I believe this to be German spelling of the name. Possibly this person you’re replying to is not North American?

What I've read from Canadian law... is that the one who makes less money is entitled to spousal support for a period no shorter than half of the duration of the marriage, and no longer than the full duration of the marriage. I don't think her getting spousal support for 2-4 days is inappropriate.

Yeah... yeah... this is the line that made me close the browser window and head back here to see if anyone else calling BS. I'm curious to see these examples.

I watched a moment play out like this at a concert once. A little scrawny guy was taunting and laughing at a really tall guy. He wouldn’t stop and then took a fighting stance and tried to kick the big guy. The tall guy faked a punch with his left and then carrried through with his right and the scrawny guy took it in the face and fell to the floor and didn’t get up. The big guy continued his conversation with his friends. Nobody intervened. It seemed like it made sense.

But that's just it. These people feel that it is a proper medical procedure. They're convinced that it's nothing big, just a simple snip.

I think your last point really touches on the difficulty. My family feels as though I'm taking the approach that I'm whole and they're incomplete. I'd like them to just maybe not make the decision for an infant, and when their son grows to be of age, he can voluntarily get it done. Although, I'm not sure who would ever sign up for the procedure given the choice.

Then I'm interesting to know the large reasons for you opposing it. I'd love to trigger this reaction in some people I know. I feel like some of the biggest proponents are the dads who are circumcised and want to do it to their son as well. I can't change what happened to my nephew. But I can continue the good fight against my brother in law.

For the record, I don't think anyone hates you, or other men who are. I think there's significant disdain for people making "personal decisions" about the integrity of their children's bodies for negligible benefit. It's just baffling that everyone appropriately responds with disgust if you mention bypassing breast cancer by removing a young girls breasts. But to remove a piece of the penis to... not meaningfully impact anything... I'm glad you've come to oppose it. Thank you :)

Sorry dude... it's a rough topic. So you're someone who's been circumcised and are now against it? Thank you for sharing. What eventually made you oppose it? I want to trigger that in as many as I can...

I don't know if you have personal info on your reddit, and would feel inappropriate posting this. But I'm curious to know if you're circumcised. My nephew was born, we knew it was going to be a boy. I made very clear my feelings against circumcision. And they mostly shrugged it off and decided he should be like his father. The number of arguments my wife and I had with them were ridiculous... I don't understand why I had to fight so hard to keep my nephew's penis intact. Turns out they completel…

I can confirm that Wil Wheaton has the smuggest looking face possibly on the planet. He's a surefire contender for the title. The parallel I think I'm drawing is just an irate person running their mouth off in some volatile and overboard way. I mean, it looked like a verbal lashing from them, and just another verbal lashing again from you. If there was a meaningful argument made against Joss Whedon without shitting in his ice cream, this wouldn't be the shitstorm it is. He wouldn't have been cha…

Interesting to me. Because the question doesn't indicate that she is incapacitated. It says that she's had 5 drinks, and is off-balance when walking. Then states almost immediately after that he "Is tipsy too." The word "too" in that statement seems to indicate that their definition of tipsy is slurred speech and trouble walking. So I'm under the interpretation that he's equally intoxicated.

Its just nice because it seems there's an agenda to counter every point made by an MRA. But it was interesting to me thinking that there would be no contest here. This was a sad thing to do to those boys.

I appreciate the post. But it roused an interesting thought to me. I think this is a particular entry that both Feminist and MRA could agree upon. It's absolutely inappropriate that these boys were punished.

I suspect it is both things. I do notice some belligerent arse-hats among our ranks. But also there's an inherent notion that man cannot be discriminated against or victimized. As if we're some master gender that is immune to it somehow.

I find this evokes a strange hyperbole. If these are characteristics of men, they seem like good characteristics. Is this to say all people who aren't men don't have this characteristics? Obviously non-male members of the species are not living up to these standards that man uphold, and so this sign would like the non-male members of our society to be more like males? I'm dancing around the topic here. But this sign reads to me like "Man are good and honorable, and all others are not."

I ummm... I don't know how to handle this. This got way deeper than I was expecting. Dude, if this is therapeutic to you to talk about it... please do. I've never interacted with anything like this before. But I'm willing to give you a read and support. This is really messed up and unfortunate. I don't suspect a lot of people go through this kind of thing. I don't know what to do other than say your child shouldn't be with this woman. Agreed... and in defense of my wife... she was even being discrete... despite the fact that I don't feel she should have to. She was already catering to ridiculous whims of over sensitive idiots, and they still came out in droves to complain. Sad and pathetic.

