Rather than "I'm used to it" say "It's all right. Trust me, it's all right". It's like a sales call, show them what they're missing then take it away before they have a chance to say yea or nay.

RE "You don’t need everyone to like you." My dad always put it "If more than half the people you meet like you, you're doing better me."

Maybe so, but you have enough baggage to carry from him, don't pile on more that he hasn't earned.

You should have filed an EEO complaint, they wouldn't dare fire you once that was on file.

Even that may not be enough. A friend of mine went through a messy divorce, ending up with him getting every other weekend. He would show up just as expected and she would refuse to let the kids go. The court didn't care and told him there was nothing they could do about it. But he kept showing up and making notes about it, for any potential legal battle. The very last time he showed up she started hitting him in the face and head, followed him outside still hitting him in the back of his head, …

In the state of Ohio ANY sex act is a class 2 violation of the rules of conduct. There is no "rape" per se, but if you're caught you both go to the hole. EDIT: Also, prison rape is the exception, modern prisons are constructed such that there are very few places that aren't easily observed by custody staff. If rape is taking place in a prison it's because of staff not doing their job and they will eventually get sued. The vast majority of inmates just do their time.

Back in my CO days I was working the LC block (the prison within the prison) when we had this wiry little fucker almost work his hand out of 1 of the cuffs. Two of us were having trouble stopping him from trying, and I was loathe to applying some REAL force on him since there was a Captain standing right behind me. Captain Jackson stepped up, put one little squirt of State-issue pepper in his eyes and he melted into a helpless mass of inmate.

They provide only a white-list of groups to access. They do a pretty good job of dropping child-porn groups and users are welcome to submit offensive groups.

A solution to that is to use a premium usenet provider, such as Giganews. I've been a subscriber for 10 years and have never seen anything objectionable.

Forget the mother. This Sunday go see your friend in rehab (Saturday's usually family day) and express your support. If she cares about you it'll brighten her days until she gets released. If she doesn't it'll brighten your day knowing you've done all you can and the right thing. But the important thing to remember here is it ain't your fault.

Sure I agree not in the case of an acquittal, but wrongly incarcerated, absolutely. Besides, it's a free mans right to file a civil suit against anyone he wants. Might send a message to the idiots who keep re-electing this crook.

I can understand not wanting to be patted down but I was a CO in a max-security joint AND I have hip replacements so getting patted down was a daily event for me. No big deal.

"A violation is not established merely by evidence showing sporadic use of abusive language, gender-related jokes, and occasional teasing" Bullshit, I know of a case where a female employee made the comment "God, I'm horny", the male said "Well, maybe you should get some dick then", and she successfully sued for an EEO violation.

I worked in a max security prison for 8 years, this guy is telling the truth. Prison still sucks but it's not like you see in the movies.

There is such a thing as Dissolution of Marriage in some states. It doesn't cost much, no judge involved, but both parties have to agree to it and have no claim on each others property. About the ex...my good buddy remarried his ex-wife and they lasted about as long as they did the first time. I don't think it's a good idea.
