I was reading over this again today, and it just hit me: I just realized our daughter was born in 1998 and my then-wife left me in 2002, man o man, kinda crazy i guess...

i saw a comment on here one time describing these commercials as "it's a woman's wet dream to tell a man something he didn't know, or explain how to do something better" so that's all you see in commercials nowadays. Inept men being enlightened by smart savvy women.

I just don't find the 'I will eat popcorn while I watch society burn' meme believable. If the fire gets big enough, everyone is impacted almost every morning I appreciate the fact that hot water comes out of the shower. I'm in no rush for that to go away.

Yep exactly. I predict much of what Charlize Theron's character did in The Road for the majority of the population. ZERO chance of comprehending and accepting what the world has become, so you just end it.

half the population is fighting the other half while the rich folks run away with all the money while we're distracted I try to recognize purposeful infighting in society; I can stay away from left vs. right, blue vs. red, boomer vs. millennial, pro life vs. pro choice, rich vs. poor, etc. but i'll be damned if I can stay away from men vs. women and mgtow topics. It's definitely my Achilles heel and i'm trying to remain aware of the direction things are going in society, but not allow it to emot…

I've tried this with my brother (similar situation to OP, ongoing for 13 years now) and the thing is, he doesn't want to hear any of that. Our interactions have been "sterile" since the last time I tried having this conversation with him several years ago. All we do is briefly/casually chat about video games, music, and sports. Anything else goes ignored/unanswered. I've given up.

jesus christ the comments on this post on /r/all. loved it when i first read it this morning, because it just seems so applicable. I'm not some teenage edgelord; just a 45 year old dude, divorced since 30, living in my own house since then, and have to continually tell people 'no' trying to leech my time/labor. Their reaction when you tell them "I'm not looking for extra work" is always priceless.

watched s7e1 finally last night, and this was exactly the thread I was looking for. The whole episode I kept asking myself why this never bothered me before, or if it was just more 'in your face' now. I think my favorite [relatable] line was the Hound being asked something about why he's angry all the time, and his response was "experience."

oftentimes feel entitled to special treatment this is my problem right now. I'm 43, and am starting to feel like I've been at this (life in general) for long enough and often fall into a trap where I feel like I'm smarter than everyone else. Road rage because of slow people, etc. My buddy has to periodically remind me that we're not Stonecutters; we don't get our own lanes to drive on, etc. We have to deal with everybody out there just like everyone else. It requires constant "reigning in" on my…

You know, like most replies here, "woman issues" have a lot to do with me being an MGTOW (met when we were 19, married at 23, kid at 26, divorced at 30; will be 42 next week) but more-so than that is I want to try different things with my life, related to my hobby interests, and have realized I don't want any barriers (wife/gf imposed barriers). For example, back in 2008 I bought a motorcycle and decided I wanted to get into long-distance road tripping. After that ran its course, I decided on so…

I think the sentiment of "settling" rears its ugly head after the money, resources, or vagina tingles subside. Things could've started out fine, she could even be with a guy of higher SMV; but if those disappear, goodbye [perceived] happiness...

Unfortunately I think keyless-entry affects the success rate of "the door test". Another test I've seen in comments here is if a girl holds a door open for you?

I've worked with enough young, new moms over the years, to the point where when I hear them say "i just want to be a stay at home mom! I want to spend every waking moment with my bebe!" You know better. Give them 2-3 months, and the next time you see them, they've changed their tune.

I'm always astonished with mentality that it's "easier" to go-ahead with the wedding and have it blow up afterwards, then to save everybody the trouble and call things off before the big day. Reminds me of a quote I have bookmarked from here: "She wants the wedding, she doesn't want the marriage."

you know, I've been thinking about this comment off and on for the last day, and, do you think this applies to us somewhat as well, in that with women, our closest female friends that we'd sleep with in a heartbeat are the ones that get most of our attention?

no woman can make you happy, being a man is what truly makes you happy. As someone who was basically taken care of by women until I got divorced at 30 (momma's boy living at home until 23, then lived with gf/wife from 23-30), this is my mantra

I had no idea a 'movement' like MGTOW existed until... Same here man. Until recently, I had really only subbed to /r/MensRights, but what I was looking for, didn't really fit in with the vibe of that sub. I stumbled across /r/TheRedPill a month or two ago, and while I enjoy reading submissions/comments on there, because of my age (41) I don't really feel like I'm amongst peers there either. I think it's beneficial to understand the beta-tendencies that have played a role with where I'm at in lif…

This is where my life-lessons with TRP occurred. When you have wife that's driven by success in her job, I realized in hindsight (after divorce) that she wanted my support in a different way. We met at 19, married at 23, kid at 26, built a new house at 28, and divorced at 30. After me repeatedly turning down the idea of having more kids, my ex dropped the bomb that she no longer is in love with me (the new house and thought of more kids were just her way of hamstering the unhappiness away. What …

To elaborate: which is why being a high SMV man that is ripped, charismatic and earns bank lets you get away with saying shit and receiving types of responses from woman that the average man can only fucking dream of. amusing demonstration of case in point

Take divorces: Men deal with so many small not-fight-worthy indiscretions from their ex while dealing with their children. Men shrug them off, and shrug them off until they can't. Then they behave as a human would and blow the fuck up on the bitch. The problem is that he's seemingly blowing up at a something small like her being late to pick up the children and gets labeled as a crazy person with anger issues who overreacts over little shit. No one ever digs back into the history of abuse the mo…
