First of all, I’m sorry this happened. I’m sure it’s really scary for you. It’s likely he’s just a terrible person and is hoping to get some reaction even if negative because he can’t get it otherwise. If it were me, I’d probably report him to bumble and drop it. Even if it’s off-line you can still report it. Keep the messages.

I saw two situations with guy friends this past week where I could tell the women they were just being polite/friendly with no interest, but when they walked away, they were like oh yeah they want me. You really can’t win.

2021 is the year I get equal or more effort than I’m putting out.

I saw this same question being asked by a guy on a Facebook group! I mean, it was too much to even go into.

This is a good reason to follow the rule of waiting to see if they’re high quality/invested in you before you become a “girlfriend” or have sex. If they’re not interested enough to wait or invest time in you, they’ll walk. Sucks but then you’re not a toy to play with while they’re waiting for “the one.”

I’m so tired of guys being so low-effort. It’s over a 100 with humidity here in Florida, and a guy asked me out for a bike ride as a first date. I didn’t even answer. My friends think I’m being ridiculous and old-fashioned. But, no, if that’s the best effort he can make at the beginning, can you imagine what dating him would look like?

You know it’s so true. Guys walk around with swagger and think they’re hot shit no matter what; while we second-guess ourselves constantly, have low self-esteem, and worry and try to accommodate everyone but ourselves. It’s a great mantra to remember when we get down on ourselves.

I think I’m his case it’s “nice guy” syndrome. If you asked him if he’d date a women who was unattractive and complained all the time, he’d say no way, even though that’s him in a nutshell. I do know what you’re saying though. Guys expecting things to be handed by them is why we end doing all the work while they lay there like lazy lions. Well did, before we started uniting on this sub!

I do too. She was really nice and was really into him.

I have a male acquaintance like this. He’s super short, unattractive, and whiny. And yet he always crushes on the hot women a lot younger than him, then complains about how no one ever likes him. Once an actually cute woman his age had a crush on him and wanted to go out, and not only did he reject her, he was mean to her about it. Then went right back to complaining.

I live in Florida and see a LOT of this as you can imagine. And yes, they do think they’re hot stuff and that’s why the younger ones want them. I work at a library and I’ve learned never to assume a guy is a kid’s grandfather. These guys marry younger women and then start having kids again in their 50s/60s. Ugh. I’m sure their older kids are thrilled. And they’re probably older than the guy’s wife.

@saucypiece called threesome up earlier in the thread. Now that you’ve mentioned he invited this “sexy” roommate out on the date, that’s definitely what it is. Sexy “roommate” I’m sure is his girlfriend and they swing. She probably called saying she was on the way and that’s when he awkwardly and seeming out of nowhere blurted out how hot he thinks she is, setting it up. It was obviously planned and predatory. Block his number.

I was too! It was like it was fate to see this post and I didn’t text him. I’ve been coming back and looking at it and I haven’t so far.

I have never sent a nude thank goodness but I’ve gotten plenty. I have a sense of humor about it, though. When I get a nude (happens a lot less now I’ve gotten smarter about how to handle myself on the dating sites), I put it in a special folder I have in my phone and when I’m with my girlfriends we play who’s the grossest, and who’s dick is most photoshopped. It’s pretty fun lol!

What wonderful pics. It’s like those are photo machine pics where you get the strip remember? It’s so obvious it’s real, not faked for publicity.

Good point. When I was young and naive (meaning when I first got on dating sites a couple of years ago), I would give guys my phone number thinking we’d talk for a bit and set up a date. Nope. Almost always they’d get gross the minute we started talking. Now I’ve learned to not give out phone numbers until after we’ve made plans and met. I think the type of guys you’re talking about are the ones who think they’re slick. And it probably does work better for them.

I think guys go into the whole nsa thing thinking they’re going to have lots of sex with lots of women and really party it up. I think they do meet women occasionally who go along with that and want it too. But for the most part, especially on dating sites where they’re plainly stating their intentions, they don’t get much response and find it’s not as easy as they think. I’m never matched with a guy on the sites who hit me up immediately who doesn’t sound pathetic and desperate.

When I didn’t have insurance I used Planned Parenthood and they were excellent about this. I had a burn on my arm from ironing and she sat me down and talked about it to be sure I was ok. My gynecologist now asked no questions whatsoever. I had to push to have myself thoroughly screened for my sexual health. I have a standing donation to Planned Parenthood set up each month partially because my experience was so positive. I say partially because there’s so many other reasons to support them.

One of them should be sitting in his litter box (because of all the bathroom selfies they take).

Yeah I can totally see that. I have a feeling there’d be a lot of partners surprised to find they’re in a polygamous or ethnically non monogamous relationship.

That’s awesome! I love it. I had a guy try to get me to go along with his open relationship a couple of days ago. He said he hasn’t had much luck amazingly and he didn’t have any with me obviously. I was thinking to myself that no matter what his partner looks like, she’s probably swimming in dick while he can’t even get anybody to talk to him. Probably his idea also the idiot.

Agreed. There are so many guys who come across as hostile in their profiles. Maybe the reason you’re so bitter is because even though you’re a 5 or less, you only swipe right on 8-10s, then wonder why they’re all bots and cam girls. And also because you hit up women right away for sex. And also because you have no conversational skills or refuse to pull the trigger and meet. And then you immediately act defensive and rude when you do match because you’re assuming the worst. As you can tell I’m a…

Woman here... I’m not so sure these so-called “bad boys” are deliberately trying to exploit or actively looking for ways to do so. I think it’s just that, like me, they’re living their own life, and if you fit in, you fit in. They’re confident and not going to change unless given a good reason to do so. And having a sense of humor as you give in your example is always attractive. Also, it’s unexpected to say something like that instead of the usual cliches. Doing unexpected things keeps you on y…
