I'm not sure if I want to get her, after she's shown up with some dude to surprise me for my eff'in birthday. She even asked me at the end of the night, pulling me aside with this exceptionally attentive look on her face "Did you enjoy your birthday tonight?" ... I was so blown away by the whole scenario that I played it off and said of course, but it almost felt like she was checking to see if she'd made me feel awkward, as if that was the objective. I dunno ... I need to figure out wtf she was…

I'm really not interested in investing another minute of relationship building into a situation with this girl where I might be friendzoned, and it was my birthday! There may be some guys who can play the "reverse friendzone" card like you're suggesting, but I seriously doubt that's me in this situation.

This is just about picking peoples brains about the commonly portrayed issues of men and women interacting, and really breaking down that logic. I agree that it's flawed, and that my post is generalized. It's meant to be that way. Thanks for your thorough reply. :)

I do. This post just posts questions that pertain to people who this set of traits apply to. I'm not one for taking all the time of adding countless PC disclaimers to protect myself from comments like yours though, so no harm done.

I'd love to see the reverse equivalent to this video.

Right, and your comment here is the exact kind of commentary that I cite at the beginning of my original post. The question is, why is it always us (the man) who must make these adaptations?

That the game and all the hype and "psychology" around it is a lie. All you have to do is walk up and say something. And that you should never sacrifice virtuosity for a lay.

Exactly how is it easier to keep them from "blowing your shit up" than a regular number?

He just walked out there and did it. I'm assuming the shirt and hair helped a little.

Correct. Just think about the conversation that could result after the fact (worst case scenario). You don't want to add that potential stress to your developing relationship.

I've been talking to this girl for a few months now, and when we first decided to go on our first date, she had already added a friend of mine to her list that had lots of other mutual friends between her and ... her. It seemed weird to me at the time, but it didn't really matter. Trust is really important if you're working toward something meaningful. It's ok for people to do their research, and bringing it up or faulting them for it is never a good idea. Hell, with this girl, I've openly talke…

Bring at LEAST $100/day with you (I take $200/day) ... any less and you'll feel like your mom at the grocery store. EVERY time you go to a casino, go to the club counter (usually located toward the back of the floor) and sign up for a membership card. It's always free, and usually there's a cool promotion going on that can get you free stuff, and you have a chance to win big just for getting the card. During the day, hit the machines for free drinks. (preferably in the hotel you're staying in if…

I'm basically saying that once you express to her what you'd like, and she tries (no matter how poorly), use lots of positive reinforcement, give her a really good reaction to prove that it's a turn on for you.

It's funny. I know this will work because I'm a nice guy. I dated a girl once who wanted me to be more aggressive. Back then I was SUPER nice (the internet and bitterness has toughened me up and "ruined" me a bit since then, so I'm open to more adventurous things than I used to be). She told me things she wanted to do and I was afraid that I'd do them wrong or awkwardly or because I wasn't really into it (having not tried it) she would realize that it was a turn off for her too or something, and…

What exactly is it about her being a "nice girl" that you think needs addressing? I mean, once the relationship has begun, the exception to the rule has been proven. If you're wanting her to be more aggressive in bed, or more assertive about her needs, then tell her so, and tell her it will turn you on, and ask her if you can show her what you mean. Walk her through it. If it's not about either of those things, I say just go with the flow.

You're an asshole. Congratulations on being the first to damage her perception of men. Great job, you'll fit in just fine here at /r/seduction. Just make sure to learn all of the misogynist acronyms we use around here and you're good to go. ;)

Post a picture. In all seriousness, if you're gonna sit here and call yourself ugly repeatedly, we need to verify or deny that claim in order to help you. Some people really are just hideous, and for others it's all in their heads. Prove to us which one you are.

Well that couldn't possibly be a more misleading term.
/r/seduction17/05/15 08:24 PM

So you're saying that a term using the word that shames women is being used to describe how they shouldn't be ashamed of it? Isn't that kind of like if the word to describe being self-confident in your choice of alternative sexual orientation was called "Fag Pride"?
/r/seduction17/05/15 07:39 PM

I see these terms tossed around? Why is the word "slut" even part of it? Guys are the ones who don't give a damn how many people they sleep with, but when a girl has some sort of inner remorse, we call it slut defense? Seems a little ironic.

