I don't see confidence and humility diametrically opposed. Arrogance perhaps? I think you can be entirely confident and attractive while maintaining humility.

There's a contradiction in your "contradiction" ; If a person "who has some humility" knows they "can do a better job than a person who thinks he's the shit," then would they even have "low self-confidence"? If they are more than competent at their "humble job" why would they lack confidence? I don't believe in this "humble job." There is competence and ineptitude, and then there is self-awareness of which category you fall into.

I think you're drastically over simplifying seduction. I agree, my problem with seduction is the whole PUA mentality, the vocabulary, the field reports, the formulas....they might be effective, but they deconstruct male female interactions to the point of inanity. My main problem is that this is a subreddit for seduction, not self improvement. Giving a general lesson as an all encompassing one does not help much. Seduction is about getting what you want... Calling it manipulative and shallow jus…

I agree. I don't think the OP is really talking about seduction anymore. He's talking about self improvement. Seduction is literally just about the process of seducing another being. All the sentimental crap about wanting to self-improvement is really just a fine illusion to make ourselves feel better when we're not successful in seduction. "Well, she doesn't want me! Haha! She's missing out! Cause I'm awesome." I feel like community is pushing back against weak criticism and turning into excite…

If we want to be honest, your idea of self improvement is not seduction. It's self improvement. Your argument is like: "girls are attracted to how I value myself so if I work at constant improbement, I will always be better" self improvement depends on feelings of insecurity, cast in an optimistic light. Self improvement works within seduction, but it is not the end. Seduction is about seducing; finding, picking, attracting, and achieving another person

I'm not trying to stack it. You're missing my point. It's a psychological thing, and I'm not really referring to testosterone. For a simple analogy, let's look at a rat in a cage, with a pleasure button. When they can access the button, they press it. Constantly. They won't eat. They'll press it until they die. A bit less hard core, masturbation. You masturbate. Every day. Sometimes, twice a day. Bored? Fap? Can't sleep? Fap? You're banging on your pleasure button and conditioning yourself into …

I find it very relevant in terms of seduction. Masturbation breeds complacency. Just try it; don't jerk off for a month and see how much more willing you are to approach/talk to/attract women. If basic motivation for female company is sex, one can imagine that rampant masturbation to internet porn might decrease one's appetite for the real thing. Also, self-improvement; learning to transcend one's pleasure mechanisms.

You sound like someone who would say, "Don't hate the player, hate the game." The process of learning seduction cultivates self-awareness, yet you suddenly reached a point where it was all-natural, and the self-awareness goes right out the window? I can't help it! I'm just so damn seductive! Control is the biggest lesson, IMO.

I'll turn to Nietzsche. "For what is freedom? That one has the will to assume responsibility for oneself. That one maintains the distance which separates us. That one becomes more indifferent to difficulties, hardships, privation, even to life itself. That one is prepared to sacrifice human beings for one's cause, not excluding oneself. Freedom means that the manly instincts which delight in war and victory dominate over other instincts, for example, over those of "pleasure." The human being who…

You're applying subjective morality toward some sweeping generalizations. If all I want to do is fuck bitches, who are you to tell me it's wrong or bad? You like relationships, I like serial monogamy. What's it to you?

Just to point out: much of PUA discourse is centered around the predator - prey relationship, considering this, is it such a surprise or shock that gunwitch has taken this interaction to its extreme?

What are you even saying here? He clearly said he often becomes bored (read: does not enjoy their company) when he talks to women, and granted this might be due to his own failings as a conversationalist, it's fairly obvious that he submitted his post because he does want to enjoy their company.

If you feel this strongly, what brought you to seddit in the first place? I make moves and play games all the time, not precisely within the PUA nomenclature, but more from personal detachment and self-awareness. Last I checked, I have had plenty of meaningful and significant interactions. If I didn't, I'd probably change, right? Right??? And speaking of personal detachment, why do you take seddit so seriously? If you don't like it, just fucking leave. Truth be told, rage makes you look juvenile…

I do not think that delusion is the correct word. When you say "TRUE" alpha man, you seem to suggest that this world is primarily deterministic; why try to be a PUA at all if alpha men have always been alpha men and will always be alpha men? I would like to contend that we are all alpha men, we are all geeks, we are all jocks, we are all whatever we want to be. Your face, your personality, personal affectations--all illusions that you can present at will, not delusions suffered. Would you rather…

Well, if you assumed that everyone can be manipulated (read: not just girls), and you recognize this as a fact of existence, then you can choose not to be turned off by a. not manipulating or b. manipulating with good intentions. Or, you can be a sociopath and play god. Maybe they're not that stupid, you're just more intelligent. And jaded. You'll find a way to be turned on, regardless. I've heard it's fun.
