Yep, he got divorced and I think that other player was traded away. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Russell Wilson as a player, teammate, leader and person.

I’m pretty sure Russell’s ex-wife messed around with one of his teammates at the time.

I lost a friend over this too. Men were treating her like absolute shit. She was sad ALL THE TIME. I gave her similar advice. That she needs to set better boundaries and stop letting men take advantage of her. She got incredibly mean and personal and I ended up cutting her off because of it. All in all, it’s fine because it was a toxic friendship anyway.

Of course, lady! I felt so low after my divorce. Truly unlovable and I certainly took some serious (and embarrassing) missteps in the last few years. I met my guy too soon and I wasn’t healed enough. I lucked out that he never used my trauma against me and I’m a much stronger and more complete person than when we met. You will find the right person at the right time. But never forget that you are always number one and your happiness and peace must take a front seat.

I’m dating a very different man now. He is kind and he let’s me see him vulnerably but not because of manipulation or “future faking” or anything like that. That’s just who he is. A lot of men would refer to him as feminine or weak. He is a very strong person with a heart of gold. He is kind and loving to me and my pets but protective when necessary. He doesn’t take up unnecessary space and goes out of his way to take stress off of my plate. He encourages me to take time for myself and relax. I’…

Isn’t it vile when you think about that? I think he was interested again when he mentioned how strong and powerful I seemed in that moment. I said something along the lines that you have always this power and strength on your “team”, you’ve never had it working against you. I filed the paperwork the next day.

A parasite in a lot of way to be honest. He definitely enjoyed that…feeling superior to me. A few weeks later when I decided to be strong and leave on my own accord, I met up with him and he kept saying that I was the most beautiful I had ever been. I was cold, calculating and unemotional. That scared me that my vulnerability was something to be disgusted by and weaponized and my strength and indifference was something to be admired.

Ughh this just brought a memory for me. When my marriage was falling apart and we were in like week two of dropping the divorce bomb on me, I was crying and having a legitimate panic attack. He comforted me for a little bit but I couldn’t stop hyperventilating. I was asking “how could you do this to me?” He looked at me and said “the begging is really unbecoming of you”.

Girl…same story. We also met when I was 18. I have MS, which doesn’t impact me day-to-day but was always looming. He will deny that he had an emotional affair. He doesn’t see that this woman played a part in his willingness to torch our marriage. He says that he didn’t have feelings for her until I filed for divorce. They were definitely seeing each other immediately after he moved out. And she was in the midst of a divorce too. His response when I asked him to cut things off from her: I can’t, …

I’m divorced. My ex stated he didn’t want to be married anymore. He was having (at least) an emotional affair with a woman at work. I tried to work things out before I knew about the affair for sure. He stonewalled me and refused to work on it and absolutely torched our marriage. As soon as I said I’m going to go ahead and file, he wanted to “work things out”. I told him he had to cut ties with the woman at work and ultimately find a new job. He said he couldn’t do it…I filed that day and never …

Exactly. My ongoing question when it comes to Euphoria is WHERE IS EVERYONE’S PARENTS. My parents were very involved and supportive so this doesn’t resonate with my high school experience either. I grew up in a rural area where I don’t thing this type of thing was happening at this scale but it was occurring much more than I was aware of at the time. I especially think Kat’s storyline is something that is underplayed. There is a lot of external validation available on the internet and girls who …

I just started watching it a few weeks ago. I don’t think it glamorizes the use of drugs, drinking or sex to be honest. Most situations maybe start that way but there have been really serious consequences for everyone. Zendaya’s character has had some incredibly serious consequences for her drug use. If I was a teen, I think this show would’ve scared the shit out of me, not made me want to do those things more.

I just completely disagree. If she wants to get married and he hasn’t put a ring on it after ten years…leave. That doesn’t mean she’s single. I wonder if the roles were reversed if everyone would be so forgiving. Cheating is cheating. Even if you are exclusively dating, you’ve made a commitment to one another.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/21 05:15 PM

🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t feel like there is enough information here to make all those assumptions. I stand by what I say. Don’t cheat. Plain and simple. Best course of action is to end it quietly then block and delete.

I really have to disagree here. There are lots of reasons people don’t want to get married (women included). And just because you aren’t married doesn’t mean you should be reckless with that person’s feelings.

Yesterday I went to my partner’s house for Thanksgiving for the first time. I had never met his family before. His younger sisters are both pregnant and recently married/engaged. His mom said that they needed to learn to be wives and help clear the table. My partner cleared my plate for me. I really appreciate that about him. He takes care of me. What a nice change.

And I’ve been on the other side of cheating…it is devastating.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/21 07:29 PM

Didn’t mean to insinuate you, OP. But others seem to be blaming it on not being married after ten years or his alcoholism. Just leave. No need to cheat.

I feel like people in here are excusing the cheating. Nope. Break up with someone. Please for the love of god. I don’t care how shit the other person is…just break up with them.

