... Wow, I idolized Wheaton... I'm actually really upset by this. Maybe it's not about slamming women into the dirt but realizing that shit goes both ways. Some people in here just want equality for all. /u/wil

Then you are just being hypersensitive. His message is good but you are tainting it with a title that in the scheme of things does not matter. 'Jimmy does amazing work for charity, donated all his time and money to feeding the homeless and building habitats for humanity. Jimmy is black.' - Jimmys race is completely immaterial to what he is doing but some people would turn in disgust at that part. And we shun those people as racists. I have blown it out of proportion to make a point but I think y…

Does not really matter does it? Today is the 29th (where I am at least), just a few days before the most depressing season and most likely to bring about suicide for men who are single, divorced, have an illness. It is never a bad time to offer words of support to those who might need them. Thanks Giving is just a reason to do so.

It is true, educated people watch this show with scrutiny or ignore it completely. They mostly do terrible puff pieces about rowdy neighbors or how car 'hoons' are going to bring about the apocalypse.

I am not bothered by this, it is a disgusting thing to do and now he gets to deal with it. My only concern is that this should work both ways and i doubt it would if a male had the same situation presented to them.

You would need to buy the book and see if it lists a citation for the figures. If there is no citation then it is just conjecture. If there is a citation I would be interested in reading the source material. Even so, if the book is nearly 14 years old then the source would be similar or older. I don't think it could be branded as fact.

'Published January 19th 2000 by Gurze Books' So it is nearly 14 years old but the figures appear to being used as fact?

Context? Seems like it is in response to something.

Wait, why was the boyfriend arrested? I can read that he has priors so... suspicion? Possession of child porn? I would like to know if he is facing charges.

If anyone is not sure of the context it is an Australian website designed to help with depression and anxiety. I think it is a great initiative. Australians have had the man up mentality for a very long time and only recently has it become acceptable to be introspective. Dr. Brian Ironwood to the rescue! http://www.mantherapy.org.au Edit: Apparently this thing is global too, that is a great step forward.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
