I fail to see how I didn't address this in my previous comment. For what it's worth if the marking isn't anonymous then that's a problem for a whole load of reasons. At my uni the examiners don't get to see the names of the students whose work they're marking. It was the same for exams while I was at school. This only goes some way to explaining the attainment gap anyway, and doesn't refute my main point, which is that girls work harder than boys at school and thus deserve higher grades.
