying in his place" by maintaining the stereotypical non-threatening black guy they could see themselves hanging out with. If these people are really honest with themselves, they cannot handle the disconnect between …

They need to lie and create this delusion because it's easier than facing the harsh truth that sex work is a dead-end and dangerous profession which will only result in trauma and exploitation for the woman.

You seriously have to question that with the way they treat us. Dating is a dangerous minefield for women these days. The scary part about it is that a lot of men can disguise their hostility towards women under a mask of humour and "teasing".

Fictional women: Peggy Carter from Agent Carter, Olivia Benson from Law and Order SVU, Sara Lance and Ava Sharpe from the show DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Robyn McCall from The Equalizer, Eve Dallas from the JD Robb In Death mystery suspense book series, Captain Michael Burnham from Star Trek Discovery, Frankie Drake, Trudy Clarke, Mary and Flo from Frankie Drake Mysteries (Canadian mystery show on CBC--man I miss that show), Kelly Duff and Samantha Wazowski from the CBC show Pretty Hard Cases. $50k is a pittance when you consider what the woman will have to sacrifice when she has a baby. This is a change that will affect her for the rest of her life.

From reading his post, he will definitely leave this poor woman as soon as she has the kid claiming some bullshit excuse that their "spiritual connection" has died or something like that. She will be left alone to struggle with the responsibility of being a single mother. For all that is good, I really hope this woman dumps him and gets far away as possible from this guy. Staying with this guy will result in this woman losing her freedom and sanity.

Even people who don't have great genetics would have a broader pool and better dating opportunities than this dude. It's about being a decent person who knows how to work with what they have instead of whining about they don't have or what they feel they are entitled to get.

That's the thing that these guys don't understand. No sane woman would go to the trouble, risk and aggravation of meeting up with a complete stranger for the sake of getting lousy $20 meal. Not everything is about money. Women have a lot more at stake than men in this situation. Besides if guys are so concerned that paying for dinner is going to financially bankrupt them, then maybe they shouldn't be dating.

She was being way too polite and gracious to this guy. She should've sent a copy of his response to his employer. But, maybe, it's better that she responded the way she did. It shows that this guy is a complete and total entitled nut case compared to her professionalism.

It probably is control thing for a lot of these types of men. It's a basic thing but an easy thing to use against women to humiliate them or put them in their place in some type of twisted way.

It's good you made it that far. I quit reading after the "fine ass" part. That was just truly sad and a serious commentary on our educational system and the way he was raised if he thinks it's appropriate to approach women this way.

There's no need to apologize for cussing. If I were living in the States, I'd be cussing and raging too. At this point, women's rights and freedoms are being systemically stripped away and it is damn frightening. The Handmaid's Tale is now becoming reality instead of fiction.

Not only that, it's safer, lot less risk to you and orgasms are always guaranteed. For women, casual sex can be a dangerous gamble where you can get diseases or assaulted for the slim chance of a possible orgasm with a stranger. Also, having sex is an intimate act where you're at your most vulnerable emotionally. That is also too much of a risk to share your body with someone that is careless and callous with your feelings.

The fifth paragraph accurately describes a friend I know that whines about his mother, his landlord and everything under the sun. In his narratives, he always is the victim, unmotivated to change his life and is looking for someone to use as a free therapist as he sucks the energy out of them. After being drained and depressed after listening to his complaints/meltdown, I've had to stop speaking to him for my own sanity and peace of mind. It's not only gross but so sad and depressing to think this woman has so little self-respect and self-value to think that disgusting term is a term of endearment towards her.

I believe the term "scrotaticity" (sorry if I spelled it wrong) applies to this clown. At this point, he'll be lucky to get a blow-up doll let alone a "real" woman. If the blow-up doll somehow came to life by some miracle and had to deal with him, she'd reject this fool, too.

Sadly, I learned that the hard way when my ex came back into my life after being gone for seven years. His lame excuse was that he "found" my number. I was in a vulnerable place at the time and found out that he was up to his same old tricks (ie. no steady address and shady history) before I finally blocked him. I have enough stress in my life and don't need anymore drama to add to it.