Me too! I didn’t realize how twisted up I was about the whole thing. I dreaded sex, thought there was something with me, thought my libido was super low, etc. It never once occurred to me that it could something wrong in our relationship

Isn’t that a fun realization? I became a pretty big head case about the whole thing. Prepped my new partner that sex would be painful for me a lot of the time and to be really cautious of that

Even a step further, I got pelvic floor physical therapy to combat painful sex because my ex-husband said we didn’t have sex enough. With my new partner, I’ve never struggled with pain because I’m properly aroused. IMAGINE THAT.

My current boyfriend is more my type than any guys I have previously dated. He’s gorgeous. Thin and tall with a gorgeous mop of wavy hair. I regularly just find myself looking at him. On top of that, he’s totally lovely and kind and empathetic. He loves my pets and is kind and loving towards them.

This reminds of a guy I was seeing who sent me an unsolicited dick pic after having a tantrum that I wouldn’t drive to his house (an hour away) on a Sunday evening with no notice when I had work at 7am the next day. He sent me a picture of his dick as his “thumb” and said that he had hit it with a hammer and it was swollen. All I said was “looks like a normal sized thumb to me” then never spoke to him again. I found another similar post with this comment about FDS: They believe that women are inherently valuable, and that their presence alone is enough of a contribution to a date. The man is expected to take her to the fanciest restaurant, pay for everything, pick her up, drop her off, or whatever she asks. They want women to get the most out of their relationships, in a really calculating and cruel way, and they’re proud of this. Some of them will even make a man marry and buy them a house before h…

I weirdly think it is a feminist show. The women do have to be creative in how they navigate an incredibly sexist world but they are resilient and find ways to leverage the power they do have. Peggy (Elizabeth Moss) has one of my favorite character arcs of all time.

Mad Men is so not about the men in the show. The women show growth. The men largely stay the same. They don’t adapt with the changing world. That’s the most beautifully written show of all time.

Honestly, this is what women face in EVERY SINGLE SPACE. Swap the genders wherever one is referenced. This is literally what men do to women and have for an eternity. They don’t like it because we are taking control and beating them at their own game. The reality is women as gender are more self-sufficient than the current crop of men are capable of ever being. So we have the option to date no one because we don’t need a partner to do basic things in our lives.

I wasn’t given the option a year ago. My husband left me. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done to put myself back together. You will survive. Humans are made to do that. I will say, you’ve got feel it all though. Don’t shove your feelings down. Let yourself have a good cry or scream into a pillow. I did those things countless times over the last year and some change. For now, focus on the “why” of wanting to leave. You will be okay. I promise.

Well TIL. I remember reading the Breaking Bad subreddit and just being so confused. I get Walter Walt was a beloved character but his wife has every right to be angry, scared or to leave him/turn him in. He’s a murderous criminal and she’s trying to keep the household together. People idolized Walt because he started out wanting to provide for his family and then turned into a totally ruthless person.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/03/21 08:39 PM
23

I notice this a lot on subreddits for shows. On Breaking Bad, people generally hated Skyler because she was “bossy and nosy”. Um her husband is cooking meth and killing people? Women are often the voice of reason on tv shows and movies yet are crucified for not just going along with whatever bullshit their boyfriend/husband/make boss is doing. They get treated like the “nag”.

The fact that he met up with her, it wasn’t to apologize or to right the situation or to even be honest. He wanted to check a box so he could feel like he “did the right thing”. Now he feels justified in slinking off “stung” by her words. I’ve had people apologize and I’m like I actually don’t accept your apology (guess what? I don’t have to) and they respond with “that hurts me so much” or “how could you do that?” I am tired of being responsible for other people’s feelings, especially when I wa…

That’s some narcissism right there. People that can’t see beyond their own nose and how their actions hurt other people is really hard for me to understand. Have I done things to accidentally hurt them? Absolutely! I’m human! When they call me out for it, do I double down? No because I’m not an asshole. I understand the accidentally hurting someone (not like the situation you mentioned) but I will NEVER understand doubling down on it.

This is next level. How embarrassing. This is the “risk” of dating. Sometimes you spend money and it doesn’t work out. Sometimes you spend an hour getting ready to then show up to a date and realize that you’re not interested. People don’t owe you shit and vice-versa.

I’m not going to act like it is always easy or that I’m always the most liked person in the room but I’d rather be respected or feared than liked. I am a naturally assertive person who was sort of “silenced” for a few years due to societal pressures. I remember when I got my first “big girl” job, I mentioned in my interview that I was assertive and had no fear of reaching out to clients and asking for the information I needed, etc. I ended up getting the job and on my first day, my new boss said that they were really concerned about the word “assertive” and they needed me to be softer in my language and approach. I did for a few years then…

My state has zero cooling off period and I’m actually against it. My friend is going through a divorce (almost exactly like mine) and this is her first Valentine’s Day alone in 18 years. My area just got absolutely ravaged with a winter storm and we have been out of power for about 72 hours at this point. I brought her a coffee and some flowers. We went and got food then came back to my house (my power had come back on!) and watched 90 Day Fiancé for like five hours. Great Galentine’s Day. Friends are so important.

