Yup, you've hit the nail on the head - my life has barely changed (I mean, it's gotten easier at least) without him in it, but I can guarantee that his life is worse without me in it. I feel like women are always expected to bring so much more to the table - in the past, we were traditionally expected to be caretakers, nurturers etc. but in this day and age, we're expected to do this AND work and be career driven.
