/r/stupidpol You might find some solace here, if you can ignore the dribbling rightoids, who are tolerated on the sub

You're right. I suppose the case of alleged blackmail may shed light. I can't find any articles with more information.

The article says that even the alleged victim said nothing happened, it was her parents.

I think the 'left' in the US tends to refer to identity politics more than anything else. I'd agree that nothing they do is sincere. [Here's](http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2018/09/04/lock-s04.html) an article from a bunch of Trotskyists (I would say genuine socialists) on this case, they've written a lot of interesting stuff on #metoo etc. Try not to be put off by the opening bits on McCain (if you're a 'fan'), they are equally forthright on Obama, Clinton, et al.

Just heard his lawyer on the radio saying the father doesn't want to go after the ex-wife in criminal court because she's the mother of two of his children.

You're saying a woman should be forced to carry to term when she doesn't want to have the child? How would you like to impose that?

'I want this shit thing because other things are shitter'. It's not a great argument to be fair.

I deal with A LOT of people every single day in my line of work and without a DOUBT, overall, men are far, far, FAR more, 1000 TIMES more trustworthy than women. I just want to point out to you that evidence like this can be really unreliable because of the confirmation bias. I've done it myself, it's insidious; you're on much sounder ground when you cite some kind of overall stats.

Another link for the lazy: Her daughter Sylvia Pankhurst was a feminist totally opposed to the shameful white feather campaign.

The study quoted uses the following definition: "Non-physical street harassment includes verbal actions, such as offensive comments and honking a car horn, as well as non-verbal actions such as excessive staring". Not surprising they get such superficially shocking figures to throw around.

The whole Sokal affair is a hilarious rip on postmodernism dabbling in science. Check out Luce Irigaray, who claims that physics is sexist. "For example, Luce Irigaray is criticised for asserting that E=mc2 is a "sexed equation" because "it privileges the speed of light over other speeds that are vitally necessary to us"; and for asserting that fluid mechanics is unfairly neglected because it deals with "feminine" fluids in contrast to "masculine" rigid mechanics." edit: spelling

I love the sage advice in the edit: "if your partner cheats do exactly as I did...don't consider him a human being". Touching.
