This is the point I always want to bring up when people are discussing crime rates...a good chunk of the crimes never actually happen! And minorities are easy to target, of course the rates are going to be skewed when police are like this.

It isn't quite stand-up, but I find the girls on "Broad City" to be hilarious, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler always do it for me. Outside of those few examples, I agree with your assesment. It might just be that comedic acting is a better platform than stand-up for certain types of humour.

I thought it was funny, the one dude was white knighting so hard he was getting pushback from the woman on the podcast, as he kept talking over her and interrupting her. It seemed like he was projecting pretty hard, as he admits to being sexist and racist, and attempts to put blame on society for his own failings.

My opinion is that realistic amount of women in the positions she mentioned is between 17% and 50%. Once you subtract homemakers and mothers, you will arrive at a number less than 50%...I'm not sure why things have seemed to settle at around 17%, but it is possible that is close to the number of ambitious women out there, making it not really sexist at all to have those kinds of representations.

There is a thing called hazard pay, which makes most dangerous jobs pay substantially more than that of a school teacher or social worker for example. Not to mention that overtime is often used in hard labor, whereas salary is standard for most service position jobs. There are high school graduates earning 6 figures in the Bakken Oil fields in ND. High risk means high reward most of the time.

The wage gap still exists And so does the fact that in order to have children, many women must take some time off of work. Men and women are different, i would not expect their wages to be equal, especially once you consider the careers they avoid (high risk, high reward positions - logging, mining etc).

I still don't understand how newspapers can print names and photos for sex offenses, before people are convicted. How many lives have they ruined with their bad reporting? Just wait until they are convicted to print the name and photo, thats all I am asking. An arrest means almost nothing, you can be arrested for anything these days.
