Yes. Both extreme “feminist” content and extreme red pill content float to the top of feeds because it’s what drives engagement and emotional reactions.

They are not conflicting drives. Sex is naturally a very intimate act. And in the context of a healthy relationship, it’s part of how intimacy is built. Separating them turns into Madonna-whore complex. The problem is seeing sex as just a physical act of a penis going into another person. Sexual intimacy is about connection and includes things like affection, non-genital touching, and tracking what a partner likes so we can do things that person enjoys, rather than just getting ourselves off. It…

That's what I was thinking. You brain is used to getting shots of emotionally-arousing juice straight into the vein. You suddenly quit that. Compared to TRP rage, porn, and the initial thrill of romance, simple day to day stuff feels empty and not exciting. Time, good diet, exercise, the outdoors, and staying social should also help.

It is absolutely possible for someone to be attracted to BOTH the 6'0 and 5'5 man. It is possible and common to be attracted to BOTH conventionally hot people and not-so-hot people. I think Ryan Gosling is handsome, but I also think being really unique and good at one's craft is attractive, and I'd fuck Paul Dano or Phillip Seymore Hoffman (when alive) in a minute, especially if I can spend a few hours before and after having some deep conversations. Attraction isn't always either/or. It is wide…

I think often because men find women desirable, they confuse the value they are assigning on their own to women with the value women are taught they have. We are not necessarily taught we have value beyond our looks, youth, and fertility… which paradoxically is also a common red pill trope, so the ideas are contradictory out the gate. I was given very strong messages that without a thin body AND academic and financial success, I was not worth anything. I also have had a long road trying to accep…

Get away with, meaning… people will let it slide if a hot guy does gross things? I think it would be worthwhile to think about why you want to be able to “get away with” doing stuff to women they do not appreciate. Friendliness and courtesy are likely to get a positive response no matter what you look like.

This guy sounds like he's 14. "I listen to women" but then I discount what they say because it takes the observing eye of an uninformed, inexperienced man to figure women out.

Aside from the valuable advice already typed here, I’ll tell you something else: stop looking for the magic bullet. Stop looking for that one magic nugget of advice that will make you more attractive to people. Attracting others and finding relationships is a slow process of trying and failing until you get success. There will be awkwardness. There will be people you want to date who aren’t into you. There will be rejection, and slowly getting to know people only to find out you don’t match well…

This may blow your mind so you may want to sit down… But people are attracted to a wide variety of things. People you find unattractive may very well be attractive to the next person. People can also attracted to both conventionally good looking people AND ones less conventionally attractive. Don’t project your own preferences on the rest of the population.

If it makes it any simpler: the more I care for someone and they care for me, the more that caring enhances my physical attraction to them. Their face and body are a physical form representing all the love and caring they give me. That makes me excited to connect with that body. That makes me more excited about their face and body than any “hot” stranger. If you’re looking for an excuse immediately as to why this doesn’t “count” as real attraction, check yourself. We are telling you how attracti…

When a woman is telling you it’s attraction and your interpretation is that it’s really convenience, you are not really listening, and you are using your own emotional reaction, which comes from your own baggage, to decide what’s really true. It’s dismissing and unhealthy. I do not pick partners based on how good of a roommate they’d be. I pick them based on a holistic picture of who they are as people. And being attracted to them is a must. But what stokes my attraction isn’t just physical, and…

It is entirely possible to be attracted to someone the rest of the world finds unattractive. Did you have a sense she didn’t find him attractive? Or did she name his physical attributes for the purpose of illustrating that these exterior qualities had no impact on her attraction, because that’s what the other commenters were focusing on? Again, there’s an assumption of settling on her end, but I think she was very much trying to communicate that to her, this is a high value man she was happy to …

I’ve had a few friends who did sex work and a significant number of male clients were really lonely and wound up emotionally dumping on them. It was awkward and weird. You need therapy, not an escort. Or at the very least start working on building up your social skills with women. Healthy, adult romantic relationships are the way to heal loneliness and find fulfillment. That takes a lot of time, work, and often times rejection and difficult experiences along the way. Those are a necessary part o…

It sounds like she's got deeper stuff going on that she is unwilling or unable to discuss with you. That doesn't make her a bad person, but it's having a huge impact on you and your marriage. You obviously need affection, love, and physical intimacy in a relationship. Most of us do! If this relationship isn't meeting your needs, you have a right to decide you can't stay in it anymore. I can't tell if you two actually made it to couples' therapy and it didn't work, or if she shot it down. I love …

Some people are jerks. People hurt each other and leave each other a lot, but it’s not a certainty. And often it’s not for a younger woman at all. Women looks absolutely beautiful in their 30s, 40s, and beyond. Most people find their attraction aging with them. I am 40 now and I am super into people 30-50. People in their 20s feel way too young for me, and that’s also true for most of my friends.

