A guy getting stabbed or beaten over a minor dispute, for example, is something that does happen far more often and is far more accepted than rape; I would need to see stats for that, I find it hard to believe.

The way I see it. There is some point after someone shouldn't drive home that you shouldn't have sex with them because they're not making decisions well enough. Clearly this is before they have passed out. One beer clearly doesn't make most people too drunk to decide to have sex.