He asked me if I do and I told him that I don’t think I do. I maybe never even want to live with a partner again. Something that used to hurt my feelings so much when I was married is how proud of I was of my garden and wanting to show him the progress (like every day during spring and summer) and he would just blow me off about it. So I love to see this. The man I’m seeing now likes nerding out with me about my garden and as someone who dabbles in app development, he even started brainstorming an app to help me track my plants.

Found this gem of a comment in regards to another user saying they were downloading as much content as they could: I'm afraid that's semi-pointless. The whole point of porn is to get that dopamine high from increasingly shocking content and novelty. Those videos you want to save that were once new and pleasantly shocking will soon be neurochemically tantamount to bland vanilla porn after your 5th or 6th jerk.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/12/20 07:29 PM

Of course. I’m perhaps more forgiving than many of the women here. I think have a conversation and stating clear and direct boundaries is a place to start. If he argues or gets defensive, don’t let him gaslight you or manipulate you into believing that what he did was okay. Unfortunately this kind of behavior can be insidious if he is unwilling to admit his wrongdoing. Good luck! Stay strong!

I think this is absolutely worth talking about. It feels a bit secretive. My experience with my ex-husband was that there were boundaries being crossed with a co-worker and he never saw the problem. He ended up leaving but “not for her”. I think having a conversation about how this makes you uncomfortable is important. Take note of his reaction. If he acts defensive and angry for you “snooping”, that’s problematic. He should be apologetic and have actionable steps to rectify this breach of trust…

Don’t take this as excusing his behavior, by any means. He did a garbage thing, leaned on another woman, allowed her to come between us and ultimately was unwilling to work on our marriage because he saw “potential” elsewhere. That being said, hating him really takes a chunk out of me. My favorite quote: “The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference” - Elie Wiesel

Yep, and I don’t want to say he’s a piece of shit. He has some repressed stuff that he needs to deal with. I think his emotional growth was stunted for a long time. I definitely enabled him to stay stagnant. He isn’t a bad person. He’s just struggling. So even though I’ve hated him over the last 10 months for sure, I mostly just hope that he is uses this opportunity to grow as a person and “level up” for the next person.

I’m not really sure. I don’t think he was physical with her while he was still living with me. So maybe that what he equates it to? He definitely at least kissed her while we were still married. I was willing to overlook that because I kissed someone while we were still married too. I’m just wondering if this guy showed any weirdness beforehand? This sounds like my worst nightmare...I’m getting secondhand embarrassment for this guy

So he actually does have mental health issues. He’s been diagnosed and he actually brought up struggling in our marriage about a year and a half before as well. He said he wasn’t happy and we didn’t have sex enough. I said that it would be really helpful to me if it wasn’t about penetration every time and if he would go down on me more regularly. I went to pelvic floor physical therapy for FOUR MONTHS to help with the pain I was experiencing during sex. He didn’t go down on me even once.

Showing grace and poise through my divorce was something that was really important to me. I made a conscious effort to be as kind as could. Sometimes it was to be smug but mostly, it’s who I am. I didn’t want to look back and see that I had stooped and allowed myself to act in a way that I would later regret. I was able to walk away with my head held high.

I’m so sorry that this happened to you as well. I don’t know where you are in the healing process but I highly recommend a book called Runaway Husbands. It really helped me heal and not feel so alone. He admitted that there were definitely feelings between him and this woman from work but it took months. He gaslit me badly and told me I was crazy to think that and that it was incredibly hurtful for me to accuse him of that.

I remember the last time I saw him in person, we were talking about dating apps and he was feeling “woe is me” about his situation. He had the audacity to say to me “I went from you to this” and gestured to some less attractive woman on his phone that he had matched with. I just couldn’t believe that he thought I was the appropriate person to get sympathy from. I’m so sorry that your prospects aren’t what you hoped they would be. 🙄

I read a quote the other day that I love: the grass isn’t greener on the other side, it is greener where you water it.

Absolutely. I don’t know if he was physical with her on the business trip but he was at least in an emotional affair, which is worse in my opinion. 3 of the 4 relationships I have had in my life ended because of infidelity. I’ve never cheated. There are people who are incapable of that. He said to me earlier this week that the hardest day post-divorce was realizing that he actually did love me. Too little, too late. And thank you for the warm welcome! I love this community so far.

I’m 31! We are the same age! So cheers to starting over. I told him this week that the space, time and lack of loyalty/commitment to one another gave me perspective on our whole relationship, not just our divorce. I wasn’t treated as well as I should be. I keep two things on my phone as a reminder. A picture I snapped of myself on the day my divorce finalized. I look empty. It reminds me how far I’ve come. I also keep a video that I found from four years ago when we were “happy”. The way he talk…

I’m not going to act like I haven’t messed up or been weak. But I’m not the sad and broken person I was six months ago. I just couldn’t see a scenario where I would ever get back together with him because I would have to give up so much of myself to do that.
