So what stage do you think TRP is in? And do you think it's inevitable to go through each of those stages?

Well said. TRP's critics are, I agree, the vocal minority, and as we all know unfortunately, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. They are making the most 'audible' noise. We just need to keep our focus on ourselves, and we'll fine. Screw the rest of them if they can't figure it out.

Well I guess if it ever gets to that kind of size, there will have to be more subs under TRP, much like AskTRP. But if TRP ever has that problem (i.e., so many users that it needs to focus and split up content), there will be good and bad consequences. It's probably a naive hope that if a larger percentage of guys swallowed TRP (not a majority but at least a decent percentage), people in general would have a more difficult time dismissing it as fringe. Maybe we're better off in the darkness.

Yeah I see what you mean. The top 300 are probably all of the generic BS subreddits, devoid of actual substance, like /r/pics or /r/awww.

Brings up an interesting thought. What happens when TRP breaks into the top 300? Top 200? Top 100? Do you think the hatred will intensify as TRP becomes more and more popular? Or, as more people begin to understand and follow TRP, will it become more accepted?

IIRC, many pagan tribes in northern Europe and the British Isles held women in very high regard/esteem. This may not be an example of a truly-matrilineal society, but it may be the closest civilization has come.

I'll give it a week longer to see if she initiates meal plans discussions with me This may have been mentioned already, but maybe you shouldn't just wait for her to initiate those discussions. I would take the lead and bring it up again, calmly, like you have been handling it so far. I wouldn't wait for her to take the initiative anymore on this. Good work, though. Hope it works out for you!

I'm not so sure this guy was actually solely operating in the friend zone. Like Kai said in his reply on Quora, she has probably banged him, or at least hooked up with him. Tough to tell from Quora-OP's question, but it doesn't seem like exclusively friendzone.

Depends on how desperate the electric guy was.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm sure if he blurred the faces, there would be plenty of commentors suggesting that all of the girls were 3s or try to call bullshit.

You see this all the time in pop culture, and we've seen it for a long time. one of my favorites is the chorus of Aretha Franklin's "Do Right Woman" (1967): If you want a do right, all day woman You've gotta be a do right, all night man It might not be as overt as some of the other examples discussed here, but that line has always made me laugh.

I agree. I see this a lot on TRP. There is a lot of professed shock and disbelief at this or that, when all of it is the basis for TRP existing in the first place. But hey, part of the point is for this to also be a place to vent with like-minded people, or people that can help you.

Inevitably, the texts over the course of the evening would turn from rage and threats to begging and bartering and eventually into sorrow and apologies. This. I have seen this in so many situations, whether girlfriend, friend, relative, etc. Women do this any chance they get. Stake out a very extreme position and/or react emotionally and irrationally, then when she doesn't get the response she was hoping for, begin to tack back to a more moderate position, usually ending with an apology for her …

I feel the same way. I avoid most of the anger posts, read more of the theory posts/articles instead.

Stopped reading at "Get drunk". I can't keep reading, even for the laughs.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
