Always convenient to make your straw man as vague as possible isn't it?

Well, I wouldn't be 100% sure. Confidence plays a huge role here. Thank God there's a woman here to tell us silly men what we're attracted to I know lots of girls who were just too shy to hang out with guys when they were 20 Ok but they didn't become more attractive, they're just putting themselves in the right environment where someone who does find them attractive might be able to do something about it.

that women being attracted to serial killers is somehow seen as greater cause for concern than men BEING serial killers Literally no one is saying that.

Happened once to me with a girl that kept sitting on my lap and stroking my hair when her bf (who is my friend) was sitting in the same room. Admittedly we were all pretty high so her intent was likely not sexual but I'd still kind of count it as it did make me uncomfortable
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/19 09:59 PM

Yeah...that’s still not scientific. You are blatantly ignoring the fact that people use these terms to also indicate personality characteristics It doesn't matter what it includes. It defines a person's overall attractiveness, which obviously means different things to different people. But that doesn't make it unscientific. In theory, you could very well perform a study whereby you ask a sample of women to rate the overall attractiveness of a set of men and determine which are attractive and whi…

I don't think this is true. The way people perceive you is not fixed - I'm pretty sure different friend groups I have view me in very different ways
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/19 08:58 PM
1

Oh boy I'm worried for you. Linking a study isn't a free ticket to winning an argument. The study actually has to be relevant and provide evidence to support your stance ...
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/19 09:18 AM

Like I say, your source does not actually provide any evidence for your original assertion. You said that the difference between the absolute fastest and absolute lowest metabolism is a few hundred calories. Your source says that 96% (not 100%) fall in a range of a few hundred. If I have to explain this three times I will be very worried for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/19 09:02 AM

Of course but that's really not the same at all. What she's basically doing is attaching a conscious reason to something that is actually subconscious. The equivalent would be me saying "I like wider hips because it gives me something to hold onto". But actually this is just the conscious result of my subconscious attraction. I only like holding onto them in the first place because they are a sign of fertility and an ability to birth healthy children.

Even if I believe everything you listed you've still been through nothing close to what I have. Yet which one of us is walking round scared all the time?

How many times have you been sucker punched by a random guy on a night out without either of you saying a word because he wanted a fight. Ended up in hospital, lost two front teeth and fractured your mandible? I'm guessing one less than me. Guess what? I still go on nights out, and I don't go through life shitting myself every time I see another man. Just because women spend more time in fear doesn't mean their lives are any harder - they just react with fear to things that us men wouldn't.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 09:53 PM
3

The possibility of something bad exists for so so many things for both men and women. The difference is women are wired to be more predisposed to fear than men are.

Yes, and they discuss what it means because the distinction between bodybuilder and casual gym goer is important, as one looks masculine and unattractive while the other does not... Also note the op in the thread defines muscular as "defined abs, arms, shoulders" etc. While the men who actually talk about what they find masculine are talking about bodybuilder types. This just goes to show the disconnect between men and women over what actual counts as muscular
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 06:47 PM
1

But no where on that thread does it say anything about at what point they would consider a woman to be muscular in the first place. I'm saying that that point is a lot higher in men's eyes than you think it is. Hence why you need steroids to achieve it.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 06:38 PM
1

My opinion is not the be all and end all, but still 100% more relevant than yours
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 06:35 PM
1

You can disagree but at the end of the day I'm a man, and we are talking about the opinions that men have of what counts as muscular and masculine on a woman
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 06:33 PM
1

For a woman to look muscular she needs 1) muscle mass and 2) low body fat. Women can lift heavy all the time and not look masculine
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 06:31 PM
1

You're right, I did. And I agree that muscular women look masculine. I'm just saying that women can't really get muscular naturally. So it's not really a legitimate concern for women who are considering lifting
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 06:24 PM
1

I've been counting calories for years, I know how much I'm eating. I'm around the same height as you. But reasonably muscular. Maybe there is something wrong with me but I know how much my maintenance is
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 06:21 PM
1

I never said that muscular women don't look masculine. My point is that woman can't get to the stage of what most men would call muscular (and therefore masculine) without steroids
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 06:17 PM
1

Maybe. But I don't think so.

