So true and also, so many would-be rapist scrotes use “photography” as a ploy to flatter and lure hapless young women. I was approached by at least two different guys when I was 15 and 17 pretending to be photographers looking for models. And by a massive geek weirdo a couple years ago who claimed he liked to shoot “alternative beauties” in boudoir/ BDSM poses. LOL! Fortunately I never fell for it but looking back I fear for the girls who did.

Lol. As if looking at online dating provides an accurate data set. Men skew the data themselves by swiping on everyone indiscriminately 🤣 they literally buy apps to swipe for them. Meanwhile, over in the real world, half the beautiful women I know have boyfriends that look like fkin sea monsters. This is incredibly stupid and unscientific.

Yes! I know two guys like this, both of whom live at home and one of whom is a literal incel who is obsessed with dating women 23 and under even though he is 34, 5’3, lives with his parents and fucks prostitutes. I live in fear of him getting his hands on some poor insecure seventeen year old who thinks it’s cool he pays her attention and has his own car 😖

Welp, I don’t let men choke me during sex. Guess your vetting isn’t so FDS perfect after all. 👋

So glad you can speak for everyone else in the forum. You sound completely deluded. 99.9 percent of men watch porn. Therefore almost everyone here has tolerated a relationship with someone who watches porn.

You’re totally misrepresenting what I said. I was saying [IF YOU STAY WITH A GUY WHO WATCHES PORN AND SAYS HE WILL STOP] expect slip ups. My basic point is that porn is an addiction that is incredibly difficult to quit - surely something anyone on this forum would agree with. So if your boyfriend says he’s quit and never slips up, he’s lying. You’re just arguing over nothing and taking what I said out of context to try and score points.

I don’t think you get to be the arbitrator of what is beneficial for women. If you actually read my comment, it was categorically NOT offering advice. Nowhere did I say, do this or do that. So what you’re saying, is sharing any anecdote that ISNT applying FDS to the letter of the law is detrimental and forbidden and harmful to women. Wow.

FDS is a community, not a cult. Yes I’ve read the handbook, and yes I agree that pornography is VERY, VERY BAD. That is why I asked my husband to stop watching it, which he did. Life is nuanced, can I not share my experience without people interpreting it as a personal threat?

Ok! I’m just sharing my experience, I’m not telling you what to do or what other people should tolerate. The world is how it is, not how we would want it to be. Given pretty much all men watch porn (and the ones who say they don’t are lying), I thought it might be helpful to share how I eliminated the issue in a respectful long term relationship.

I hear ya. But the reality is, in our porn sick era, porn has most likely affected every single sexual encounter you’ve ever had, without you even realising it. People have different boundaries and priorities, and no one should forgive or tolerate something that is a dealbreaker for them. For me, my most important boundary is honesty, and from my perspective, my story with my partner says less about him as a person, and more about how difficult it is even for a casual and infrequent porn watcher…

This is 100% true. My best friend is beautiful (as well as lovely) and she’s a magnet for abusive, narcissistic, awful men. It’s like they know they don’t deserve her so they try to lower her confidence as much as possible to stop her leaving. No wonder beautiful women have to develop bitchy facades, if they don’t they get dragged through the dirt like my friend. I was also once in a four or five year situationship with an ugly but smart and interesting guy who spent the entire time emotionally …

IMO, roommates are totally different from parents (assuming you mean they share an apartment, not literally a room). I live in a big cosmopolitan city, and it’s the norm - house prices are ridiculous and impossible, and cities can be lonely - it makes sense to buddy up, share a place and get way more for your money. Living with other people teaches you respect, how to maintain a communal space, how to be considerate of others…or at least it can. Look at the place they live in - is it a trashed b…

Me and my husband use the pull out method, and have successfully for almost 8 years. Every single one of his orgasms is a tiny exercise in self sacrifice and self restraint 🤣

Celebrating girls for their looks is never empowering, it is literally the patriarchy propagating itself and rewarding pickme’s for helping them.

My husband loves his job, works really hard at it, does something that actively helps people, and though we earn the same amount of money now, I’ll probably overtake him at some point. Being a HVM isn’t about money - in my experience, a disproportionate amount of rich guys are narcissistic, entitled, shallow assholes. Of course, women have different goals and different needs - for example, if you want to be a SAHM, your partners income is going to be much more important to you, and there’s nothi…

I just got married and I absolutely did not. I can’t understand why anyone would. There are women out there calling themselves feminists and then blithely changing their LITERAL NAME they’ve had all their lives for a man. Totally inexplicable to me.

I Googled it and this is disgusting. Capitalism will never tire of shaming women into purchasing tout by creating “solutions” to perfectly natural “problems”. What’s next, tiny eye hoovers to vacuum up our tears?

I’m FDS because it’s the first community I’ve come across that reflects certain radical feminist principles and puts women first. It has so many useful perspectives and reading other women’s stories helps me understand my younger self better, reminds me why I need to continue to stand with women rather than bow to the societal pressure to be a pick-me and helps to keep me on the straight and narrow when it comes to applying FDS to my own life, whether in my relationship or friendships. FDS is mo…

Yes, I am childfree and I’m marrying mine in a couple of weeks. I met my fiancé at a warehouse party, so through a common interest/being part of the same scene. I will say though - he wasn’t “childfree” as such when I met him, more indifferent to parenthood, and though he’s fully confident and happy never to have children, he wouldn’t self-identify as being part of the childfree tribe now either. More, he recognised that the decision was mine to make and it is one that he’s respected and embrace…

Thanks for sharing OP, are you able to link to the original post or, if that’s against FDS rules, provide a summary of the kinds of responses this woman is getting? I feel extremely concerned for her and would be reassured to hear whether she’s getting the kind of feedback she needs.

