I'm so sorry you and your kids went through this 🖤 I'm so happy and proud of you that you got out! I think it's important for women to hear that there IS a life outside of the misery! It'll be hard at first but so so so worth it.

Thank you for posting this. Seeing it all laid out is pretty eye opening.. and frankly terrifying. I am in the process of trying to end something and he checks so many of these boxes. As women we make so many excuses and are taught not to trust our intuition. How many times, as women, have we doubted our fear because we're conditioned to think we're overreacting?

Ironically I was going to comment that while op isn't wrong, ya gotta take what Bundy said with a grain of salt. His motivation for that schpeel was a last ditch attempt at a pardon but your comment made me realize that I'm not as educated on the topic as I thought I was so thank you! This. I had used the "it's working for us" excuse so many times in my marriage, just to not have to listen to other people's opinions and questions on WHY I'm not only pulling the financial weight, but child care, household chores, etc why he sat and played video games for 10+ hours a day. I let it slide because otherwise he'd be angry. Never. Again.
