the way I believe it should work is if you are a friend or relative that knows they would never lie about a crime so horrible then you should believe them, but if they have lied about it before then you should stay wary that it could be a lie. For the general public that do not know the accuser should stay silent about it and believe her but also not believe her at the same time, basically what I mean is "it could be true but it also could not be true"