Totally. My wife was actually called out at a local fast food chain. She was breastfeeding my son discretely in the kids play room. She was approached by management of the restaurant, and told that several customers complained that it was making them uncomfortable and that she'd have to stop. My wife refused, she said it's a restaurant, and that if everyone else is eating... he can eat too. We were absolutely slighted. She ended up calling up the complaint hotline for the restaurant and were tol…

You know... come to think of it criticisms happen to couples too. "I can't believe you feed that to your kid." - "You really should stop working just stay home and take care of your kids." - "I can't believe you're not BOTH working full time! You're insane, the quality of life you're giving your kids is terrible." It'd be nice if everyone kept to themselves in those areas. Because you really just don't know. The difficulty I'm seeing in these three cases however is that single father had to deal…

Exactly... you know. I have a strong and supportive wife. And her brother is going through a difficult separation. We found some evidence that his wife is being extremely manipulative through false claims and such within the system. We were both pretty upset. But she looked to me and said "This is why we need Mens Rights." There are plenty enough people red pilling, it's only a matter of time.

I appreciate your viewpoint. And am aware of this stereotype. It's unfortunate. Although I will say you're not alone. My brother in law works in a nursing home as a caregiver. Very often the residents will refuse him entrance to do care because he's male. He gets a lot of trouble for being male in that role. All being said, I'd gladly have you repair my car, and him care after my elderly grandma. Kudos to you!

XavierMendel, You are brave. I appreciate you taking the time to talk to r/MenRights and really get the broader picture of what we represent. I'm sorry that it turned into a terrible violent storm of unsubs and threats. But above all, thank you. The only way to get our movement in the mainstream, is to have these difficult clashes with the people who uncharacteristically label us as things that we are not. Just... thanks...

I'd just like to say "Stand up for your Dick" is not something I'd like to promote or take part in. I'm all about advocating for Equality... but if they sound like a bunch of hooligans. Not the MRA that's represented in our group. I feel that "Stand up for your Dick" are the kind of dudes we downvote.

I'm going to agree with Jane Doe here brother. This is not because women feel entitled to male sexuality. This is because there are no repercussions to this type of behavior. So the type of woman who is drunk and randy feels she might be able to take advantage of her "immunity" to any sort of backlash. I've been touched inappropriately by a female in the past. But I assume a large majority of men and women have been touched inappropriately. It's just that men are punished for acting this way, an…

I was reading something interesting about Domestic Violence in the Stats Canada site. http://www.statcan.gc.ca/pub/85-224-x/2010000/ct001-eng.htm I found it quite interesting that in 2009 Canada, the numbers look just about equal. Except in Newfoundland/PEI, in which no man was ever the victim... I feel that may be a statistically anomaly, or evidence of a stigma or pride in Eastern Canadian men to not report their victimization. But that could also just be conjecture. Edit: Or if I read the bot…

It's difficulty because they don't specifically say that he didn't either. Just that now that he's gone, things are less hostile. But it could be related to the fact that neither one has any reason to be hostile anymore. Dad is dead, and mom has no one to yell at.

/r/MensRights13/04/11 06:40 PM

I agree. It's probably the most important part, and it's breezed over as if it's an insignificant detail. And to be honest. If my partner told me they were going to ignite my genitals to cleanse them, I probably would have said a lot worse than "No you won't you bitch!"
/r/MensRights13/04/11 06:34 PM

And to be clear. The defense is "that person needed killing." I see no issue using that as a justification if the genders were reversed. Although I feel that maybe some people get what they deserve, it does set a scary precedent to be abused if false abuse claims are brought about. I'd hate to see someone justify it either way. But I feel I'm bringing light to the fact that this verdict is only questionable because a woman was charged. If a man was charged the headline would read more like "murd…

But his children told the court that while they grieved for their abusive father, the atmosphere at home was no longer angry and hostile. The children? Doesn't it say something that although they're grieving for his death, the house is no longer an angry and hostile place?

It's obvious that in a role reversal the man would not be treated the same way. But as far as the whole trial goes. I can't say I disagree at all with the verdict. I wouldn't say it's wrong in this situation for the abuse victim to walk free. It's difficult because someone was murdered, but it seems as though that person was a bit of an abusive monster. What I'm saying is that I'm glad she can continue to care for her children and live her life. I just wish that a man would be given the same gra…

I think you're touching on another thing I recently read. Someone had commented that boys get better grades in single sex class rooms. Mentioning that, I don't want to discredit the value of both sexes in the workplace. There are a great number of viable and reasonable women who I would be honoured to work with.
/r/MensRights06/04/11 05:36 PM

Men might be more likely to get frustrated because women are not taught how to be competent communicators and men feel like the woman is not being clear in her questions This gender reversal thing is really quite absurd. Could you imagine if we took out our frustrations through physical violence? Those men are typically incarcerated.

That's the part that hurts. It's a joke to even consider a Men's Network. I see groups to fight the oppression of Women, Homosexuals, African Americans, Children, etc etc. But the mere notion that a man could be oppressed is a joke. I feel good reading more of /r/MensRights. I feel like my trepidations are validated. I must find if there is more I can do.
