I really wish I could help. I am dealing with a wife with mental issues and it's really tough. You are stuck sharing a rough with them until the court grants somebody a custody arrangement because leaving = abandonment but living with them is a daily threat.

Eight years is rough, and it isn't going to cut loose easily. What you put in your body should always be your decision. Cut loose the feeling someone with a chemically altered brain left you for logical reasons.

Everyone handles the death of their relationship differently from an emotional and psychological view. The only path that matters is yours now. Do your best to focus on what your clean, productive path does for you. You need to be the best person you can be for yourself and do your best to not build your image in contrast to hers.
