I focus on my career and work to stay fit for myself, the fact that it helps with confidence is a byproduct. I also have friends who are the opposite of me and seem to do fine with girls. I can tell through body language when someone is actively engaged or not interested, this allows me to decide if I want to keep hanging out or cut dates short. From what I understand you are saying it seems like one needs more experience to pull these "specific techniques". But the more I read about these techniques, they seem like unnecessary hacks.