96% of the population is in the range of 1680-2320kcal 99% of men are shorter than 6'4 yet being 8 foot tall is perfectly possible. So your source does not actually provide any evidence for your original assertion
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 06:14 PM
1

Yes for a person who doesn't have a high metabolism you'd have to be a giant, but the whole point is I do have a fast metabolism. Anyway you're confusing BMR and maintenance. I don't do a huge amount of exercise. I drive to and from my office job, walk 8k steps a day and lift most days. So perhaps more than your average fat shit but nothing spectacular. I've been lifting for some time so have decent muscle mass but I've always had an abnormally high metabolism. And whenever I mention this fact t…

Women get called masculine and gross is their muscular This is a total myth. Women physically can't get "masculine and gross" from lifting without steroids

And there's usually a cringey comment like yours following it. (Order immediately restored)

The extent between the absolute lowest metabolism and the absolute highest from the average population (so, no fasting hermits or 10k calorie Olympians) is a few hundred calories. Absolute nonsense
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/19 03:47 PM

IF you eat what you want and you don't gain weight, male OR female, guess what? You don't eat that much. Or you just have a fast metabolism. 3.5k calorie maintenance crew checking in

But don't you think it makes sense for female orgasms to be more selective as a way to encourage them to only pursue the most attractive men?
/r/TheRedPill19/06/19 09:27 PM
1

Any kind of truly ideal physique is hard to obtain. The difference is that for a woman to put herself somewhere near ideal it is a lot easier than it would be for a man. In before "but I looove dad bods". No you don't, you just think you can lock a guy with a dad bod down because he's lower value
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/19 05:11 PM
0

But all those factors add up to define value, which is, as I said, subjective. I'm not attempting to define value in this context, which is where the complexity and different factors you're talking about occur
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/19 02:50 PM
1

Because at the time that was just normal, her baseline for attractiveness.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/19 02:10 PM
0

Because it isn't. It's about overall value. And value is subjective. In this case defined by whatever metric the woman wants to. It's basically like having £100 at 25 which depreciates to £50 at 30. You're better off purchasing something while you're 25 because you'll get more for your money. But what you spend your money on doesn't matter - buy whatever you want.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/19 10:26 AM
1

but i certainly didn't realize just how hot i was then compared to how hot i know i am now. That's just your perspective changing. You're defining what is hot or not based on how hot you currently are. Same way that as you gain muscle, everyone starts to look smaller rather than yourself looking bigger. Or that as you grow taller, your perspective changes.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/19 10:23 AM
1

Depends on the value of the girl - for some getting a man with a job is as much s they could hope for.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/19 10:21 AM
1

so i want to know what you think these husbands would look like and how well you think that meshes with whats actually desired by women. It doesn't really matter what they look like. The point is that at that time in a woman's life she has the most bargaining power to get whatever she happens to want in a partner. So that's her best chance of getting the man she wants.

/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/19 06:55 AM

"😢😢😢 it's sooo hardddd" If your body "wants you to look a certain way" i.e you have a slow or fast metabolism, you eat and exercise accordingly to counteract that. This coming from someone that eats 3.8k calories a day to maintain weight. It can't be 60-80% genetics if you can use a bit of willpower to completely overcome the effect
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 10:34 PM

Bodyfat levels can be controlled a bit with effort, but they're still 60-80% genetic LMFAO
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 10:30 PM

This is why men say "hurt Durr put down the fork" when we see fatsos complaining though. It's easy as fuck just don't be a fat pig
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 10:25 PM

Women really don't understand that it's 10 times harder to build and maintain a lean, muscular physique than it is to put down the fucking fork and stop stuffing your fat face
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 10:23 PM
2

OK, fair enough. I was just going off the wording in your title which doesn't actually mean what you seem to be trying to say
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 10:10 PM

why do they want someone who is far less likely to have similar life experience and maturity? Because young women are more sexually attractive
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 09:57 PM
1