Ever thought about how many different kinds of weird and gross foods have been in a person's mouth over their lifetime? And yet, we don't think of people's mouths as dirty if they've had a lot of different food items, flavors, textures, etc in there. When our mouth is empty and teeth brushed, we see it as clean, right? It's just a mouth, full of its normal regular juices, not permanently changed by all the food periodically entering it. So why would a woman's reproductive parts be tainted if the…

BetterHelp is like the WalMart of therapy. Their pay is crap so they tend to attract people who are either inexperienced or otherwise not doing well as therapists. You really need to look for a therapist for a long-term engagement who specializes in things like social anxiety and depression (which are very common, so many do.) You can find them on Psychology Today, your insurance's website, or google. You could also look into support/therapy groups for men or people who have social anxiety. Ther…

I get cold sores which is oral HSV1, and once I started noticing how differently people reacted to being told that VS people's reactions to the SAME EXACT virus being on someone's genitals, it just started driving me crazy. It's entirely about how judgmental we are about anything having to do with sex. I take valacyclovir if I feel my lips tingling and it's truly a miracle drug in preventing outbreaks or cutting them short.

Even people who find someone special and remain monogamous can wind up with HSV or other STIs if their partner has been with other folks and is unaware of their status, or cheats, or is sexually assaulted. You can’t judge yourself as some kind of bad person for catching herpes. STIs aren’t a punishment for “bad” behavior - that’s a seriously unhealthy, outdated, moralizing way to look at human sexuality. You could have found “the one” and still caught an STI, we don’t have a crystal ball and you…

You say you hate men, but I hear what you really hate is the situation you are in and your experiences. They sound painful and traumatic. If all men disappeared tomorrow, that pain would still be there, the experiences would still be eating at you. I’m not trying to invalidate you - I know how toxic and harmful our experiences under patriarchy are. I understand the anger and revenge fantasies. Right now that idea feels empowering when you are in a profoundly disempowered place. But I also think …

We are primates. We evolved to live in social groups. We also have an evolutionarily-programmed desire to connect to romantic partners called attachment. Since humans are pretty darn helpless through most of pregnancy, childbirth, soon after, and from infancy to adolescence, evolution had to create a way for us to be motivated to bond and take care of each other. Attachment and a strong desire to partner is this mechanism. The US and many industrialized “Western” nations value independence and a…

You need to improve your mindset around women and get off the porn. Women are human beings. They are not objects to use for sexual gratification. Honestly this might be "go see a therapist" territory. You will find it very difficult to create the sense of safety and trust for women to want to date or have sex with you if this is the vibe you give off.

I have noticed that going over 35 seriously decreased the amount of street harassment, creepy unwanted behavior in bars/clubs, sexually explicit messages on dating apps, etc. OK Cupid had these stats years ago on their blog how the majority of men of all ages are shotgunning messages to 19-21 year old women. So those guys? Yeah, you will get less of them. Here is me throwing a party to celebrate it. As far as actual serious dating options with worthwhile people? Still there. So yes the supply mi…

A person who is polite and presentable but a bit timid is way preferable to someone who is a jerk. I don’t care what someone looks like, if they’re mean and rude, I won’t give them the time of day.

Women can sense desperation and resentment from a mile away. Your attitude is highly toxic, so I’m glad you recognize it, because it is probably coming through and putting women off. If you can get any sort of therapy for the resentment, I’d recommend that. But I think more important is getting more experience interacting with women without the goal of a date in mind. Thanks for the links. RP absolutely encourages it, it's a specific tactic I have seen mentioned. I think it may be called dread game or something, but it's alternating hot and cold and making a woman think the dude may be losing interest so she chases harder. And yeah that's manipulative.

There are a couple different ways to take this. One is that people tend to like someone who gives off a very independent vibe, like they don’t need but choose to be in a relationship. The US especially is a very individualist society and we tend to find that vibe appealing. It can certainly give off an appearance, accurate or not, that the person has their stuff together. But another way to interpret it is that there’s a way to manipulate people, which RP encourages, wherein a person drops hints…

You have actual human feelings, like guilt for feeling like you led someone on and attachment to partners you spend time with and have sex with. Lots of these guys are emotionally repressed and stunted. They don’t feel affection or guilt. They talk about women falling for them without reciprocation as a point of pride. That’s how. It’s nothing to be proud of or emulate.

