Not confidence but more like being careless. He doesn't think about a future with the girls he meets and what nice guys don't get is many girls are like this, too. The only difference is that girls can't be open but guys can be about being interested only in sex. So as a summary, your unattractive friend's getting laid is not an accomplishement and the other is not a failure. It is just being realistic or naive about girls' intentions.

I am surprised how you think it is because from accent. It is more likely girls think that you are more open and won't tell anyone if anything funny happens. Since you are a foreigner you have no boundaries of the country you visit and they know that. Girls want to be amazed constantly.

As years pass by i realize it is really unnecessary to expect people to change. So i accept everyone as they are, don't put up with their non-sense and as soon as i understand they are being over dramatic, selfish and etc. i increase the distance. I rarely cut off immediately, it usually is one drop at a time.

I hate reddit advices. "You had a bad experience with someone just leave him/her." This is not a solution but just delaying the next douche friend. I believe OP needs to reevaluate how he chooses friends and why other people choose him as a friend. Life is too short to live passive aggressively.