Maybe not that much older, but on average probably 3 years older. And there are plenty of outliers who prefer 10+ years older
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 09:55 PM
1

The men want younger women because the are easily manipulated. 2. What would they even talk about? 3. The guys are closet pedos. 4. Men should date women their own age because SiMilaR LifE ExpErIEnceS. How are any of these things sexist? And literally none of them even insult the girls, it's the guys that take the blame. The mental gymnastics to make women victims in every possible scenario are mind-blowing

Money and status matter if you're a man
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 09:46 PM

And women are desperate losers who can't live without a man to commit to them

3

You've misinterpreted the analogy
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 09:44 PM

Hot tip: you can also make this happen by leading girls on by dangling a relationship on the end of a stick when you actually know you're just going to ghost them when they ask for commitment 😎
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/19 09:40 PM
1

Except it doesn't say that the average time to get married is 29, it just says that the average woman aged 29 is married with a kid. That could mean 51% are married, it could mean 99% are married at that time. And they could've got married at 18 or at 29. You're assuming that the average time a woman gets married is at age 29 but the that's not what the title of your post actually says.

I literally wrote "of course but to varying degrees" in response to you saying everyone was influenced by emotions. But I guess you're thinking too emotionally to actually read what I'm saying. Yes, there are absolutely emotionally reactive women, but there are plenty of emotionally reactive men too Of course. There are just more women.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/19 09:53 PM

Pretty hilarious that you're saying this as a woman as if that doesn't prove my point. Anyway, disregarding that irony, of course your thinking is influenced by emotions. But as I've already said, different people are influenced by those emotions to varying degrees. And what is even more important is how you let logic and feelings actually influence the way you act. One person might still be influenced by their emotions but use logic to override that feeling and act logically. Other people act m…

You're strawmanning. I never said men don't experience emotion, I just said that male thinking is typically more oriented towards logical thinking where women tend to be more influenced by their feelings

Thinking and feeling go hand in hand For most women yes, for most men, no All people are influenced by their wants, desires and emotions. Of course, but to varying degrees.

There are things which men or women consistently outperform each other in, but that's entirely due to cultural factors. The "everything is a social construct" angle is nothing more than conjecture used by women to justify being a victim whenever statistics show them to be underperforming

Lmao funny this is you're basically being a nice girl. "But he did nice things for me HE OWES ME COMMITMENT". No, that's not how it works. If you attach importance to nice gestures, you're basically the same as a niceguy

Do you want to fuck hot guys or something?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/19 08:24 AM

you're blurring the lines Only to the woman. Men generally have no issue with this. So tough, it's your problem if you interpret friendly gestures as romantic.

Yet you still do it...
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/19 08:52 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/19 10:06 AM

oh btw making a girl you're fucking some soup when she's sick is boyfriend behavior not basic kindness Or rather, you interpret it as boyfriend behaviour. It's the kind of thing a person would perfectly reasonably do for a friend with no romantic intentions at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/19 09:46 AM

None of the girls I have been with we're much more attractive than me. Sucks for us cuz guys care a lot about looks and we don't get to fuck upwards 😭 That's the reality of any marketplace, sexual or otherwise. The demand for sex from good looking women pushing their price up.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/19 09:41 AM

I've done what you consider "actions that show a connection" for girls I wouldn't want to be seen in public with (cooking them food etc). There was no connection, I just like doing things for people, especially cooking.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/19 09:35 AM

You clearly both enjoy the sex or you wouldn't be his FWB... Why should he be buying you food and not the other what round. This is classic female entitlement. "I exist and have a vagina, give me free stuff".
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/19 09:22 AM

We all know men aren't entitled to sex. It's the second one that isn't so well known.

they get their hearts broken just as bad as any other girl It all comes down the the relative RMV/SMV of each individual. Imagine a 5/10 guy with oneitis, gets dumped by an 8/10 girl, it's going to sting a lot more than if he gets dumped by a 5/10 girl because he should be able to get another equally attractive girl.