I just took the test and found that I'm a INFJ-T, which is very accurate, especially the part about seeking authentic relationships and being very reserved about opening up to people.

That term makes me laugh because it's a fancy way in some cases to describe spoiled brats that need a kick in the ass ...in other words, these men-children.

That's why you have 40, 50 and 60 year old guys trying to be "actors" or " writers" and still living in their parents basement or on welfare. Oddly specific, I know :)

If they are making only that amount of money per month, women would be better working in retail, fast food or literally any other place for more safety and less stigma that they would get from selling sex.

There seems to be a real trend these days to actively avoid accountability for questionable behaviour under the guise of being open minded and accepting to everything even if it actively harms others. For example, mental illness and the toxic behaviours that sometimes come from it can be challenging to deal with. But, at some point, you have to take responsibility for yourself and not expect people to tolerate it.

So...attempted murder during sex is the norm these days ?!? At this point, women are better off being celibate because the state of modern dating is truly messed up.

For point #1, this is real. Unfortunately, it's not politically correct to say this for fear of being seen as a heartless monster. I have seen this happen in my job as an administrator when these types of men have an attitude of entitlement and that it's beneath them to take a survival job to help themselves. You can't help someone that is unwilling to help themselves.

That's the main issue in our city with the pandemic going on. There are several encampments in our city parks and there is a big controversy over city staff and police attempting to remove them. These individuals (mainly men) were offered spaces in shelters and hotels for temporary housing but a lot of them refused the offer. The harsh fact is a lot of these men don't want to follow the shelter's rules of no drug/alcohol use and curfew so they would prefer to live in the parks to do whatever the…

The fact that these men are willing to fuck any woman that walks is very disturbing and shows they have absolutely no standards. Call me crazy but I prefer men that are a lot more selective and don't act like animals in heat. Community dick is gross and disgusting.

Everyone will eventually die alone; that's no threat, that's reality. The real fact is if you choose to settle for an unsatisfying relationship when you're alive and life is short to do that.

This guy seems to forget that women don't have to date certain men if we choose not to do so. Unfortunately, his attitude is that women are always supposed to bend and accommodate to the whims of men. Maybe, he should consider what he has to offer women before opening his mouth to criticize us.

Yeah, he could broken up with her or blocked her number so he wouldn't receive her texts. There is no question that he meant to physically harm her and it's a matter of time before this happened to the girlfriend. No normal or sane person would do that as a reasonable solution to this conflict.

There should be an audio option where you could hear your voice read this post because this is hilarious as hell!!! I'm still laughing at the part where it says, "30 year old boy with the body type of a victorian child striken with The Consumption". It's true. Not only do they hate, they are threatened that we may be actual competition and can, and most often will, outclass them in every area. Those type of people have a hard time when they see someone that doesn't match up to their preconceived stereotypes and try to "put you back in your place" as a result.

I don't think it's lack of awareness in these types of guys. It's the attitude of entitlement and ego that makes them behave this way. They like to pretend to play the clueless, innocent guy to get sympathy and make us look paranoid. They know exactly what they're doing and they behave like this because as men they feel that are entitled to have your attention and time whenever they please. That's why get so hostile towards when we ignore them; it's a blow to their fragile ego that we don't give…

It's true. When you're in your teens and 20s, you're still maturing and starting to form your identity as an independent person apart from your family. You can't have a stable and healthy relationship if you're not mature enough to know yourself as a complete person rather than being enmeshed with someone and taking on their needs and wants. Also, there is so much more for you out there rather than being someone's girlfriend. This is the time where you should be meeting different people, working…

I find when men say to women, "You're too intimidating", that can be translated to mean, "You're too smart and strong to be controlled and manipulated by me". Most men are threatened by strong women.

Not to mention the constant references to her "inner goddess". The book was so badly written that I had to stop reading a quarter of the way through and I always try to finish any book I start reading. Doing my laundry was more erotic and sexier than that book. You hit the nail right on the head with your comment and that's the point that I was trying to make in my earlier reply to another comment. It really pisses me off that these women (mainly white, middle class) are so clueless to their privilege. In a developed, first-world countries, there is no excuse for women to be willing sex workers. It's one thing if she is forced into by human trafficking or by extreme poverty but I have no sympathy for these women that all of these privileges, advantages and opportunities to establish a stable career and still choose this kind of work. There is no reason for it all and it pisses me off.

