It depends on your goals , and how fast you want to achieve them. I personally didn't drink a drop of alchol for more than 8 years with huge benefits; 1) Save a lot of money (which I save , invest in my retirement plan); 2)My body recovers faster after the work outs. 3)It forced me to develop interests in other things than booze, new hobbies. 4) My relationship with other people improved .

Wrong , you have to work on your mindset and your body first. From your post I see that you are very insecure about yourself ,if you will try to spinn plates there is a very high probability that you will repeat the same problem.