Yes I'm sure you like how I didn't allow myself to get side tracked and start talking about something that is unrelated to my post It's exactly related to your post. You're deflecting.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/19 08:38 AM

Or just say that men dying is the result of their choices and leave it at that. Men in general are very happy to leave it at that. The problem arises when feminists complain about lower wages for women but not about the reasons for those differences e.g. men dying more often. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/19 08:35 AM

Very true. I remember how gut wrenching it all seemed at first. Doesn't bother me now
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/19 06:49 PM

Most progress is made by outliers though, so I don't think it's a bad thing to use them as an example in this case.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/19 10:19 PM
1

In my opinion that is far too clingy. I would start to get a bit annoyed. But I am pretty much the total opposite of you, as in I can live quite happily without ever texting in between seeing them. But if you had a guy who was equally clingy then it would probably be fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/19 09:51 PM

I think as men we need to stop giving a shit. I now just lead girls on to use them for sex when they want commitment. Because there is no empathy the other way round. "All is fair in love and war".
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/19 09:48 PM

The problem is that it was a binary question, ie "are you bothered by clutter or not". It doesn't ask to what extent these people are bothered by clutter, or at what point they consider something to be cluttered. The latter is crucial I think - much more important than whether or not the they are bothered by clutter.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/19 01:33 PM

The definition I gave: "the stage of human social and cultural development and organization that is considered most advanced" In what way are tribes considered "the most advanced"? You have to be trolling.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/19 09:47 AM
1

Because we are talking about whether these roles are nature or nurture
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/19 09:44 AM

Yes. That is distinct from civilisation. Humans have always lived in tribes, not families as otherwise they would be inbred
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 11:11 PM

They definitely wouldn't fit that definition at all. Having a house doesn't make it civilisation.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 06:18 PM

Not really. Definition of civilisation: the stage of human social and cultural development and organization that is considered most advanced. First civilisation was about 5000 years ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 05:38 PM

Go for it then. What would you tell people when they ask what it is?

It said nothing about people's attitudes to cleanliness other than those things. It said that men washed things up immediately after using them slightly more than women. But your entire argument is based around people's attitudes to housework, isn't it?

They are societally constructed and enforced because they benefit society and allow civilizations to exist. No, same roles existed before civilisation existed, when we lived in tribes.

From the home advisor article, I don't really see how it supports your point. The only real mention of cleanliness is where it says "bothered by clutter and unkempt things" (men 67% / women 71%) and "make the bed in the morning" (men 32% / women 41%).

Oh lord, I love that line when it comes, but it isn't NECESSARY! Neither is him working those extra hours, but its a net gain to the household The difference is men don't complain about the choices they make. It's not a net gain to the household if the woman is maintaing the cleanliness to her own level. It's a net gain to her. The man doesn't care about the extra cleanliness. You're basically doing something that the man doesn't want or care about then expecting him to be grateful for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 12:27 PM
1

You can not? Is that a question or a statement? It's called flexi-time, look it up. My entire point is not moot - women choose to put more time into the home which isn't necessary in the eyes of men. If you want a home to meet your own lofty standards of cleanliness it's hardly an injustice if you have to put the effort in to maintain that level.

No, I'm just saying that when women "give a guy a chance" it's not really doing them a favour like they think it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 11:09 AM
1

Hardly doubt or highly? All of my working hours, annual leave, sick leave hours etc are added and subtracted on an hourly basis. A day equates to 7.4 working hours. Still the point remains, you've only provided evidence for a tiny portion of the discrepency between men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 10:41 AM
1

I do yes. Where I work, it makes no difference whether you're away for a day or an hour, it can still be recorded as sick leave. If your own source is so inadequate, why not provide one which is better?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 10:25 AM
1

The source you provided shows a 1% discrepancy. If you want to pick holes in your own source that's fine, but you chose it...
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 10:20 AM
2

What's your point? Women losing 1% of their working time to the phenomenon you described doesn't explain the size of the discrepancy in working hours. It amounts to 24 minutes a week...
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 10:14 AM
1

Funny, your source says that at the time of the article, women lost 2.6% of their working hours to sick days, while men list 1.6%. Let's assume that all of that difference is due to women caring for other people, and women therefore lose 1% of their working hours to caring for others. Assuming a 40 hour week, that accounts for 0.4 hours per week, which is no where near the discrepancy between men and women for hours worked.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 09:36 AM

