Likewise, I think you are missing my point, which is that war is wrong, full stop, and in an ideal world, there are no rules of war because there is no war. But that is an ideal world that we don't love in, and in a real world there are people like Putin who want to reforge a now lost soviet block and will use force to get what they want. And while that is total bollocks and it'll be years before society straightens itself out, it behoves companies to make smart choices where they improve their equity scoring. Maybe hire outside the straight white male demographic for the camera position, or sound boarding. Maybe you don't do it for the director of the whole thing. Get the right person in the position where the vision gets shared, fill positions under that to meet whatever quota crap you currently have to fulfil.

There was a time that was true, definitely representation of non-white ethnicities has improved (which is a good thing). You'll find these days the protagonist role is shared around a lot more. The villain role not so much. Men are still overwhelming brutalised in films as well, when it's a woman you'll notice the camera tends to pan away or very quickly another female character will turn up to fight them.

A lot of good points have been raised here. Though to add to it from my own experience, there is an innate bias that comes into play. Boys tend to be louder so get caught more, and teacher tolerance tends to be lower when it comes to boys. This starts the spiral of 'boy gets told off' 'teacher focusses on them more' 'teacher picks up on more behaviours' 'boy gets anxious and acts out more'.

The one I like is when it gets brought up that men have had the vote since time immemorial. Which at least from a Uk standpoint is utter bs. Wealthy landowners had the vote since forever, commoners however got the vote (depending where you lived) roughly between 1867 and 1884 with the reform acts. Which means for most of us country boys the difference in when we got the vote and when women got the vote was about 40 years.