If having sex with someone you didn’t want to wasn’t traumatising, rape wouldn’t be one of the most devastating and dehumanising things that can happen to a person. Sex work is scarring and traumatising and many women don’t realise how much it’s damaged them for many years after they’re out.

I dunno about this, think you’re giving scrotes too much credit tbh. Most guys aren’t masterminds exercising ingenious control strategies, more likely this guy was a deluded pornsick virgin weirdo who couldn’t handle the idea of a vagina being used for anything other than hardcore sex. I heard enough conversations with male “friends” when I was younger about how repulsive a single female body hair anywhere except the head was to them to know that accepting the reality of women as physical human …

The problem with this is, it’s psychologically more difficult to break off an engagement than a regular relationship. If you move in after the wedding date has been set, and then find out your partner isn’t what you thought, you’ve already put deposits on everything, told all your friends and family, everyone is planning their wedding outfits and yeah, the whole wedding machine has kicked in at full force. So much more humiliating and complicated to duck out at that stage.

Men jump through hoops to justify why porn is “harmless” because they want to keep watching it - just like alcoholics who underestimate the amount they drink, or smokers who swear down they only smoke a couple a day. And then women like the one who wrote this article choose to believe them because they don’t want to leave them.

What the actual fuck is this shit? Porn causes widespread erectile dysfunction, escalatory sexual deviance and horrific body image issues - just look at the rise of young women getting huge fake lips and asses to try to compete with porn. Oh I guess Cosmo calls that “empowering” because they take advertising money from cosmetic surgeons. I cant believe a magazine that’s supposed to support women is propagating this kind of shit - presumably in the name of “sex positivity”. Irresponsible to the p…

Tbh, I would not. I wouldn’t end an existing friendship over it (although I’d do what I could to dissuade her) but it would make me too uncomfortable to be around/hear about for me to want to pursue a friendship with someone living this kind of lifestyle.

Yeah I feel ya - for me it’s the ‘he’s so romantic! In the middle of rough sex…’ that makes this feel fake, just feels like the mention of rough sex has deliberately been contrasted with the ‘he’s so romantic’ bit to be like, lol, stupid women! And that makes it feel like it’s a troll post. You’re right that enough girls fall into this trap that it doesn’t really matter if this individual post is real or not though.

It’s not that I don’t believe these relationships exist (they def do), just that this specific one reads like it’s fake. Teenage girls don’t write like that, still think this is a LARP.

Just doing my bit to atone for having had to propagate some of those lies myself early on in my career in order to pay rent 🤮 if you do ultimately decide to get Botox, try and wait till you’re more like 50 which is when it’ll most benefit you. In the meantime, sunscreen, skincare and self-love!

You’re right, I apologise. I would really like to see women and feminism in general embrace ageing and understand that wrinkles do not make you less beautiful any more than they make men less beautiful, I hate that double societal standard and that these injections are positioned as “empowering” for women by ad companies, judging and shaming women for that was not the right way of making that point. Thank you.

Very good point - it’s a hot button issue for me and I made a blanket statement without thinking. Thank you for correcting me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/06/21 09:06 AM

You also make some good points - advertising is a massive contributor to this issue, as is how much time we spend seeing ourselves in HD photos etc and noticing tiny flaws. Part of the reason I feel so strongly about aesthetic injections is because I worked at an ad agency that had a few clinics on their books, I had to work on their campaigns and the industry is predatory and unregulated AF. I saw these clinics target women in their early twenties with total lies (I had to read the medical lite…

I hear you and we’re all human. But honestly, there are two reasons for getting Botox - 1) to preserve your youthful looks because that is what men find attractive and 2) because you’re afraid of the reality of ageing. In both situations, Botox isn’t going to fix the real problem.

I’m new to FDS so perhaps still at the start of my journey, but honestly, this is the one FDS principle I’m still struggling with - at least as a blanket rule. I’m not dating right now but when I was, I definitely never thought men were entitled to sex because of paying, or gave a shit if they thought they were - I more thought of it in terms of fairness, and money as power and a way of showing interest. So if I went on a date with a guy I really liked, and we were earning roughly the same amoun…

This is absolute gospel and should be spoken about more. I was really nice to ugly/LVM men when I was younger and it resulted in opportunistic sexual assault on multiple occasions. I also dated one and he tried to cheat as soon as he thought he had a chance. Ugly men aren’t kinder and don’t treat you better. In my experience, they are a lot worse.

Hey man, I’m a woman reading this thread and I wanted to chip in and empathise with your position. The reason I’m here is because I believe that men’s rights and women’s rights should go hand in hand - every problem either side complains about is experienced equally but opposite by the other gender IMO. Women are expected to do intensely tedious jobs like child rearing, men are expected to work themselves to the bone. Women are called irrational and emotional, men are expected to stay quiet and …