This woman needs to return this fool back to his parents and have some strong words with them because he obviously wasn't raised right. That is, if he was even raised by humans because from the sounds of this story, this man (and I use this term loosely) might have been raised in the jungle because only animals would behave like this. Although, that may be an insult to animals because they may be cleaner than this disgusting fool. To sum this up, nope. Just nope.

His complaint makes no sense; why on earth would any woman spend almost all their time and energy to prepare themselves for dates just for the sake of getting dinner? I can go out to dinner any time I choose to and would enjoy it more without the added stress of having to make polite conversation for some pervy idiot guy. No woman has time for that nonsense.

I'm coming more aware of this fact a lot more these days. As awful as this pandemic is, it has made me aware that my time is a finite and valuable resource. As a result, I'm spending time and attention with people whose company I enjoy and limiting my contact with people that drain my emotional energy. To use a cliche, life is short and you have to use your time wisely.

I love that video and the song; the way he sings that song with such passion and longing...it's enough to get me and my imagination going. It's okay for her to brag about unemployed because she has a wealthy family that will always enable her lifestyle. Most women don't have the social privilege of being white, wealthy and conventionally attractive so we have to work much harder to achieve half of what she has which, in my opinion, makes us a lot better off in the long run.

Women are taught not to be assertive in expressing our sexual needs and preferences. It's a warped dynamic where we are encouraged to be sexual but only in terms of serving and pleasing men. We constantly have to walk the line of being innocent and pure but being sexually available at all times and it's exhausting. When women dare to deviate from the socially acceptable script of female sexuality, we are punished by men and some women for daring to stand up for ourselves because it threatens the…

Sadly, it seems to be the norm in modern relationships of men wanting to have their cake and eat it too. They want the unquestioning loyalty from women but are unwilling to provide the same loyalty to them. There are no boundaries and standards of commitment because they are too scared to be vulnerable so they try to assert their power by using porn and cheating with other people.

Actually, that would be a great idea especially for the young women like the one that made the original post. If this group had been around when I was younger, it would saved me from making a lot of mistakes and a lot of heartache. Sadly, any joker off the street can call themselves journalists these days. Responsible and unbiased reporting seems to be a thing of the past these days with the massive amount of online magazines.

Well, that pretty much summarizes what views their magazine truly represents: racism and misogyny.

I may be old but I'm shocked that they would write such an article in a teen magazine. It sounds silly to say but times definitely changed.

Tell your friend to run away from this guy and don't look back. You could set up a plan with her to safely break up with this guy but she needs to get out of this relationship ASAP before it gets worse. This is no time to beat around the bush or be polite about it with your friend. Being blunt with her about this relationship could possibly save her life. If she refuses to listen you, then there's nothing you can do. You can't force people to change their situation unless they are willing to do …

It's toxic in their eyes because women are standing up for themselves by refusing to be abused, mistreated and manipulated by creepy men. They can't handle it because their power and so-called strength comes at the expense of degrading women. They realize that more women are discovering their strength and they are threatened by it, which in their warped minds, is seen as "toxic".

I love Nora Roberts books as well. Her books have a bit more substance in terms of the characters and deal with suspense as well as the romance. She also writes the In Death romance suspense books under the name of JD Robb and the lead female character, Eve Dallas is a kick-ass, strong no-nonsense cop who solves mysteries in 22th century New York City. And the male characters are terrific as well. I've recently started to read romance novels again for the escape (you gotta get through the pandem…

I couldn't agree more with sentiment. The process of online dating is a waste of time because 90% of the people are there to just get attention and play games. They mainly tell you what you want to hear so that they can keep you hooked and manipulate you. You can't really know a person's true intentions until you spend a lot of time with them in real life and that's not guaranteed either.