You said she wasn’t interested and that you “failed” in the same sentence. But that’s contradictory. If a woman isn’t into you, there is no level of suave flirtation that can undo that. It doesn’t really say anything about your skills. Second, you were doing this bc your friend pressures you into. Things we are pressured into are rarely fun and we tend to not come off as relaxed and natural. Which kills effective flirtatiousness. Don’t give into pressure if you really aren’t into doing this. Bot…

Not to defend actual gross people, but there’s a biological phenomenon called nonconcordant arousal, which means a physiological reaction that is functionally like being turned on, but is missing the actual mental turned-on part. You can read more about it in Come As You Are by Emily Nagoski. The body can seem turned on when nothing sexual is happening in the mind of the person.

Who is “a lot”? Where are you going to collect data on that penis size women want? 7.5-8 is on the larger side anyway. Women are all different. We are built differently, we value different things. There’s no way to make a blanket statement like “it’s all about big dick” or “it’s all about personality.” It’s always a combination of a whole bunch of different things. No woman can truly consent to sex with a man? What? We have agency. Many of us love having sex. Many of us love having power exchange sex. It just has to be talked about and boundaries need to be negotiated. It’s sad that so many women participate in sex as a performative act, and there’s a lot about culture that needs to change, but that doesn’t mean we cannot consent to sex. That’s utterly infantilizing.

Women want this too, and most of us also struggle to find it, our struggle is just a little different bc rather than being unable to attract any attention at all, we struggle to attract attention from men who respect us and treat us like human beings instead of commodities, and who share our values. If women set up a space to talk about a problem they face as women, and the purpose of that space is just for that, then it feels rude and intrusive for someone who’s not a part of the group and who doesn’t even share the physical characteristic discussed, to intrude and start taking about their issue. Tbf, going entirely on anecdote, using three people in your life to extrapolate to the entire global population, and layering your biases on what you see to draw the incorrect conclusion, isn’t good either. Big dicks get all the hype in part because that's what MEN think women prioritize. But like, how often do women get boyfriends entirely bc they have big boobs? Sure it happens but it's not how 99% of people find a partner, and it does nothing to keep a relationship long term. People in general are more instantly attracted to fun outgoing people. That’s natural. Being quieter and more reserved means it’s harder for people to get to know the real you. But that doesn’t mean women won’t like you, it’s just a little harder to communicate who you are right off the bat and make a connection. Intimacy and deep connection is only possible with vulnerability. Some people are terrified of opening up themselves and connecting in a deeper level, so they run. I absolutely want partners who can identify and express emotions, and who can show vulnerability and sensitivity. Cold macho attitudes are a huge turn-off.

Wtf dude lots of guys like yoga and makeup is a skill you can actually make a career off of. Just because it’s a “women’s” hobby doesn’t mean it’s not a hobby. And plenty of dudes have zero hobbies. Lots of boring, aimless people out there.

No and no. Vulnerability is what forms strong connections and intimacy. Disrespect and being closed off means I walk. This stuff works to manipulate women who are afraid of intimacy, most likely who in early life saw very unhealthy relationship modeling (for example abusive father) and are recreating what is familiar to them. That’s human attachment theory.

Looks do matter and attraction is necessary on some level for romantic and sexual chemistry. And there is a narrow type that a LOT of people find attractive. But that doesn’t mean they don’t also find all kinds of other things attractive. It is entirely possible to be attracted to a person who is not, by any objective standard, or by popular opinion, attractive. But something works there for ya. And sometimes people ARE exclusively into something most others aren’t - very tall women, very fat wo…

Only you are the expert on your feelings, but if I had to take a stab at interpreting this... You put these imaginary studs on a pedestal and feel inferior to them. You lose sexual interest in women with a history because you imagine they must have banged guys you are inferior to, that the women will judge you and make it obvious they think you’re inferior, too. A virgin is safe because she has nothing to compare the experience with you to, therefore the utter terror of being found inferior is r…

If you’re Gen Z you’re young. Younger people tend to have a higher ideals and bigger blind spots to where those ideals and what drives them and how they act don’t match up. Sorting through all that is part of the process of growing.

Because people mix up a few things that are all true simultaneously: Looks matter - people generally have to be physically attracted to someone to be interested in a romantic and sexual relationship with them. There are certainly physical attributes that the majority of people find attractive, and are considered objectively attractive. But... People are also attracted to all kinds of people, at the same time. People can be attracted to many different types and looks. Only a narrow range of peopl…

Red pill is awful but posting something adding shame to STIs doesn’t help anyone. I know someone with the molloscum issue he mentions; it’s a skin condition (and in his case it came from a wetsuit most likely.) HPV is impossible to test for in men and can only be diagnosed with a Pap smear in women. People whose partners cheated on them, who have been sexually assaulted, or who dated people whose partners have, can catch these even if they only do monogamous relationships. A disease is a disease…

I would recommend the books Attached, Hold Me Tight, and anything by John Gottman. But this will all be hard to understand theory without actual relationship experience. Hate to break it to you but the only way to learn good relationship skills is to date, have relationships, make mistakes, and learn from them. Having crappy experiences is part of the process and you cannot avoid them. Putting dating off or reading books will not prevent this.

