From my experience, the impression I have when I hear these approaches is that the person is not being spontaneous or authentic and just repeating something they memorized from the internet. Are you going to the party as a couple or as friends? This can really make a difference. If you are going as a couple, it is disrespectful with u. If you are going as friends, there's not much u can do except trying to get her attention back.

I disagree with others saying you went too strong. She was definitely testing you. I know that goes against what everybody advises, but don't listen to what she says but pay attention to how she acts. Women do play games like that sometimes, and you may have to ignore the words. In my opinion, she was waiting to see if you have the guts to say that you intent not to be just friends. It is definitely not a rejection.
