The whole thing with Al and Peg was that what we saw was almost an act, because at the end of the day they were fiercely protective of each other. They both had their faults but were living a life we could relate to; they were literally Not The Cosbys. Compare that to Family Guy, where Peter can’t get out of his own way and Lois runs the family and babysits him. Two totally different shows with their own commentary on family life.