“All they care about us the end” The end of what? How do you have data on what 100% of women everywhere think? You’re single until you’re not. You’re unsuccessful until you’re not. You don’t get to the end of self-improvement (which I have no idea what you think it is besides earning money to buy things?) and win a prize. Self-improvement is a constant process that is life-long, and committing to it needs to be done for yourself, not other people. And the self-improvement you seem to need most w…

It’s based on the fact that we are social primates who evolved to live in social groups where we are interdependent on each other. Forming bonds assures that. If you’re out foraging berries and break a leg, you’ll need help or you will be left behind and die. Sue Johnson researches and writes about adult attachment; you can find more info on this if you look her up.

Underneath our feelings and thoughts, there are two near universal fears we’ll struggle with: “I’m not good enough”, and therefore “I will not be loved, and will be alone.” Check out the books Hold Me Tight and Gottman’s 7 Secrets to Making a Marriage Work. Or anything from Gottman.

This is a kind of selling/brainwashing technique common in MLM schemes and cults. They hook you with some obvious, simple truths (like work out, become more social and confident), then sell hard on “the system”. Then, if you’re having no luck using it, it’s obviously bc you’re doing it wrong. It’s all your fault. When it does work, that’s obviously the system working!

You have mountains of work to do on yourself before you try for a relationship. This chip on the shoulder resentful attitude towards women, as if you’re owed sex and romance, and if you’re not getting it it’s bc women hate you for some reason, and you just wanna be with someone “hot”.... guarantee we women can sense it and run the other way. That attitude ranks on the level of raging BO in terms of attractiveness. There are many men and women with your level of sexual and romantic experience out…

There are very deep issues here around your view of sexuality in general which probably need some professional guidance to untangle. If you can, I would highly recommend finding a sex-positive counselor or therapist. If money is an issue, interns are a good place to start, or any local MFT schools that have students doing practice sessions. FWIW, I was a girl curious and preoccupied with sex and physical intimacy and affection from a very young age. I did have some bad experiences along the way,…

Stop dating for a while and work on yourself. Try to meet new people who have empathy and integrity, with the goal of learning from them not dating. Read books like 7 Habits of Successful People, Thinking Fast and Slow, Hold Me Tight, The Gifts of Imperfection. There are crappy people out there all over the place and they date each other. If you don’t work on yourself and expand your social experience, you will wind up stuck with them. Good, smart, empathic, loving people gravitate to others lik…

I don’t love getting older but holy shit have my 30s so far been so much better than 20s! Better sex, better relationships, better self-esteem, better knowledge of myself! It may sound trite but you seriously don’t want anyone in your life who believes crap about women having some kind of expiration date. It may narrow your pool if you cut out shallow people but the quality shoots up. Also 30 is nothing, it’s like the best age for the intersection of physical health and maturity.

I’ve had guys do that to me in various ways. Like “we both like women so we should both be able to sleep with other women, that’s totally fair!” Please know you’re not alone. And that feelings you have aren’t actually sex-specific, no matter what red pillers tell you. Women also struggle with feelings of alienation, loneliness, sense of self worth, and self-image. Many more people do than we realize, even those who on the outside look like they have it together. It is a human experience. You cou…

First off, kudos for sharing all that. It’s not easy to be vulnerable and admit you’re struggling and questioning all this to a bunch of Internet random. All of these extremist forums start out with a few kernels of truth. In this case: your worth as a man and human isn’t tied to having a romantic relationship with a woman or being married, and it’s ok to be single, even for life. It’s important to cultivate your own interests and hobbies and be your own person. But beyond of course is all the c…

If you're comparing supermarket vs contruction/oil rig, that's a difference in skill and risk, so I would expect a difference in salary. Warehouse vs cashier I'm less clear on but these specific comparisons aren't really what I was talking about. There's a much broader discussion that's missing from this shitty comic. When we have these conversations, we tend to set up criteria that obvious favor men as an excuse for why they get more benefit - eg men are stronger and can lift more, so that gets…

This is what I was about to post and I wish this was higher up. People in this post keep talking about men being paid more for taking more "dangerous" or "physical" jobs. I'm sorry, how is investment banker more dangerous or physical than an ER nurse? Social worker? Daycare worker? Middle school teacher? Do you know how physical a job as a live-in caregiver is? Is construction somehow more vital than knowing how to care for children? These jobs take skills and stamina. Many require schooling and…