Yes. It's hard not to look passionate about actively working with your art, whether it's music or writing or painting or a sport or whatever. The passionate part is half of the appeal. But with music, especially guitar, popular culture influences a lot of that attraction. I could explain that in more detail, but it seems fairly obvious.

They're like "Can I convince myself to get over his ugly mug to get that bod?" HOLD. This is where you have to make the difference by talking to them. Be funny. Be genuine, and be comfortable. That's so much more important than a pretty face. Be humble. Be the supporting actor that everyone things is cuter than the lead. You wanna date this girl, all you've gotta do is have one funny conversation. You're in.

I guess the friendzone you're referring to in all of this is some kind of rare "I'm a confident awesome guy who somehow got friendzoned via an anomaly in this girl's brain that made her mistakenly think that I'd be better as just a friend to her and now I'm gonna prove her wrong by not caring" ... That's not the real friendzone. The real friendzone happens more like this "I lack confidence to really assert myself so I've let this potential date think I just want to be friends and now she's becom…

response to edit #2: once again, you're speaking about the friendzoned person's feelings as if they are all a choice and can be easily controlled and manipulated to suit this fantasy scenario. Either you're a sociopath, a misogynist, or you need to seriously re-evaluate your stance on this topic.

You're dialogue here seems to go on the preconcieved notion that being in the friend zone (i.e. being right next to a girl you love all the time, knowing she doesn't, and maybe claims she will never, feel the same) is easy. It's not easy. Hell, it's not even healthy. It's masochistic, self-deprecating, and absolutely a waste of time for anyone who is looking for real love. Maybe you've rationalized this crazy explanation for yourself, to help you feel better about your decision to lock yourself …

Go on a weekend, or even just a one day, vacation. Somewhere not too far from where you live, but more than an hour or so. Take some friends, or just a friend. Go out to some place with a bar in that area. Or a bookstore, or a coffee shop. Practice there. Far from familiarity, far from a place where thoughts can come into your head like "if she says no, then ...". Because in this scenario, you have absolutely nothing to lose. In this town, you're nobody. In your world, she's nobody. You'll drive…

Nah, she's given me plenty of compliments on what she thinks of me, given me hints that I'm going a "long way" to impress her, and expressed real interest in me. But only when I basically ASK her if she has any.

Here's what you do. First, read this, then, read this ... also, read this Now, you've absorbed some information, and you understand the general idea of what's going on here and why you need to relax. All that being said (or read in this case), you've got the date. That should give you confidence. At this point, just react to her, and dont make assumptions. If you're going to assume anything, assume that she will let you know exactly how she feels. And if she doesn't, assume the best. It goes bac…

if you've been in a gay relationship, you're bisexual. just make that your "sexual orientation status" and avoid the awkwardness.

Be a gracious and respectful host, and always have the safety and best interests of your guests in the forefront of you mind. No exceptions, not even for that girl you're trying to nail. If you're gonna get laid that night, it's because you make yourself attractive by being generous and responsible. Unless you're a prick. Then you might just get a slut drunk. Either way.

You know people trivialize everything. No matter what it is, someone is always gonna be there to coat your conscience with "eh, it's not as big of a deal as they make it" but you've gotta be the judge and not let others make excuses for you. Smoking does sap your inspiration and cause apathy, which over time can weaken your body and your lung capacity. Alcohol does a thorough job of generally weakening every cellular structure in your body that it reaches, making you achy and malcontent. These t…

You need to stop drinking and smoking, because it's contributing to your low self esteem, this much is obvious. You probably think that you're filling a space in your circle of friends that isn't who you really want to be. You can change that. You need to get hooked on a new hobby, physical fitness. Health. Diet. Bolster your physical self, remove that excuse from you self-conscious mind. You'll do much better.
