Do not marry him now. If he was the man you hoped him to be, he would refuse to marry you, considering the debt that has been (and will be) hoisted upon him…and therefore you, if you marry now. Continue to date, if you don’t feel emotionally right letting go. But I would suggest keeping him at a distance for some time. Being lied to by the person you love is an absolute betrayal, and it takes time and effort by both parties to get over. If you don’t think you personally have it in you, or even w…

He’s a child, and what he’s doing is embarrassingly childish.

Lots of things that aren’t horrible are “horrible to people” lol. The one thing you can count on in this life is finding plenty of people that disagree with you, regardless of how innately moral is your belief. I see absolutely no issue whatsoever with you finding value in a man’s ability to provide for you. I mean, we look for partners we find physically attractive, which I’d argue is far less useful than a person who can provide a good overall life, yet no one finds issue with you wanting an a…

About 10% of Americans earn $100k+ annually. We no longer live in a time when a min wage full time job could provide a modest living for a family. The last 4+ generations have grown up with the understanding that 2 incomes are necessary to survive for 90% of america. One can call it brainwashing, indoctrination, or just facing current reality. Once people have accepted THEIR reality, which shapes their morality, it’s incredibly common to push their moral values unto others. I try not to, but I’m…

I’d suggest that, when someone does what you ask them to do, you show thanks and gratitude instead of saying you’re “unsatisfied” that they did exactly what you asked them to do. I have other suggestions, as mentioned in my primary comment, but my guess is you’ll pay them as much heed as you do this comment.

If you want someone more attractive, date someone more attractive. If you asked him to do something and he did it and you are still not satisfied, he’s not the issue. Last, if you expect him to pay for your Uber, and otherwise pay for your company in some manner, you’re not out of the SD/sb lifestyle. If you want that in a vanilla relationship, you need to establish YOUR value to him. If you’re not taking care of him by doing his laundry, cleaning his home, etc, then where do you feel you’ve est…

For what it’s worth, a woman with a job is one of my hard lines. I don’t want a woman with a traditional job, I would love to find someone who views a relationship as our most important job.

The incentive, to me, is to fulfill what I believe my purpose to be as a man. You don’t have to live up to my definition of manhood. As I said, most don’t. You can try to have women pay for your meal as often as you like. It simply doesn’t appeal to my view of what a man is. But I was just responding to the op that talks about who should pay for a meal on a date, and it seems we agreed (per your previous post on what it means to be “marriageable”)

I believe man, at his core, is a provider. He offers Physical, emotional, and financial security for the person he chooses to be with. Even you, in one of your last posts said that if a man is “marriageable” (your word), it means he “has money.” You demonstrate this ability by paying for the dates you go on, regardless of who instigated the date. However, as I said originally, I totally understand and accept the sentiment, because I recognize a lot of men don’t live up to what I see as manhood.

I agree with the sentiment. But I also wouldn’t feel like a man if I didn’t pay, from a personal standpoint of what I believe a man should be

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