I just read the story of this guy online and that is one hell of a story! Those poor women involved in this mess need to form their own support group to deal with the trauma of dealing with this guy. Shady as hell does not even begin to describe this dude. Also, I am just amazed by the amount of energy, time and effort that went into cheating on all these women at the same time. Just when I think there is not a depth that has been stooped to, stories like these change my mind. Hopefully, there w…

Exactly! I started dating when I went to college and I couldn't understand the point of it. The process is as pleasant as getting your teeth drilled at the dentist; it's awkward and unpleasant for everyone involved. There are a lot of other things I'd rather do than put myself through that.

I've come to that conclusion myself as well. There are way too risks involved with dating these days. You don't want to worry that you may end up as a statistic or a Dateline story if you decide to take the chance of dating someone. There's way too much unstable and cruel people out there. I've seen some of the messages men send to women online and they can get hostile and nasty. It's just not worth it.

I think the song "No Scrubs" by TLC would apply in this case. When I read this, I keep thinking of the line where it goes "sitting in your best friends ride trying to holler at me" :-) That guy definitely applies in this case.

And this is exactly the reason why I quit online dating...it's not worth the stress and heartache.

I'm not as disturbed about his diet (even though that is pretty gross...I mean, who doesn't know how to cook at that age??) as I am about his movie storyline. Not only is a waving, glaring red flag, that could be a potential real life future Dateline story in the making. Potential women should not only walk away, they should run, roller blade, take a jet plane away from this dude and not look back.

This!!! And what IS it with choking during sex??!? That is scary as hell and disturbing. It seems to have become the norm rather than just a fetish.

I'd rather be alone than be trapped in a miserable and dysfunctional relationship. When it comes down the brutal truth, we are and will be alone. If you don't take care of yourself, no one else will.

If this fool ever says that to you, this is the perfect opportunity to smile and say, "Oh sweetie, that's not the threat you think it is."

I couldn't agree more. At this late stage of my life, I'm finally starting to reevaluate how I relate to men after going through a lot of crappy and destructive relationships. It's still a big learning curve and I'm still tempted to fall back into old habits because I feel so lonely. But I'm realizing that it's better to be alone and have your dignity and self respect rather than settling for relationships that add no value to my life (romantic or friendship).

It would be definitely a safe assumption that she isn't still friends with this guy. If you were her, would you want to see this person again after he raped you?

The risks of online dating always outweigh the benefits for women these days. The men on these sites are perverted or outright hostile to women. It's not worth the stress and aggravation to go through the torture that is online dating. I don't know if this is appropriate to list this but there is an Instagram site I follow called Sarey Tales where she shows the vile messages she gets from men on the online dating sites and ends up using them for art. It's fascinating and incredible to watch the …

I definitely agree with that. When I was 19, I had never dated anyone and was quite sheltered and naive. There is no way that you have the maturity and knowledge to consider a lifetime commitment like that. You're just a child at 19. I would even farther and suggest that women do not marry until their thirties. At that time, you will have hopefully at least had some life experience and established your career and financial goals. Of course, this is no hard and fast rule because everyone establis…

It's a no win situation for women: if you do compliment him, they will interpret it as flirting and start to harass you or if you don't, then they'll call you a bitch and be verbally or physically abusive towards you. It's sense of entitlement towards women that men are taught to have is the problem. To the majority of them, we are seen as objects to be used whenever they feel like it and they get outraged when women don't bend over backwards to accommodate them. You see this in popular culture …

You've hit the nail on the head about level of risk when it comes to dating. There is absolutely no guarantee that you will find a decent person out there to spend your time with. Time is something that you can never get back and from my experiences with online dating and past relationships, it's not worth the aggravation and stress. If you don't take care of yourself, no one else will.

That's outright nasty 🤢 I personally don't mind men with beards as long as it's kept clean and well trimmed. Some guys forget that the beard has to be washed and conditioned like the hair on their head. It's a basic hygiene requirement.

Within that, there is a sense of entitlement and laziness from these types of men. They think that deserve positive validation simply because they're men instead of realizing that they have to make an effort to be a worthwhile person by having concrete life goals and plans and actively going out there to achieve them. While a person's character is important in finding a romantic partner, it's also naive and simplistic to expect a woman to fall in love on that sole basis. Having some type of goal…
