I mean, that's been my experience too but from everything I'm reading here...it's more likely we just didn't notice because they're sneaky and masters at it?

I've had an unfortunately huge number of LVMs I've dated and never noticed any of them doing this...which horrifies me now because they were the worst of the worst LVMs in every way...how the heck did I not notice? Was I just that freaking oblivious!? I've never been great with eye contact in general but if I ever dare to try and date again (unlikely) at least now I know to be aware of this! Thank god for FDS helping me get woke now, even at the age of 40!

I went on a date with a guy who was 47, reasonably attractive, had a nice house, multiple cars, bragged about how good the insurance was at his job he'd been at forever (I had mentioned I didn't have insurance). I googled him and found his linkedin and yes, on paper, he seemed like a catch. I later found out he'd never been married and his longest relationship was less than a year, saying "maybe I've just been waiting for you!". As if. Learned he was going on tons of dates every week...he claime…

I'd always been one of those women who HAD to be in a relationship....even a terrible one. I just couldn't fathom being alone.