I did, I was simply disputing a point that I disagreed with. You talking about gender roles changing followed by that statement makes it look like you think gender roles have now actually reversed. That's why I was disputing, but it appears you just said something you don't actually mean.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 09:21 AM

Some of us are asking men for the mirror of our contributions as women. What seems to be the problem? The problem with this line of reasoning is that the "mirror of your contributions" is defined by what you expect from men i.e. your standards rather than the other way round. "Your contributions" are qualitative, as are "his contributions" so saying you expect a mirrored contribution is completely meaningless.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 09:20 AM

Women provide for their family. Men take care of their home and rear their children. You said that - a sentence which talks about the current situation and says nothing about change. I said "except more often it's the other way round", which it is.

Full time can be anything between 35-70 hours per week. In the UK, the average man works 5 hours more per week than the averge woman. https://www.statista.com/statistics/280749/monthly-full-time-weekly-hours-of-work-in-the-uk-by-gender-year-on-year/
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 09:12 AM
14

Women on average work 10 hours less per week, so it's hardly unjustified to expect some housework. Plus a lot of the reason women do more housework is because they tend to have a higher standard for cleanliness of their home. Men just don't care as much - why should they be expected to spend more time cleaning up the house to get it to a level of cleanliness they consider excessive?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/19 09:09 AM
10

No they aren't. Gender roles are pretty similar across the globe. Men are the dominant bread winners, women are the submissive child rearers. The "socially constructed bs" is anything that deviates from this.

This whole thing just goes to show that women are naturally submissive or at least more likely to be submissive than men. She grew up believing that she was equal, yet still submits to whatever kind of relationship her man wants.

Whenever I've had any kind of relationship with women, I'm the one that pushes for sex and they're the ones that pushes for commitment. This is a pretty common scenario. Same with my male friends - they are almost never the ones to push for commitment. I think it is mainly extremely low value guys who push for commitment because it actually benefits them. Asking a man how to get a man is probably about as useless as asking a woman how to get women. I have no idea how to get men, but given that showing interest is the problem, you should probably show less interest, or at least show it later on. Alternatively go for less attractive men. If showing interest is enough to turn them off you, you're only just attractive enough for them to be interested in the first place.

This doesn't really make sense though. Women can get more attractive guys to fuck them than they can get for an LTR/marriage. Hence it feels like they are settling when they marry (if they equate their RMV to their SMV which they often do). The opposite is true for men. A lot of men struggle to get casual sex, but can quite easily get an LTR/marriage. Their RMV is higher than their SMV, so they aren't really settling or marrying down.

No, it comes down to a realistic evaluation of my SMV. I would much rather settle with someone who thinks the sun shines out of my arse than be with a woman who knows she can do better than me. Regardless of how confident you are, there is a limit to your SMV. At least I know that. Unlike you, a delusion gamer.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/19 05:36 PM

No, I want to pick a woman that knows that I'm her best option

/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/19 05:15 PM

You don't want to be the one with lower SMV in the relationship. If your SMV is 9+ then fine, go for the 9/10. Otherwise you're fucked.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/19 03:23 PM
1

You would better choose 5/10 because you know she doesn't have so much options. Which means that you don't have the confidence to compete with other men. Nothing to do with confidence. You can be as confident as you like, but if you're anywhere close to realistic you know there's a chance a 9/10 will cheat on you.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/19 02:39 PM

You asked for evidence, not statistical evidence. We are talking about the specific case of the OP, so yes, his experiences are evidence of that.

/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/19 12:10 PM

You're moving the goalposts. The argument wasn't whether there's any value in behaving this way. The argument I'm making is that it's not unjustified to feel this way.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/19 12:03 PM

And for the majority of people being harshly rejected is also an unpleasant experience. Like I said initially, it is a hyberbolic example but comparable nonetheless

There is nothing which is inherently good or bad. Nazis were often perceived as good people by their family and other Nazis.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/19 10:38 PM
